Abstract

Arsitektur adalah ilmu yang mempelajari kegiatan rancang bangun yang menggabungkan beberapa aspek seperti kegunaan, teknik dan seni, sehingga pengalaman terhadap bangunan merupakan salah satu hal yang penting untuk dieksplorasi. Selain menerima mata kuliah perancangan, mahasiswa juga mendapatkan mata kuliah teori dalam proses pembelajarannya sebagai ilmu pengetahuan bidang arsitektur dan penunjang dalam merancang.  Salah satunya adalah topik tentang arsitektur Jengki. Pada periode 1950 – 1960, dunia arsitektur di Indonesia dikejutkan dengan hadirnya arsitektur jengki. Bentuk tampilannya sangat berbeda bila dibandingkan dengan perkembangan arsitektur sebelumnya. Objek arsitektur yang dihasilkan merupakan bangunan yang sangat berbeda dari arsitektur kolonial maupun arsitektur Indis yang berkembang pada masa penjajahan tetapi bukan merupakan arsitektur tradisional. Terasa ada keunikan atau kelainan khususnya dalam menampilkan tampang (tampak depan) bangunan bila disandingkan dengan karya arsitektur yang lain, arsitektur jengki tampak berbeda, seakan-akan muncul keganjilan, memberontak dari sesuatu yang lazim (Susilo, 2009). Akan tetapi saat ini arsitektur jengki terancam punah, hal ini dikarenakan banyak orang yang memiliki rumah bergaya jengki yang melakukan renovasi terhadap rumahnya dan mengganti gaya arsitektur aslinya. Selain itu, hingga saat ini arsitektur jengki belum dikategorikan sebagai arsitektur heritage seperti arsitektur tradisional dan arsitektur kolonial, sehingga sangat mungkin pada akhirnya arsitektur jengki betul-betul menghilang. Perlu dilakukan pengenalan dan pembelajaran pada mahasiswa mengenai adanya arsitektur jengki sebagai salah satu bagian dari kekayaan arsitektur di Indonesia yang tidak dimiliki oleh bangsa lain. Untuk mendukung pembelajaran mengenai arsitektur jengki maka diberikan penugasan dimana mahasiswa diminta menganalisis bangunan arsitektur jengki terkait dengan linimasa, karakteristik arsitektur dan spirit yang dimiliki oleh arsitektur jengki, kemudian melakukan redesain pada rumah masing-masing dengan mengaplikasikan ciri-ciri arsitektur jengki. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui bagaimana penerapan metode project based learning pada penugasan mata kuliah teori dapat membantu mahasiswa lebih memahami topik perkuliahan teoritis yang diajarkan. Dari penelitian diketahui bahwa metode Project Based Learning dapat dilakukan sebagai alat belajar bagi materi yang bersifat teoritis dan dapat meningkatkan kreatifitas mahasiswa dalam desain.    Architecture is the study of building design that combines several aspects such as usability, technique and art, so that building experience is important to explore. In addition to receiving design courses in the learning process to support in designing, students also gain theoretical subjects. One of the subject is about Jengki architecture. In 1950 - 1960,  world of  Indonesia architecture was surprised by the presence of jengki architecture. The form looks very different when compared to previous architectural developments. The architectural object is a very different building from colonial and Indische architecture that developed during the colonial period but is not a traditional architecture. There is a feeling of uniqueness or abnormality, especially in displaying the appearance (facade) of a building when juxtaposed with other architectural works, jengki architecture looks different, as if anomalies appear, rebelling from something common (Susilo, 2009). However, currently the jengki architecture is threatened with extinction, this is because many people who have jengki style houses are renovating their houses and changing their original architectural styles. In addition, jengki architecture has not been categorized as heritage architecture such as traditional architecture and colonial architecture, so it is very possible that jengki architecture will completely disappear. It is necessary to introduce and learn to students about the existence of jengki architecture as a part of the architectural wealth in Indonesia that is not owned by other countries. To support learning about jengki architecture, an assignment was given where students were asked to analyze the jengki architectural buildings related to the timeline, architectural characteristics, and spirit of jengki architecture, then redesign their respective houses by applying jengki architectural features. This study aims to determine how the application of the Project Based Learning method in the assignment of theoretical courses can help students better understand the theoretical lecture topics being taught. From the research it is known that the Project Based Learning method can be done as a learning tool for theoretical material and can increase student creativity in design.

Abstract

Vocabulary is an important aspect in the process of learning English because it is needed by the students when they are learning English language skills. Therefore, teaching English in primary schools are held to provide students a larger amount of vocabulary than what they probably have before. This research is designed to improve the students’ vocabulary as well as their Tahajjud (night prayer) habit using Chain SMS sent during Tahajjud time. The method was selected because it was believed to be able overcome the problem of limited time at school and allow students to memorize vocabulary gradually since they will learn after they have enough rest and after they did they tahajjud prayer. This is a a Classroom Action Research (CAR) designed in two cycles. The subjects of this research were 29 students of the fifth grade of MI Al Mubarok Wangkal in the 2014/2015 academic year. The data of this research study were obtained through vocabulary test documentation. The findings of this research indicated that the Chain SMS in Tahajjud time was successful in improving both the students’ ability in vocabulary and the students’ Tahajjud habit. The improvement can be seen from the increase of students’ scores and the students’ individual score percentage from preliminary study to Cycle 2 both for vocabulary achievement and Tahajjud prayer habit.

