Abstract

The Automatic License Plate Recognition (ALPR) has been becoming a new trend in transportation systems automation. The extraction of vehicle’s license plate can be done without human intervention. Despite such technology has been widely adopted in developed countries, developing countries remain a far-cry from implementing the sophisticated image and video recognition for some reasons. This paper discusses the challenges and possibilities of implementing Automatic License Plate Recognition within Indonesia’s circumstances. Previous knowledge suggested in the literature, and state of the art of the automatic recognition technology is amassed for consideration in future research and practice.

Abstract

The activities of the job training is an activity that must be implemented at Vocational Secondary School. The lack of utilization of technology on such activities in Vocational Secondary School,  so the data management of the job training become less effective and efficient. Therefore, it is necessary the information system for manage the data on the job training and produces the decision support of the decent industry of the job training as a result of the evaluation of the job training. This research has a goal to produce decision support system to determine the feasibility of the job training industry (SPK-KTP), measure the feasibility of the system, and produce a decision support using a Simple Additive Weighting (SAW) method. The information system can help the school to manage the administration on the job training, recap the daily journal, recap the reports in pursuit, and provide decision support the job training of decent industry used in the next period. SPK-KTP uses SAW method to produce decision support the job training of decent industry. SPK-KTP is the web-based information system which it is developed using the programming language PHP (Hypertext Preprocessor). This information system uses The Waterfall Model as its system development method. The steps of The Waterfall Model consists of Analysis, Design, Code, and Test. SPK-KTP has done testing to an expert of the information system with value 90,7%, an expert of the substance of the job training with value  91,6%, supervising teachers with value 83,3%, and learners with value 90,6%. Based on the result, so SPK-KTP is very decent to use.

Abstract

This research is aimed to test a paper currency counterfeit detection system based on Linear Vector Quantization (LVQ) Neural Network. The input image of the system is the dancer object image of? paper currency Rp. 50.000,-? fluorescent by ultraviolet light. The image of paper currency data was taken from conventional banks. The LVQ method is used to recognize whether the paper currency being tested is counterfeit or not. The coding was carried out using visual programming language. The? feature size of the dancer tested object is 114x90 px and the RGBHSI was extracted as the input for LVQ. The experimental results show that the system has an accuracy 100% of detecting 20 real test case data, and 96% of detecting 22 simulated test case data. The simulated case data was generated by varying the brightness of the? image data. The real test case data contains of 10 counterfeit paper currency and 10 original paper currency. The simulated case data contains of 11 original paper currency and 11 counterfeit paper currency. The best setting for the system is? Learning Rate = 0.01 and MaxEpoh = 10.

Abstract

Sewing machines used industrial society uses electricity as an energy source. Electric power received by the electric motor is converted into kinetic energy. Rotation of the electric motor will be forwarded to move the sewing machine through a series of power transmission, among others, with pulleys and belts. For students who are just learning to sew, the sewing speed problem becomes one of the factors that determine the outcome of stitches. Students who are not familiar with this high speed will find it difficult to produce a good stitch. This study wanted to know the results of setting the electric sewing machine motor with resistance measurement, voltage and current flowing in the electric motor sewing machine, as well as the motor rpm. The study was conducted on a flat bed sewing machine with a high speed electric motor. Speed setting is done with the circuit TRIAC and DIAC, the triac and diac components into one. The results showed setting a string of AC voltage using a triac and diac pairs can be used as a universal regulator of motor rotation speed on the flat bed sewing machine. The magnitude of the percentage increased in the speed of the voltage of 100 volts to 215 volts with an increase in speed by 53.07%. The greater the voltage is increased, the amount of flow is also greater, and conversely the smaller the voltage applied, the less the current flows, so the inrush current can be avoided.

Abstract

Shoes in addition to those known from the model are also of the designation. Shoes are known not only as described above, but because of the following trademark or logo. The logo can be made by embossed. The authors in this study chose the title "Appropriate Tool System For Making Logo Shoe Molding Process For Small Industries". This study uses a leather material will be varied to variations in skin type, pressure length, and pressure temperature. This type of leather used vegetable leather and leather box. Press length made two kinds of 10 seconds and 20 seconds, while the pressure temperature made three kinds, namely the scale of 100, 200 and 300. Each treatment to obtain a set of four samples of 48 kinds of samples to test the tool pressure. In this study, the longer pressure results are seen more clearly, as well as the temperature, the higher the temperature, the more clearly also embosse result. The optimum results emboss, obtained at position 300 temperature scales and pressure length at 20 seconds on both kinds of leather used.

Abstract

Penelitian ini mengevaluasi pelaksanaan program Praktik Kerja Lapangan (PKL) di SMK Tamtama 1 Sidareja untuk mengetahui efektivitasnya dalam mempersiapkan siswa memasuki dunia kerja. Latar belakang penelitian ini adalah pentingnya pendidikan kejuruan dalam menciptakan tenaga kerja yang kompeten dan berdaya saing di era globalisasi. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengevaluasi pelaksanaan program PKL dengan menggunakan model CIPP (Context, Input, Process, Product). Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah pengumpulan data melalui observasi, wawancara, dan kuesioner. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa perencanaan program PKL belum optimal, terdapat kesulitan dalam mencari tempat PKL yang sesuai dengan jurusan mahasiswa, dan mahasiswa kurang memahami deskripsi pekerjaan dan adaptasi dengan lingkungan kerja. Selain itu, ditemukan bahwa bimbingan dan pengawasan dari instruktur masih kurang, yang berdampak pada kreativitas dan kesiapan kerja siswa. Kesimpulan dari penelitian ini adalah diperlukan perbaikan dalam perencanaan, pelaksanaan, dan evaluasi program PKL untuk meningkatkan kesiapan kerja lulusan. Kontribusi dari penelitian ini adalah memberikan rekomendasi untuk perbaikan pelaksanaan program PKL di SMK Tamtama 1 Sidareja dan menjadi referensi untuk penelitian sejenis di masa yang akan datang.

Abstract

The rapid development of globalization has brought significant changes to the world. In the current era, many media programs highlight weaknesses and promote negative behaviors, which, if left unchecked, may be easily imitated by children. This situation poses a risk of developing habits that undermine good character. Therefore, schools have an important role in instilling positive values. One such value is the spirit of mutual cooperation, which can be cultivated through the use of flipbook teaching materials in the Pancasila Education subject. This research aims to improve the mutual cooperation character of students by implementing flipbook-based teaching materials in Pancasila Education for Grade IV A students at SDN Karah 1 Surabaya. The research employed Classroom Action Research (PTK) conducted in two cycles. The subjects were Grade IV A students at SDN Karah 1 Surabaya. Data were collected before the intervention (pre-cycle) and after each cycle to measure the improvement in mutual cooperation. Pre-cycle: 28% of students achieved the expected character development, while 72% did not. Cycle I: Improvement to 45% complete and 55% incomplete. Cycle II: Further improvement to 90% complete and only 10% incomplete. These results demonstrate a significant increase, meeting the success indicators set for the study. The use of flipbook teaching materials in Pancasila Education effectively improved the mutual cooperation character of Grade IV A students at SDN Karah 1 Surabaya when implemented in accordance with PTK procedures. It is recommended that educators integrate innovative digital teaching materials, such as flipbooks, to foster positive character values in students, and further research can explore its application in other subjects and grade levels.
