Abstract

This study aims to analyze the application of Uppsala Theory to export MSMEs in Indonesia. The main focus of this research is to analyze the relationship between Uppsala Theory and exporting MSMEs in Indonesia. This research is important because MSMEs have a strategic role in the Indonesian economy and exportation is one of the important factors in economic growth in Indonesia. Descriptive qualitative method was used in this research, with a case study analysis on coffee MSMEs in Pasuruan, Indonesia. The results show that the internationalization process explained through Uppsala Theory can be used to explain the internationalization process of coffee MSMEs in Pasuruan. The Uppsala model is also useful in helping coffee MSMEs in Pasuruan improve their business activities in the international market

Abstract

This research aims to investigate the dynamics of internationalization among wood processing SMEs, examining the relationship between digital marketing strategies (X1), financial management practices (X2), financial literacy (X3), and export performance. With globalization reshaping markets, SMEs engaged in wood processing face opportunities and challenges in entering global markets. Through a mixed-methods approach, including quantitative analysis and interviews with industry experts, this study delves into the mechanisms through which digital marketing initiatives, effective financial management, and increased financial literacy contribute to the export success of wood processing SMEs. The research population includes wood processing SMEs actively involved in export, while the sample is purposively selected. Samples of this research are 136 MSMEs.Data were obtained through structured surveys and in-depth interviews with industry stakeholders. Data analysis techniques include regression analysis to test the relationship between independent variables (X1, X2, and X3) and the dependent variable (export performance). The findings indicate that digital marketing practices, effective financial management, and high financial literacy significantly contribute to enhancing the export performance of wood processing SMEs, with practical implications for the development of better strategies in facing global markets.

Abstract

The development of technological knowledge of SMEs is increasing, and the dynamics in the global economy had a significant effect on SMEs. SMEs need to expand their market share to expand in international markets. This research examined the effects of brand awareness and perceived quality on the internationalization process of SMEs that were carried out on 367 SMEs in Madura. The research results indicated that the brand awareness variable had no significant effect on the internationalization process of SMEs. The significance value was more significant than 0.05, namely 0.079 > 0.05, and had a smaller tcount than ttable, namely 1.760 < 1.966. Meanwhile, the perceived quality variable had a significant effect on the internationalization process of SMEs because the significance value obtained was smaller than 0.05, namely 0.000 < 0.05, and had a greater tcount than ttable, namely 8.671 > 1.966. The variables of brand awareness and perceived quality simultaneously had a significant effect on the internationalization process of SMEs. Based on the results of the F-test on the comparison between Fcount > Ftable, the Fcount was 61.817, or more significant than Ftable, 3.01. The analysis results showed that the magnitude of the effects of brand awareness and perceived quality on the internationalization process of SMEs was only 24.9%. The remaining 75.1% might be affected by variables not mentioned in this research.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the influence of entrepreneurial orientation on business networking and Competitive Advantage and its impact on the export-import performance of Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) in the Arab Embong Village, Malang City. A survey method was employed to collect data from MSMEs operating in the village. Hypothesis testing was conducted using multiple regression analysis. The results show that entrepreneurial orientation has a significant influence on the formation of business networks. Furthermore, it was found that business networking has a positive and significant impact on the export-import performance of MSMEs. The implications of these findings underscore the importance of developing entrepreneurial orientation and fostering business networking for MSMEs to enhance their export-import performance. Therefore, it is recommended that the government and relevant institutions provide support and guidance to MSMEs in developing entrepreneurial skills and expanding their business networks.

Abstract

This study investigates the influence of work capability, leadership style, and work motivation on the performance of Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) in the context of internationalization. The method of analysis used is path analysis to test the relationships between variables. The research sample of 135 respondents was chosen to consist of employees working in the industry of breeding worms, rats, and animals for medical purposes in Indonesia. Data were collected through questionnaires distributed to respondents. The results of path analysis indicate a significant positive influence of work capability, leadership style, and work motivation on the performance of MSMEs in the context of internationalization. The implications of these findings underscore the importance of developing work capability, implementing effective leadership styles, and enhancing work motivation to improve the performance of MSMEs in facing the challenges of internationalization.

Abstract

This study aims to: (a) describe the internationalization strategy of SMEs in the export-oriented creative industry of Kendang Djembe, Blitar, (b) identify the strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threaths of the internationalization process of the export-oriented creative industries of SMEs, especially in the Kendang Djembe industry in Blitar, East Java. Indonesia. The approach used in this study is a SWOT analysis with an internal-external matrix (IFAS & EFAS) to 4 SMEs, which are 10 key informants of exportir Kendang Djembe in Blitar. The results show that Kendang Djembe Creative Industry SMEs in Blitar have good strengths and opportunities in improving their international processes. Based on internal and external factors, these SMEs are in a growth position (in caution condition). Thus, the suitable internationalization strategy to be developed are the SO, ST, WO and WT strategy, that are: adding online marketing networks (or other collectors), diversifying products beyond the main product, optimizing the role of associations related to product delivery cooperation, improving technology skills through training or independently learning and lobbying the government regarding the ease of export policies conditions.
