Abstract

This research was conducted at the Small and Medium Industry (IKM) of batik in the district of Sidoarjo, which is one of 15 districts in East Java who chose One Village One Product (OVOP) as strategies increase the power of competitiveness. There are many problems with SME batik ranging from resources, production processes to product sales, which affect the chosen competitiveness strategy. The respondents were entrepreneurs, the office of SMEs, the Ministry of Industry and Trade, the sub-district, and the village. This research aims to identify the inhibiting factors of increasing competitiveness in the small and medium batik industry in the district of Sidoarjo. The data collection process uses a questionnaire compiled with the Green Innovation approach with five main variables, Green Resource, Green Process, Green Product, Green Innovation, and Competitive Advantage. Green Innovation is a process of continuous innovation that considers the integration of the environment, finance, social systems in the company from the stage of ideas through research and development and commercialization that affect new products, services, technology, business, and organizational models. Determination of alternatives and strategy analysis using the Interpretative Structural Modeling (ISM) approach is a method that uses the opinions of experts on the questionnaire that has been distributed. Based on the analysis results, 14 inhibiting factors and six priority levels were obtained, with the highest value of the power driver in the training and outreach factor (10) as the main inhibiting factor in increasing competitiveness. Therefore, it requires the involvement of all parties related to the batik SMEs to improve their competitiveness and the strategies they choose.

Abstract

As one significant indicator of mental wellbeing, satisfaction with life plays important roles in the society and among individuals. Nevertheless, studies have stated that the formation of life satisfaction was different between before and during the pandemic. Among most people, the differences were caused by the implication of social distancing protocols, where people were not fully connected to one another without the help of electronic media; therefore, some of their social roles were altered or became less meaningful. Such changes affected the clarity of how individuals see themselves, as well as the balance of their negative and positive emotional experiences (affect balance). We hypothesized that self-concept clarity predicts life satisfaction through affect balance. We collected our data from 139 Malaysian adults aged between 18 to 60 years through various social media platforms to complete the self-concept clarity scale (SCCS), satisfaction with life scale (SWLS), and scale of positive and negative experience (SPANE). Results of the bootstrap analysis with a 95% confidence interval indicated that the affect balance partially mediated the relationship between self-concept clarity and life satisfaction.

Abstract

Abstract

PT. AFS is a Limited Liability Company engaged in catering services. One of the most important divisions in this field is in the warehousing department. Receiving is the place where the goods are entered, while the store is the place where the goods are stored for a period of time with reference to the expiration date of the product. Goods collection is done when receiving incoming goods, moving goods from the receptionist to the store, and when requesting goods from the production room. Body posture is a determining factor in analyzing the effectiveness of a warehouse operator's work. If the operator's work attitude is wrong or not ergonomic, the employee will tire easily and bone abnormalities can occur. Complaints of Musculoskeletal Disorders are complaints of skeletal muscles that are felt by a person from very mild to severe complaints. For the RULA and OWAS methods, posture analysis is only carried out in the main warehouse. The final Rapid Upper Body Limb Assessment (RULA) score for both workers was Score 7 (Action Level 4) which indicates that this condition is dangerous and requires immediate inspection and changes (on the spot). And the Ovako Work Posture Analysis System (OWAS) shows category 4 (This attitude is very dangerous for the musculoskeletal system. Needs to be corrected immediately/currently) and Category 1 (in this system problems in the musculoskeletal system don't need to be fixed).PT.
