Abstract

This paper aims to develop ESP Supplementary book for mechanical engineering students in high level education. This is a Borg & Gall Research and Development (R&D) by using questionnaire and unstructured interview instrument. The research subject is 20 fourth semester students of mechanical engineering major in UNU Blitar. The limitation of this study is developing ESP supplementary book based PBL with engineering materials as the topic of the book. The process development of Engineering Materials Supplementary Book Based on ESP and PBL consists of some steps those are (1) Need analysis; (2) Product arrangement; (3) Product testing; and (4) Product revision if it is necessary. This research finds that the supplementary book is valid in three aspects of media (77.5%), content (83.3%) and language (83.3%) and feasible to use as supplement material for the mechanical engineering students. Based on the satisfaction questionnaire this product is appropriate for the mechanical engineering students to learn about English for Specific Purposes in form of Project Based Learning model implementation in percentage about 80% agree and 15% very agree.

Abstract

Considering the limitation of use learning media in English subjects in junior high school the use of learning media to hone listening skills has never been given to students. Even though audio media is needed to make easy for teacher to hone the student listening skill and to make easy for student to understand English pronunciation and conversation. Therefore, researchers developed Audio Media in English Subjects for 7th grade. This study aims to develop learning media in the form of Audio or Mp3 and see how the feasibility of the media in order to produce valid, effective and responsive media. The data research survey was to use observation, unstructured interviewed and questionnaire for research and development of Audio Media which was suitable to use by media experts, material experts, English teachers and student responses. This research uses Research and Development methods. The development procedure follows the Borg and Gall in Sugiyono (2015) procedure carried out by involving the ten main steps however this research is simply to use six stages. The results of this research found that media audio have good feasibility according to media experts get a proportion of 82%, material experts 82%, teachers’ assessment 77% and students’ responses 71% which means that this Learning Media is "Good /Valid" to use.

Abstract

This research and development aimed to represent the process and results of developing pop-up book media for teaching vocabulary in descriptive text material. The research subject was 28 students of VII-A grade at MTs Sirojut Tholibiin. The development procedure referred to ADDIE model. Observation, questionnaire and interview techniques were used as information gathering in preliminary study. Meanwhile, to decide the feasibility of pop-up book product, researchers used questionnaire instrument given to content and media experts. Then, the student response questionnaire to find out the level of student satisfaction with media. According to the assessment of content expert, it obtained score of 92% which had very good category. From media expert, it achieved score of 75% which was classified in good category. Furthermore, the result of student response questionnaire also got score of 75% in good category. Based on the overall assessment, the development of pop-up book learning media on descriptive text material with animal themes for seventh grade was declared feasible and suitable to be used in teaching and learning activities. Keywords:  ADDIE Model; Descriptive Text; Pop-up Book

Abstract

This research and development aims to represent the process and results of wordwall media development for teaching reading skills on recount text material. The research subject was class X IPA 5 MA Ma'arif Udanawu. The development procedure refers to the model ADDIE. Analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation are the five steps of the ADDIE paradigm. Observation and interview techniques were used as information gathering in the preliminary study. Meanwhile, to determine the feasibility of wordwall products, researchers used a questionnaire instrument that was given to content and media experts. Then a student response questionnaire was conducted to determine the level of student satisfaction with the media. A score of 96% was obtained in the very good category, per the evaluation of the material specialists. A rating of from media professionals is 92% was obtained which was classified in the Very Good category. In addition, the results of the student response questionnaire also scored 84% in the good category. Based on the overall assessment, the development of wordwall learning media in recount text material providing information for class X IPA 5 students can be declared feasible and suitable for use in teaching and learning activities.

Abstract

This research is to determine the processes and the results of developing Gartic.io on past tenses to teach students vocabulary in the 8th B Class of SMPN 5 BLITAR. Learning language is one of the many things that students learn in school. English is one of the languages students learn at school, in the learning processes one of the most effective ways to support student learning is through the use of media. Research and Development (R&D) employing the ADDIE model used by researcher in this study. Observation, interview, and questionnaire used to collect data from students. 82.5% on instrument validation which is considered “valid”, 87.5% on material expert validation which is considered “very valid”, and 77.5% on media expert validation which is considered “valid”. Second questionnaire for getting the students’ responses about the media obtain 74% which is considered “valid”.
