Abstract

This research intended to analyze the impact of the invited speakers on students’ confidence in speaking English and the causes of students' self-confidence insufficiency in speaking English. This research was qualitative. This research was conducted in STIKes Bina Cipta Husada Purwokerto. Two public health students were the subjects of this research. Observation and interview were conducted to collect the data. Then, the data was analyzed using three steps such as data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. The result obtained that there are some impacts of the invited native speakers on students' self-confidence in speaking English such as increasing students' confidence, evaluating themselves to communicate with others, and increasing students' vocabulary and pronunciation. Meanwhile, the causes of students' self-confidence insufficiency in speaking English such as lack of pronunciation and vocabulary, and also fear of making mistakes.

Abstract

This research intended to find out the reasons for students’ cheating, the applications used by students to cheat, and the solutions for educators to avoid students from cheating. This research used a mixed method. This research was conducted in STIKes Bina Cipta Husada Purwokerto. 16 students of Clinical and Community Pharmacy and two English lecturers were the subjects of this research. Questionnaires and interviews were conducted to collect the data. Then, the data was analyzed using data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. The result obtained that there are four reasons for students’ cheating such as unconfident to do exams, lack of motivation, dislike of English, and social situational factors. Meanwhile, the applications employed by students to cheat on exams such as Gemini, DeepL, Bing, Roboguru, and Question. AI. To overcome students’ cheating problems, educators can do many things such as make anti-cheating pledges, different versions of tests, switch seating on every test day, use a questions pool, and application to detect plagiarism, and give compliments to students.

Abstract

This research intended to find out students’ perspectives on the implementation of the "Clash of Champions" game in English subject at STIKes Bina Cipta Husada Purwokerto. This research was qualitative. This research was conducted on Applied Medical Laboratory Technology students of STIKes Bina Cipta Husada Purwokerto. Seven students from that study program were the subjects of this research. An open-ended questionnaire and naturalistic observation were conducted to collect the data. Then, the data was analyzed using three steps: data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. The result obtained that students agreed that the game gave them new experiences, glad feelings, challenge, to understand the material well, and establish solidarity among themselves. The students also can master the material well proven by the existence of a question and answer session between researchers and students at the end of the learning activity about the material given. All students can understand and apply it in everyday life. This can also answer the questions from this research.

Abstract

Information digitization is one of the steps that can be taken to improve public services. One example of the use of information digitization is the creation and uploading of village profiles on YouTube to introduce villages to the general public. At this time, video village profiles are essential for various purposes, such as mapping village potential, branding, and program socialization. Village governments often have difficulty creating profiles for this video, especially in Lanpasa Village. The method used in Community Service (PKM) is to use Science and Technology Substitution. Lanpasa Village is one of the villages in Seruyan Raya District, Seruyan Regency, Central Kalimantan Province. Thus, this Community Service (PKM) aims to make a profile video of Lanpasa Village. Lanpasa Village profile video, in this video describes the geographical location, economic conditions, education, and social conditions as well as the potential resources of Lanpasa Village. The creation of this profile video is expected to introduce various aspects of the village's excellence, such as natural beauty, cultural wealth, and distinctive products, to a wider audience.
