Abstract

A person with malnutrition is at risk of a decrease in the body's immune system and get sick. Otherwise, being sick can affect a decrease in nutritional status. Several research shows that the nutritional status of patients in hospitals is quite diverse, but tends to be malnutrition. This study aims to overview of the initial nutritional status of inpatients with degenerative and infectious diseases. The type of this study is a descriptive observational study. Data collection used secondary data from the daily reports of nutritionists at Sawerigading Hospital Palopo City in January - December 2020. The sample selection used a purposive sampling technique with inclusion criteria having records of weighing and measuring height. Data analysis used IBM SPSS Statistics version 24 program and presented in cross-tabulation. The results showed that the total number of subjects was 591 people. The percentage of disease groups in inpatients was mostly degenerative disease 326 (55.2%) and based on nutritional status most of them with normal nutritional status 354 people (59.9%). The proportion of subjects with overweight and obese was mostly hospitalized due to degenerative diseases, while the proportion of underweight was mostly hospitalized due to infectious diseases. There is a tendency for differences in nutritional status in patients with degenerative disease groups and infectious diseases groups.   Abstrak: Seseorang dengan malnutrisi berisiko mengalami penurunan daya tahan tubuh yang menyebabkan mudah sakit. Sebaliknya pada kondisi sedang sakit dapat mempengaruhi penurunan status gizi. Beberapa hasil penelitian menunjukan gambaran status gizi pasien di rumah sakit cukup beragam, namun cenderung dalam kondisi malnutrisi. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk untuk mengetahui gambaran status gizi awal pasien rawat inap dengan penyakit degeneratif dan penyakit infeksi. Jenis penelitian yang dilakukan adalah penelitian observasional deskriptif. Pengumpulan data menggunakan data sekunder dari laporan harian ahli gizi di Rumah Sakit Sawerigading Kota Palopo pada bulan Januari - Desember 2020. Pemilihan sampel menggunakan teknik purposive sampling dengan kriteria inklusi memiliki catatan penimbangan berat badan dan pengukuran tinggi badan. Analisis data mengunakan program IBM SPSS Statistics versi 24 dan disajikan dalam bentuk tabulasi silang. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa total subjek adalah 591 orang. Persentase kelompok penyakit pada pasien rawat inap sebagian besar adalah penyakit degenerative 326 (55.2%) dan berdasarkan status gizi sebagian besar dengan status gizi normal 354 orang (59.9%). Proporsi subjek dengan status gizi kegemukan dan obesitas sebagian besar dirawat inap karena penyakit degenerative, sedangkan proporsi status gizi kurang sebagian besar dirawat inap karena penyakit infeksi. Ada kecenderungan perbedaan status gizi pada pasien kelompok penyakit degeneratif dengan penyakit infeksi.

Abstract

The double burden of malnutrition, especially on women, continues to increase, including in Makassar City, Indonesia. The prevalence of malnutrition is quite high based on BMI category in the adult female population aged >18 years in Makassar City, namely thin (8.64%), fat (14.33%), and obese (29.75%). This study aims to compare factors related to undernutrition and overnutrition status in women of childbearing age (WUS) in Makassar District. This research is a cross-sectional study of suburban women aged 16–44 years at the Bara-baraya Community Health Center, Makassar District using a quota sampling technique for two months. Anthropometric measurements were carried out to determine nutritional status, calorie and protein intake were measured using a 24-hour recall questionnaire, and a structured questionnaire to determine the characteristics of respondents. The statistical test used is the Chi Square test. The prevalence of undernutrition, normal and overnutrition in the WUS group was 8.3%, 46.9% and 44.8%, respectively. There is a significant relationship between energy intake (p=0.032), dietary diversity (p=0.025), nutritional knowledge (p=0.029), and education (p=0.009) with nutritional status in women of childbearing age. No significant relationship was found between protein intake, occupation, economic status and age with nutritional status among women of reproductive age (p>0.05).

