Abstract

The graphic novel "Palestine" is one of the graphic novel documentaries about the conflict in Palestine. The purpose of this research is to understand the process of meaning 'marks' in the graphic novel. The method used is qualitatively descriptive. The results suggest that the graphic novel "Palestine" may never know whether the "mark" can change things, but Joe Sacco's graphic novel "Palestine" was recognized as the best novel at the American Book Award in 1996, although at the same time it was denounced by the Israeli media and public.

Abstract

If we talk about radio, our minds are probably will be focused on audio-based electronic media that plays favorite music or hot news was happening today. Whether we realize or not, these broadcasts maybe can we take to talk with family or friends. Such as high price of cooking oil, or information about price of pertalite. Our chats in the cheap coffee shops untill to expensive coffee shops maybe it could be the cause of student demonstrations, or the formed communities because they have a common goal. That is radio, although nowadays it has been replaced by vlogs, tiktok, or podcasts on youtube, but at least we feel its existence, even at environmental security posts or in vehicles playing audio tapes.

Abstract

Food Waste adalah limbah rumah tangga berbentuk sisa makanan yang telah diolah. Fenomena ini terjadi akibat perilaku konsumtif masyarakat yang boros dan menyia-nyiakan makanan. Melalui kegiatan abdimas, tim Polimedia yang terdiri dari lima orang dosen dan lima orang mahasiswa bermitra dengan Badan Pangan Nasional. Kemitraan ini bekerja bersama membuat buku cerita bergambar (cergam) yang berjudul "Boni dan Makanan“. Proyek cergam ini merupakan bentuk sosialisasi yang dilakukan kepada masyarakat dengan sasaran usia enam hingga dua belas tahun. Sebagai evaluasi, luaran proyek ini dilakukan secara storytelling pada sejumlah siswa Sekolah Dasar untuk mengetahui respon mereka.Kata Kunci: Food waste; cergam; sosialisasi.

Abstract

The purpose of this article is to provide the public with an understanding of the important role of printing techniques in the past time. The methodology used by author is based on literature studies, The results of this research reveal, books and posters are two secondary communication media that record printing techniques at important times in history of the world, namely when the European continent experienced what is called a rebirth or renaissance, and the starting point for the birth of the Industrial Revolution which has continued to this day. The author found that during the excavation of ancient knowledge, printing techniques contributed to the dissemination of various ancient literature which was redesigned with text arrangements and graphic elements in the form of literacy which was read by the public, studied, and ultimately was able to rebuild a more modern and modern civilization collective. Even during the Industrial Revolution, printing techniques were used on posters to disseminate commercial and informational messages. Thus, the author concludes that printing techniques are important not only in disseminating knowledge and creating art work as the the books and posters, but also as an interesting historical study for the wider public to understandKeywords: Printing techniques, books and posters, renaissance and industrial revolution

Abstract

This study aims to explore the influence of group discussions on the improvement of students' speaking skills in English. Using a qualitative approach with a case study method, this research involves 15 students who participated in group discussions in the English class. Data were collected through in-depth interviews and direct observations during the discussion sessions. The research results show that group discussions significantly enhance students' confidence, comfort, and engagement in communication. As many as 80% of respondents reported an increase in confidence, while 75% felt more comfortable expressing their ideas. Additionally, the frequency of verbal interactions increased by 60%, indicating that students are more actively participating in discussions. These findings affirm that the collaborative environment created through group discussions contributes to the development of speaking skills. This research has practical implications for English language teaching, where group discussion methods can be integrated into the curriculum to enhance students' speaking skills. Abstract

Kesenjangan akses dan kesempatan disebabkan oleh fakta bahwa pengembangan TIK dan potensi ekonomi kreatif belum sepenuhnya inklusif terhadap kebutuhan penyandang disabilitas. Tujuan dari program TIK Nasional untuk Disabilitas ini adalah untuk membantu penyandang disabilitas memahami pentingnya produksi konten agar mereka dapat berpartisipasi aktif dalam ekonomi digital. Menggunakan pendekatan pembelajaran campuran dengan enam sesi daring langsung dan sebelas sesi pembelajaran tatap muka, penelitian ini melibatkan 884 siswa dari berbagai jenis disabilitas di Wilayah 1, termasuk 15 siswa dengan disabilitas Tuli di Kelas R1 PG CC B5. Hasilnya menunjukkan peningkatan pemahaman peserta disabilitas Tuli tentang konsep pembuat konten dan kemampuan mereka dalam menghasilkan ide konten. Dinyatakan bahwa pelatihan yang inklusif dan adaptif sangat efektif dalam membantu penyandang disabilitas berpartisipasi dalam TIK.
