Abstract

Being geographically close to Malaysia made them into good political relations; the example was the Import of Oxygen Tanks during pandemic in 2020-2021. Trading is carried out specifically after the Import Agreement which was requested directly by the Governor of West Kalimantan. The Oxygen Import Agreement requires an integrated action between the institutions in order to minimize corruption. The research is elaborated through three main discussions, based on the Border Governing Theory and Sovereignty Concept on a qualitative approach and descriptive method. First, the Legal Basic for Border Management. Second, the Export-Import Process and Sectoral Cooperation through the Oxygen Tank import process. Third, the success of Integration Governance process to reduce the Corruption. The purpose of this study is to see the success in relation to minimizing corruption in the Export of Oxygen Tanks at the Entikong Border.

Abstract

The protracted conflict between Russia and Ukraine since 2014 has reached an unpredictable peak of tension. The military invasion of Russia on February 24, 2022, overwhelmed Ukraine in the face of attack. Randomly bombed facilities caused thousands of civilians to lose their homes and lives. Initially, this conflict was caused by the seizure of the territory of the Crimean Peninsula. The conflict spread to the United States and the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO), ending in a difficult situation to control. Primarily when the United States officially provided military assistance to Ukraine during the conflict. In explaining this article, the author will use the Infra State-War Theory, the Concept of Military Intervention, and the Rational Actor Model Theory with a qualitative approach and descriptive research methods. This study's results aim to analyze the continuation of the conflict between Russia and Ukraine. The author will look at the evolution of the intervention of the United States in the era of Joe Biden's leadership in three phases of discussion. First, this article will elaborate on the origin of the conflict over the territory of the Crimean Peninsula. Second, it describes the interventions that have been carried out by the United States before. Third, this article will explain and analyze how the United States intervened during the leadership of Joe Biden.

Abstract

This paper is presented in response to the issue related to the impact of the COVID-19pandemic on the trade sector at the Entikong Border in West Kalimantan. The author uses cross-border governance to explain the dynamics and import-export activities during the pandemic. Data collection techniques in this study were interviews and literature studies. The results of this article show that export and import activities will continue during the pandemic. In 2020, it was found that freight shipments were recorded on both routes alone with 44.03% import-export activity through Supadio Airport amounting to US$193,668,243 and the Ports of Kendawang and Pontianak contributing 29.10%. In addition, there are oxygen import activities for pandemic mitigation and electricity imports to meet the needs of people at the border. During the pandemic, there was a change in international trade procedures impacted the depreciation of exports from Indonesia in early 2020 and started to stabilize in mid-April 2021. The Malaysian government's oxygen import policy took place as a result of the issue of increased oxygen demand during the Covid-19 pandemic. The activity of opening the two national borders between Indonesia and Malaysia can only be carried out for the importation of oxygen tanks (liquid oxygen), as well as the repatriation of PMI and the repatriation of motorized vehicles.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the governance of State Cross Border Posts in the field of capacity building and governance through border diplomacy during the handling of Covid-19 at the Entikong border in West Kalimantan. This study uses a qualitative approach with a descriptive study method within the framework of border governance theory and the concept of vitalization function. Data collection techniques used interviews and literature study. The data sources for this study are the Coordinator of the Entikong Indonesian Migrant Worker Protection Agency, the head of class II immigration, Entikong, West Kalimantan and the Head of Entikong District, as well as staff from the Entikong State Cross Border Post, as well as literature studies that come from reliable sources. Data analysis includes several stages, namely data collection, data simplification, presentation and drawing conclusions. Data validity was carried out using triangulation techniques. The results of this study are that the governance of the Entikong State Cross-Border Post already has fairly good infrastructure, such as the State Cross-Border Post office, International Land Terminal and other infrastructure. Improving governance in the field of capacity building at the Entikong State Cross-Border Post is carried out by increasing cooperation, facilities and in general it can be said that the capacity of the Entikong State Cross-Border Post has, especially when facing the Covid-19 pandemic. Another strategy is border diplomacy or cooperation between Indonesia and Malaysia.

Abstract

In 2021-2022, North Korea's nuclear developments surprised public. The testing of missiles over the past year produced the latest advanced nuclear. North Korea developing new an intercontinental nuke called "Hwasong-17". This article will discuss the dualism of nuclear policy carried out by North Korea through intercontinental missile tests to increase the national security in 2021-2022. The research focuses on two discussions. First, the movement of intercontinental nuclear tests and the response from world community. Second, the dualism policy impact for North Korea towards The Country's security. This article contain the Offense-Defense Theory, Nuclear Deterrence Concept with qualitative approach and descriptive research methods. Abstract

Indo-Pacific region has been an important region for Australia, Australia has made Indo-Pacific as a main region for implementing its foreign policy. Indo-Pacific region is known as high politic economic region with the influential countries, this become both a strength and a weakness for Australia. Though Australia get advantages to join important cooperation, US-China rivalry conflict requires a bad impact for Australia. Political conflict makes the stability of Indo-Pacific region begins to fall, so Australia trying to control its national security. Australia must choose an impartial policy between the US-China, though Australia has diplomatic relations with both. This research uses descriptive qualitative research, with Hedging Theory and Balance of Power (BOP) Theory. The results of this study elucidated the hedging strategy implemented by Australia in response to the rivalry conflict between the United States andChina in the Indo-Pacific region during 2018–2022, which posed threats to both Australia's security and regional stability.

Abstract

Pandemi covid-19 memberikan dampak bagi seluruh sektor kehidupan, termasuk kawasan perbatasan di Kalimantan Barat yakni Entikong. Selain membutuhkan kebijakan yang berfokus pada pertumbuhan, kawasan perbatasan Entikong juga dihadapkan dengan melemahnya ekonomi masyarakat serta kondisi sosial politik akibat dari pandemi covid-19. Sebagaimana diketahui bahwa virus ini menjadi ancaman kesehatan global lintas negara yang berdampak terhadap sektor ekonomi, sosial budaya, termasuk politik di perbatasan Indonesia. Tulisan ini disajikan untuk menjelaskan dampak dari pandemi covid-19 di perbatasan Entikong Kalimantan Barat. Penekanan utama dalam tulisan ini adalah aspek sosial politik yang menganalisis bagaimana pandemi covid-19 berdampak terhadap kondisi sosial, ekonomi, dan politik di daerah perbatasan Entikong Kabupaten Sanggau. Tulisan ini menggunakan perspektif border governance dalam menjelaskan fenomena. Adapun teknik pengumpulan data dalam tulisan ini adalah dengan wawancara dan studi pustaka. Data primer dalam penelitian ini berasal dari hasil wawancara. Sedangkan data sekunder berasal dari hasil observasi yang dilakukan oleh penulis serta dari studi pustaka. Dalam menganalisa penelitian ini penulis menggunakan pola induksi dengan tiga tahapan mengumpulkan data, pengolahan, dan analisis. Hasil dari tulisan ini menunjukkan bahwa pandemi covid-19 berdampak terhadap entitas ketergantungan masyarakat perbatasan karena adanya kebijakan lockdown dari pemerintah Indonesia. Hal ini juga didukung oleh penutupan pintu perbatasan oleh Pemerintah Malaysia. Kebijakan lockdown ini juga berdampak pada berkurangnya aktivitas ekonomi dan meningkatnya ancaman keamanan. Sementara dari sisi politik, pandemi berdampak terhadap penundaan pilkada. Pandemi ini membutuhkan kebijakan terkait refocusing penggunaan anggaran yang dapat digunakan untuk upaya mitigasi covid-19 di perbatasan Entikong.