Abstract

Obesitas merupakan istilah yang digunakan untuk menunjukan adanya penumpukan lemak tubuh yang melebihi batas normal. Hasil Riset Kesehatan Dasar tahun 2018, prevalensi obesitas pada penduduk Indonesia berusia > 18 tahun semakin meningkat dari tahun 2013 sebesar 15.4% menjadi 21.8% ditahun 2018. Masalah kelebihan berat badan hingga obesitas merupakan faktor penting yang harus selalu dipantau karena merupakan faktor resiko penyakit-penyakit tertentu yang selanjutnya dapat mempengaruhi produktivitas kerja seseorang. Pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini dilaksanakan dalam rangka memperingati Hari Gizi Nasional berlangsung selama satu hari di Pelataran Universitas Megaresky dengan kegiatan berupa penimbangan berat badan, pengukuran tinggi badan, dan pengukuran lemak tubuh. Peserta dengan indeks massa tubuh dan persen lemak tubuh diatas normal diberikan edukasi secara lisan terkaiat berat badan dan lemak tubuh yang ideal. Peserta dapat mengetahui status gizi dan persen lemak tubuh mereka sehingga mereka dapat mengupayakan untuk mencapai status gizi yang normal bagi peserta dengan kategori status gizi kurang atau obesitas serta mempertahankan status gizi yang sudah normal.

Abstract

Pengabdianini bertujuan untuk mengukur prevalensi gizi kurangpada anak sekolah dan memberikan gambaran terkait distribusi umur, jenis kelamin, serta status gizi berdasarkan Indeks Massa Tubuh terhadap Usia (IMT/U). Penelitian dilakukan di Sekolah Dasar Negeri 5 Tamalatea, Kabupaten Jeneponto, dengan melibatkan 60 responden. Hasil penelitian menunjukkanrata-rata umur responden adalah 10,8 ± 0,9 tahun, dengan mayoritas responden berusia lebih dari 10 tahun (68,4%). Dari segi jenis kelamin, perempuan mendominasi dengan proporsi 56,7%, sementara laki-laki sebesar 43,3%. Rata-rata IMT responden tercatat sebesar 16,8 ± 2,8, menunjukkan variasi yang cukup besar dalam status gizi. Sebagian besar responden (73,3%) memiliki status gizi normal, sementara 11,7% mengalami gizi kurang dan 15,0% mengalami gizi lebih. Pemeriksaan status gizi dilakukan menggunakan alat yang akurat, diikuti dengan edukasi terkait pentingnya perilaku gizi seimbang. Temuan menunjukkan bahwa mayoritas responden berada dalam kondisi gizi baik, namun terdapat kelompok kecil yang mengalami masalah gizi, baik gizi kurang maupun gizi lebih, yang memerlukan perhatian khusus.Kesimpulan, pentingnya pemantauan status gizi anak sekolah secara berkelanjutan untuk mengidentifikasi masalah gizi lebih dini. Hasil ini diharapkan dapat menjadi dasar untuk menyusun intervensi strategis, seperti promosi pola makan sehat dan peningkatan aktivitas fisik, guna mendukung pertumbuhan optimal anak dan mencegah dampak negatif jangka panjang dari masalah gizi.

Abstract

Introduction: Coronary heart disease (CHD) is a leading cause of mortality among the elderly. Promoting healthy lifestyles through balanced diets and regular physical activity is essential for prevention programs. However, the availability of standardized and validated instruments to measure knowledge of healthy lifestyles among elderly individuals is still limited, particularly in Indonesia. This study aimed to develop and validate a knowledge questionnaire focusing on diet and physical activity for elderly individuals at risk of CVD. Methods: A mixed-method validation was conducted, involving qualitative and quantitative approaches. First, content validity was assessed by experts in community nutrition, clinical nutrition, and sport nutrition (n = 8) using the Content Validity Index (CVI) and multi-rates Kappa statistics. Second, face validity was tested with elderly participants (n = 10) to ensure clarity and comprehension. Finally, item validity and reliability testing were examined with elderly participants (n = 30) using the Pearson correlation test between item-total score and Cronbach’s Alpha to determine internal consistency. Results: The I-CVI values for all items ranged from 0,75 to 1,00, and Kappa statistics from 0,72 to 1,00, indicating good to excellent agreement among experts. Face validation confirmed that most items were relevant and understandable, with brief wording adjustments required for clarity. The Cronbach’s alpha of 0,742 reflected good internal consistency. Overall, the validation process demonstrated that 19 of 28 items met the statistical criteria. Conclusion: The healthy lifestyle knowledge questionnaire demonstrated strong validity and reliability in assessing knowledge among elderly individuals at risk of CHD. This instrument is practical and applicable for supporting health promotion and prevention programs focusing on diet and physical activity.
