Purpose: This study aims to determine whether there is a relationship and description of the intensity of social interaction with articulation skills in children with Hearing Impairment at SLB YRTRW Surakarta. Methods: This research is a quantitative study using descriptive methods through a correlational design. The sampling technique was carried out by purposive sampling with a population of 108 people and a sample of 25 people. Research Results: Based on the research results obtained from data analysis using the Spearman rank analysis test there is a significance value (ρ) of 0.292, which means a significance value (ρ) > 0.05. Then the null hypothesis (Ho) is accepted and the alternative hypothesis (Ha) is rejected. The correlation coefficient (r) between the intensity of social interaction and articulation skills is (r) = -0.219, which means that it has no relationship with weak strength. Conclusion: There is no relationship between the intensity of social interaction and articulation skills in children with Hearing Impairment at SLB YRTRW Surakarta. Abstract

Background: The use of AAC (augmentative alternative communication) as a communication used for people with cerebral palsy needs to be used habitually in the living environment of people with cerebral palsy. The habituation refers to the behavioristic theory that language development requires a habituation exercise with the use of operant conditioning. Objectives: This study aims to determine the effect of the application of augmentative alternative communication on receptive language skills in children with cerebral palsy at Yayasan Pangon Utomo Surakarta. Methods: This type of research is experimental research with a quantitative approach. This study uses a one group pretest-posttest design where in this study make observations before receiving treatment and compare with the results of observations after receiving treatment. The population in this study were cerebral palsy children and the samples used amounted to 10 cerebral palsy children at the Pangon Utomo Foundation Surakarta. The test used is the Wilcoxon test. Results: The results of the pretest and posttest showed that there was no difference in the decrease obtained from the negative ranks value, but there was an increase of 9 people obtained from the positive ranks value and there was the same value between the pretest and posttest of 1 person. In the Wilcoxon test table, a P value (sig) of 0.006 was obtained, indicating that the P value (Sig) <0.05. Conclusion: There is an effect of the application of augmentative alternative communication on receptive language skills in children with cerebral palsy at the Pangon Utomo Foundation. Abstract

Abstract Background: The education of children of preschool age is closely related to the development of children's literacy skills. The lack of readiness of early literacy skills will affect the child's success in communicating and speaking with their environment. Based on a survey conducted by the Program for International Student Assessment (PISA) released by the Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) in 2019. Indonesia ranks 62nd out of 70 countries related to literacy rate, or is in the bottom 10 countries that have low literacy levels. Objectives: analyze the Corellation of Early Literacy Skills with Word-Level Expressive Language Skills in Preschool-Age Children at RA Sunan Ampel Al-Jauhar Ngawi. Methods: This study was a quantitative study using an observational analytic research design with a cross sectional approach. The sample size of this study was 32 respondents aged 3–6 years (preschool). The statistical test used in this study was the Kendall Tau test. Results: The Kendall's tau test results revealed that a significance value of 0.000 was obtained with corellation coefficient or a r value of 0.603 which means that the correlation value is strong and positive, so Alternative hypotheses is accepted. This means that there is a strong relationship between early literacy skills and word-level expressive language skills. The better the early literacy skills, the better the expressive language skills of children is, and vice versa. Conclusion: There is a strong and positive correlation between early literacy skills and expressive language skills in preschool children.