Abstract

Penelitian ini dimaksudkan untuk mengetahui efektifitas dan efisiensi penggunaan sistem informasi akademik pada perguruan tinggi di Indonesia khususnya di UIN Sunan Ampel Surabaya. Tata kelola sistem informasi di perguruan tinggi UIN Sunan Ampel Surabaya sangat penting, antara lain sistem informasi penjadwalan mengajar, informasi skripsi, informasi kerja praktek, informasi kinerja, informasi tridharma dan informasi akademik lainnya. Kajian manajemen teknologi informasi di perguruan tinggi bertujuan untuk mengukur sejauh mana penerapan teknologi informasi mampu mendukung kegiatan Tri Dharma Perguruan Tinggi dalam rangka menjadi world class university. Permasalahan dalam penelitian ini adalah bagaimana mengaudit tata kelola sistem informasi penjadwalan pengajaran, informasi skripsi, informasi kerja praktek, informasi kinerja, informasi tridharma dan informasi akademik lainnya pada program studi di UIN Sunan Ampel Surabaya menurut kerangka yang baik dan benar. . bagaimana mendapatkan rekomendasi perbaikan sistem. Penelitian ini menggunakan framework COBIT untuk meningkatkan evaluasi, kualitas tata kelola sistem. Kesimpulan dari penelitian ini adalah terciptanya dokumen rekomendasi hasil audit manajemen teknologi informasi di UIN Sunan Ampel Surabaya yang berkaitan dengan evaluasi, pemantauan dan pengembangan lebih lanjut dari komponen sistem informasi yang dibutuhkan dalam integrasi sistem secara keseluruhan yang diharapkan dapat memiliki tingkat keandalan yang tinggi dalam komponen. Komponen Infrastruktur TI, Tata Kelola, Sistem, dan Pemanfaatan Aplikasi yang terintegrasi dengan sempurna.

Abstract

The COVID-19 pandemic has made many changes in the learning process system. With technology, Whatsapp has become one of the media that is widely used. This study investigates the effectiveness, problems, and solutions of WhatsApp as a virtual English learning media. This study uses a qualitative descriptive method with questionnaires and interviews as instruments. The results of the study show that Whatsapp is an effective, useful, and helpful media in learning English for students at MTsN Pasuruan. Teachers can also apply 4 skills in English Teaching with the help of the Whatsapp features. The results of this study proved that Whatsapp might be the best solution for distance learning English media. Keywords : Whatsapp, Online Learning, English Language Teaching

Abstract

Abstract In a classroom, educators are required to create or apply creative and innovative media that will influence successful learning outcomes. Comics have long been considered an interesting medium to make students engaged in learning EFL. The existing studies have investigated the effectiveness of comics in increasing students’ vocabulary acquisition through a series of tests, yet little information is explored to know how the students’ perceive comics as the best media to improve EFL attainment. This research involved 22 students from MAN 1 Lamongan by answering the questionnaire. The aim of this journal is to determine students' perspectives on the use of comics in their learning and to provide knowledge about whether students agree if comics are applied to them. From the finding it can be known that the comic has a positive result from the student perspective to be a learning medium that can improve student vocabulary. The expectation of this study is that teachers can start to use comics as a learning media to improve student vocabulary.

Abstract

This research aimed to change the behavior of Open Defecation Free (ODF) through Total Sanitation Program of Community-Based. Through Community-Based Research (CBR) approach, it was possible that participatory researchers with communities and partners (stakeholders) preparing plans, conducting and evaluating research results. The results showed that the success of the program was determined by the level of Community participation in the planning, implementation, evaluation and until program sustainability. This was shown by the emergence of Community awareness to change the behavior of Open Defecation Free (ODF) and independently able to solve the problem of sanitation based community by building the decent toilet facilities in participatory. Changing in Open Defecation Free (ODF) behavior through Total Sanitation Program of Community-Based was strongly influenced by the availability of sanitation, the support of all parties, and the changing in the community's understanding of ODF. Total Sanitation Program of Community Based-participatory-based was very effective against the effort to change the behavior of defecation carelessly.

Abstract

This article aims to find the instructional media used by Indonesian Pre-service teachers to teach vocabulary to Thai primary school and how they used those instructional media in the classroom. The method used is qualitative method with a case study approach. The result showed that Indonesian Pre-service teachers used various kinds of instructional media as aids to teach English vocabulary such as Printed Pictures as a tool and Drilling method for classroom implementation, Animated Pictures with PPP (Presentation, Practice, and production) Method, Board games with PPP(Presentation, Practice, and production) method to teach vocabulary at primary schools in Thailand. The conclusion is Indonesian Pre- service teacher used innovative and creative instructional media together with the right method will make learning more effective so that the learning objectives can be achieved.
