Abstract

The problem raised in the study is how to control lights and air conditioners automatically via a smartphone with reliability and power efficiency. A home automation system for the use of lights and air conditioners works according to weather and temperature conditions using LDR sensors and DHT11 sensors from anywhere via the internet network so that it can identify and monitor the device in an on or off-state. For this reason, a design of a home control system is needed that can help users identify and monitor electronic devices remotely through a user interface, or automatically. This study aims to design a home automation system based on a Wireless Sensor Network (WSN) so that it can be used to control lights and air conditioners automatically and flexibly. In addition, this study also measures and analyzes Quality of Service (QoS) using delay parameters, packet loss, and throughput according to the TIPHON standard. From this study, the results of the tests carried out for the control function of electronic equipment connected to the home automation system using ESP8266, LDR, and Relay Node can function properly, while the network quality test according to the Quality of Service (QoS) Analysis using the TIPHON standard obtained results for Delay is 154.6 ms can be categorized as Good, while for the quality of the Loss packet it is 0.0033% with an outstanding category, while for the Throughput value is 2.2996 kbps which is categorized as bad.

Abstract

Based on data obtained from SPAN-PTKIN registrants in 2018 and 2019, the number of interested people through the invitation path who chose the study program at UIN Alauddin as the first choice was 30523 records. Analysis using the ID3 algorithm found that those who interested in the study of religions were more dominant from vocational students. While analysis using the K-Means shows the regions / regencies from which those interested in study programs of religions are spread in 35 regencies / cities. It can be concluded that the socialization of study programs of religions through the invitation path is recommended to be more focused on SMAs that are located in 33 districts / cities as identified in cluster 3. The study programs of religions are prioritized, because these study programs experienced the lowest number of registrants. It is expected that by implementing this recommended strategy, the number of interested prospective new students will draw a significant increase in the future.

Abstract

Abstract

This study aims to develop a digital technology-based evaluation platform to support Indonesia’s super priority tourism destination (DPSP) program. The platform utilizes tourist review data obtained from Google Maps, which is processed using sentiment analysis based on the Naïve Bayes algorithm and scraping techniques. By collecting and analyzing data in real time, this research provides accurate and relevant information about tourist opinions regarding tourism destinations. The implementation of this system is expected to enhance the effectiveness of tourism destination evaluations and support data-driven decision-making. The test result shows a model accuracy of 75%, with tourist reviews classified into positive, negative, and neutral classes. Further development is recommended to add more data sources and improve model accuracy.

Abstract

The escalating volume of urban waste in Indonesia presents a serious challenge, exacerbated by conventional reporting mechanisms that are slow and inefficient. This study aims to develop and evaluate E-Trash, a Location-Based Services (LBS) application designed to accelerate the workflow of participatory waste reporting, handling, and monitoring in Makassar City. The novelty of this research lies in the synergistic integration of citizen reporting, real-time bidirectional notifications between reporters and field officers, and a spatial monitoring dashboard for policymakers, validated through direct, real-world implementation. The research methodology employs a software engineering approach utilizing a prototype model. System validation was conducted in three stages: black-box testing on 24 core features, performance testing under various bandwidth conditions, and a two-week field trial involving community members and sanitation personnel in two sub-districts. The findings robustly conclude that the E-Trash application effectively leverages a digital, Location-Based Services (LBS) approach to significantly enhance citizen participation in waste reporting and improve the response efficiency of sanitation personnel. The system demonstrated optimal functionality across diverse network conditions and device types, with stable response times and a high data transmission success rate affirming its reliability. Field implementation notably yielded a reduction in illegal waste accumulation and an increase in overall handling efficiency, primarily facilitated by the bidirectional notification system between citizens and sanitation teams. Consequently, E-Trash emerges as a highly viable candidate for replication in other urban settings, serving as a robust, community-participation-centric smart solution for sustainable urban sanitation management.
