Abstract

Latent Dirichlet Allocation (LDA) is a probability model for grouping hidden topics in documents by the number of predefined topics. If conducted incorrectly, determining the amount of K topics will result in limited word correlation with topics. Too large or too small number of K topics causes inaccuracies in grouping topics in the formation of training models. This study aims to determine the optimal number of corpus topics in the LDA method using the maximum likelihood and Minimum Description Length (MDL) approach. The experimental process uses Indonesian news articles with the number of documents at 25, 50, 90, and 600; in each document, the numbers of words are 3898, 7760, 13005, and 4365. The results show that the maximum likelihood and MDL approach result in the same number of optimal topics. The optimal number of topics is influenced by alpha and beta parameters. In addition, the number of documents does not affect the computation times but the number of words does. Computational times for each of those datasets are 2.9721, 6.49637, 13.2967, and 3.7152 seconds. The optimisation model has resulted in many LDA topics as a classification model. This experiment shows that the highest average accuracy is 61% with alpha 0.1 and beta 0.001.

Abstract

Indonesia has a border dispute in the Malacca Strait with the neighboring country, Malaysia, which results in undelimited waters areas. This research aims to analyze the impact of Indonesian government policies on Malaysia related to undelimited waters in the Malacca Strait according to the Theory of Sovereignty. This study is a qualitative study that uses a case study approach. The data obtained from the literature study came from several scientific articles and government documents, interviews with several informants, and direct observations of the object under study. In this research, the level of problems will be seen through the impact of incidents in undelimited waters in the Strait of Malacca on Indonesia-Malaysia relations. The incident is already at an alarming stage because there have been clashes that threaten the safety of ships and lives, that might cause conflict/use of violence, and threaten bilateral relations. This study found that the priority of the Government of Indonesia's policy in upholding sovereignty in border areas in Indonesia is carried out using a security and community welfare approach. To minimize incidents that occur between the two countries in overlapping areas, bilateral relations are enhanced through coordinated patrols

Abstract

User Interface (UI) design is one of the current specialized jobs so that there are special vacancies for the profession of UI designer. Along with this phenomenon, there are still schools that do not have a mobile application to facilitate their management, including asset data management. This study aims to add references on UI design along with how to test the design that can be implemented by programmers more easily. The design testing process is carried out using usability testing. Usability measurements are carried out on three parameters, namely effectiveness, efficiency, and satisfaction. The results obtained that as one of the solution recommendations, a mobile prototype was designed with the main features including the Borrow Page and Asset Borrowing Form. From the results of testing the prototype, the results obtained that the prototype that had been created obtained an Effectiveness aspect value of 100%, Efficiency of 0.152 goals/sec, and a SUS Score of 92 (Best Imaginable)

Abstract

The large number of textual documents in the medical field makes it very difficult for readers to obtain comprehensive information. Users usually use a query approach to get the desired information. Using the correct query will produce relevant information. In the existing discriminative marginalized probabilistic neural method, referred to as DAMEN, used for multi-document summarization, a background sentence query is used to retrieve the top-K relevant documents and then generate a summary of these documents. However, the background sentence query used to retrieve the top-K documents did not provide accurate summary results. The author improved the DAMEN model by adding a keyword extraction process to the query background sentence. We call this model Q-DAMEN. Our model shows significant improvement over the original DAMEN method, with the best results achieved by the variation of using a keyword query entered into the discriminator component and a background sentence query entered into the generator component. The multipartieRank keyword extraction method shows the best results with a Rouge-1 value of 29.12, Rouge-2 of 0.79, and Rouge-L of 15.53. The results demonstrate that the more accurate the keywords extracted from the sentence background query, the more accurate the multi-document summaries generated.

Abstract Maritime security has become an increasingly strategic issue in the context of global and regional defense. The maritime domain, while serving as a key route for international trade and energy logistics, is vulnerable to exploitation by non-state actors, including pirates and maritime terrorists. Indonesia, as the world’s largest archipelagic state, faces significant maritime threats due to its vast territorial waters and its position along critical sea lanes such as the Malacca Strait and ALKI routes. This paper explores a comparative study of the Indonesian Navy (TNI AL) and the Royal Saudi Naval Forces (RSNF) in addressing maritime terrorism. Drawing on qualitative methods and doctrinal analysis, the study investigates the operational roles, strategic frameworks, and institutional responses of both navies. The research highlights key similarities, such as the deployment of elite maritime forces and inter-agency coordination, as well as differences in their international engagement and doctrinal emphasis. Through this comparison, the article identifies best practices that could strengthen Indonesia’s maritime defense posture in line with national strategic visions, such as the Asta Cita of President Prabowo Subianto. This research contributes to the academic discourse on maritime security and provides policy recommendations for enhancing naval readiness and cross-border maritime cooperation. The study underscores the need for adaptive and proactive naval capabilities to secure national sovereignty amid rising transnational maritime threats.
