Abstract

The community partnership program with the title Personality Development and Leadership Communication Skills for Youth in Kampung Sejahtera Medan City is to provide knowledge of soft skills in terms of developing communication skills for adolescents in Kampung Sejahtera, Petisah Tengah Village, Medan Petisah Subdistrict, Medan City. This activity was carried out at the Kampung Sejahtera river school hall, Jalan KH. Zainul Arifin, Medan City. The implementation of this activity is carried out in the first week and end of July 2022. The method of implementation in this activity program is using lectures, group discussions, and mentoring for youth in order to improve soft skills of personality characteristics, good personality, good performance, and skills and abilities. skills in communication. The results of the activities that have been carried out in this community partnership program have provided a positive response for the youth activity participants, such as high enthusiasm in participating in the activities. In addition, some that appear that are often encountered can be given an explanation from program implementers that can increase youth's knowledge regarding the development of communication skills and skills.

Abstract

The public space and new institutions that emerged and developed within the reformed state institutions became a space for women to access women's representation and involvement which resulted in public policies that were considered important and a priority in the women's movement. Public policy has different impacts on men and women. In addition, public policy also has the capacity to both perpetuate and eliminate gender discrimination and injustice. The study entitled perspectives of male lecturers on women (wives) working in the public Sphere is to describe men's perspectives on women who work in the public sphere. The research method used in this study is qualitative in order to interpret how the perspective of male lecturers towards women who work in public spaces and whether male lecturers who have wives work in the public area provide room for negotiation in the distribution of household roles. The results of the study show that women as wives and workers in the public sphere represent a practice of the Muslim feminist movement which chooses to work not only because it fulfils the economic needs of the family, but also shows the growing awareness of their rights as a form of self-existence and their potential

Abstract

This research is motivated by the implementation of community empowerment through the Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) program which is constrained due to communication problems between the activity manager and the community targeted by the activity program. This communication problem varies, from the content or communication messages related to the program, the communicator, to the communication media. Departing from this, it is deemed necessary to have a communication strategy for CSR programs in an effort to empower the community. The purpose of this research is to find out the CSR communication strategy of PT Dwi Mitra Daya Riau in empowering the Bukit Badak community. The theories used in this research are communication strategy theory, CSR communication, and community empowerment. This type of research is descriptive with a qualitative approach using interview, documentation, and observation methods. Data analysis is carried out using qualitative descriptive analysis method, which describes the data obtained through research instruments with 5 sources, including 1 public relations person of PT Dwi Mitra Daya Riau, and 1 employee of PT Dwi Mitra Daya Riau and 3 people from the Bukit Badak community. The results of this study indicate that PT DwiMitra Daya Riau's CSR communication strategy in empowering the Bukit Badak community with the existence of Bilikom (Community Development and Communication) can help and facilitate the community to communicate directly with PT Dwi Mitra Daya Riau so that PT Dwi Mitra Daya Riau can more easily communicate directly with the Bukit Badak community so that the CSR programs that will be implemented by PT Dwi Mitra Daya Riau can be understood by the Bukit Badak community. Some of PT DwiMitra Daya Riau's Corporate programs in community empowerment such as programs in education, health, and agriculture with the CSR programs provided by PT Dwi Mitra Daya Riau hopefully can help the people in Bukit Badak

Abstract

The growth rate of plastic waste in Indonesia increases every year. The Central Statistics Agency (BPS) revealed that plastic waste in Indonesia reaches 66 million tons per year. In Hamlet 15, Pematang Johar Village, there is the Suka Mulia Garbage Bank, which has been established since 2020 and has 60 customers. The presence of this waste bank has changed waste management activities, especially plastic. Villagers have started to actively save waste and turn plastic waste into eco-bricks. Changes in waste management in the community make this research aim to analyze the process of change that occurs by using the social construction approach proposed by Berger and Luckmann. This research design is qualitative with a descriptive approach. The data in this study consisted of secondary and primary data. The results of this study found that there is a social construction model in plastic waste management, where from the externalization stage to the objectification stage, a community empowerment process occurs through the socialization of ideas and practices for making ecobricks.

Abstract

Perguruan tinggi merupakan salah satu pilar penting yang diharapkan dapat membawa perubahan bangsa, yaitu peningkatan kualitas sumber daya manusia. Kajian tentang daya saing perguruan tinggi merupakan topik yang menarik dan dipandang perlu untuk dikaji mengingat dampaknya yang sangat besar bagi kehidupan bangsa ke depan. Mewujudkan perguruan tinggi yang memiliki daya saing tinggi merupakan kebutuhan yang mutlak dan mendesak. Memiliki perguruan tinggi yang berdaya saing tinggi merupakan idaman semua perguruan tinggi dan hal ini tidak mudah untuk mencapainya. Salah satu faktor penting untuk mencapai tujuan tersebut adalah optimalisasi peran kepemimpinan. Kajian ini ditujukan untuk menjawab pertanyaan: Bagaimanakah peran kepemimpinan dalam meningkatkan daya saing perguruan tinggi. Pembahasan diawali dengan konsep daya saing, perguruan tinggi, konsep teori kepemimpinan, kepemimpinan berbasis mutu, kepemimpinan dan perubahan perguruan tinggi, kepemimpinan sebagai kekuatan untuk meningkatkan daya saing. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah metode kualitatif, dengan teknik analisis deskriptif melalui studi literatur.
