Abstract

Abstract. The development of science and technology especially in the field of communication, makes it easier for people to convey messages. Film is one of the products of communication media, especially mass media, which functions to convey messages to the public. This movie also shows scenes that contain Islamic meanings and values. The purpose of this research is to find out the Islamic message of the movie qorin for women to take care of themselves in terms of denotative, connotative, and connotative meanings. from denotative, connotative and mythical meanings. The methodology in this research uses qualitative methods and a constructivist paradigm. Observations were made by watching and observing each scene and conversation as data and findings were taken, then documented and analyzed. This research uses Roland Barthes' semiotic theory and constructionist representation. Semiotics is the study of signs. Taking the object of research is the Islamic message and self-preservation of women in the movie Qorin and the subject is the actors involved in the film. This data collection uses observation, documentation and premiere methods. Observation is done by observing every scene and sign in the movie. Documentation comes from other sources such as literature and the internet. While the premiere method is taken from the results of interviews with sources. While the data validity test uses source triangulation. The results of this study indicate that there are Islamic messages and self-preservation in the movie Qorin in terms of denotation, connotation and myth. Islamic messages and women's self-preservation can be seen from several verses of the Qur'an, tools made of wood as a form of protection, as well as harassment and information on where to report incidents. Abstrak. Perkembangan ilmu pengetahuan dan teknologi khususnya dalam bidang komunikasi, mempermudah masyarakat untuk bisa menyampaikan pesan. Film merupakan salah satu produk media komunikasi khususnya media massa, yang berfungsi untuk menyampaikan pesan kepada masyarakat. Dalam film ini juga ditampilkan adegan-adegan yang mengandung makna dan nilai-nilai Islami. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui pesan islami film qorin bagi perempuan agar menjaga diri ditinjau dari makna denotatif, konotatif dan mitos. Metodologi dalam penelitian ini menggunakan metode kualitatif dan paradigma konstruktivis. Pengamatan dilakukan dengan melihat dan mengamati setiap adegan dan percakapan sebagai data dan temuan yang diambil, kemudian didokumentasikan dan dianalisis. Penelitian ini menggunakan teori semiotika Roland Barthes dan representasi kontruksionis. Semiotika adalah ilmu yang mempelajari tanda-tanda. Mengambil objek penelitian yakni pesan islami dan penjagaan diri pada Perempuan dalam film Qorin dan subjeknya aktor yang terlibat dalam film. Pengumpulan data ini menggunakan metode observasi, dokumentasi dan premier. Observasi dilakukan dengan mengamati setiap adegan dan tanda pada film. Dokumentasi bearasal dari sumber lain seperti literatur dan internet. Sedangkan metode premier diambil dari hasil wawancara bersama narasumber. Sementara uji keabsahan data menggunakan triangulasi sumber. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan terdapat pesan islami dan penjagaan diri pada film Qorin di tinjau dari denotasi, konotasi dan mitos. Pesan islami dan penjagaan diri Perempuan dapat dilihat dari beberapa ayat Al-Qur’an, alat yang terbuat dari bahan kayu sebagai bentuk perlindungan, serta adanya pelecehan dan informasi tempat melaporkan kejadian.

Abstract

Abstract. Basically humans need communication in dealing with daily life, involving various types of either messages or media. One of the important types of communication in persuasive communication, which has the aim of adjusting individuals they feel and are encouraged to achieve certain goals. Persuasive communication can occur in a variety of contexts, not only during interactions, but also in various circumstances where individuals have certain goals and seek to motivate others to support their achievement. For example, as shown by Buya Hamka in the film “Buya Hamka Vol.I” when he tired to mobilize support for his struggle. This research aims to understand the persuasive communication carried out by Buya Hamka as a hero. This research uses a qualitative method with a Roland Barthes semiotic approach that focuses on the meaning of denotation, connotation, and myth. Abstrak. Pada dasarnya manusia memerlukan komunikasi dalam menghadapi keseharian, melibatkan macam-macam jenis baik itu berupa pesan atau media. Salah satunya jenis komunikasi yang penting adalah komunikasi persuasif, yang memiliki tujuan untuk penyesuaian individu mereka merasa dan didorong unutuk mencapai tujuan tertentu. Komunikasi persuasif bisa terjadi dalam berbagai konteks, tidak hanya saat berinteraksi, tapi juga dalam berbagai keadaan di mana individu memiliki sasaran tertentu serta berupaya memotivasi orang lain untuk mendukung pencapaiannya. Contohnya, seperti yang ditunjukkan oleh Buya Hamka dalam Film "Buya Hamka Vol.I" ketika ia berusaha memobilisasi dukungan untuk perjuangannya. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk memahami komunikasi persuasif yang dilakukan oleh Buya Hamka sebagai seorang pahlawanan. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kualitatif dengan pendekatan semiotika Roland Barthes yang memfokuskan pada pemaknaan denotasi, konotasi, serta mitos.

Abstract

Abstract. The waste crisis in the city of Bandung is an urgent environmental issue and requires immediate handling. Effective communication between government and society is essential in overcoming this problem. This research analyzes how internal communication between government agencies and external communication with the community can increase the effectiveness of handling the waste crisis. Good internal communication helps align policies between agencies, while open and participatory external communication involves the community in finding solutions. The research results show that strong internal communication accelerates responses to crises and improves policy implementation, while effective external communication builds public trust and encourages active community participation. With integration between internal and external communications, crisis management efforts can run more efficiently and sustainably, thereby improving environmental quality and community welfare in the city of Bandung. Abstrak. Krisis sampah di Kota Bandung merupakan salah satu isu lingkungan yang mendesak dan memerlukan penanganan segera. Komunikasi yang efektif antara pemerintah dan masyarakat sangat penting dalam mengatasi masalah ini. Penelitian ini menganalisis bagaimana komunikasi internal antara instansi pemerintah dan komunikasi eksternal dengan masyarakat dapat meningkatkan efektivitas penanganan krisis sampah. Komunikasi internal yang baik membantu menyelaraskan kebijakan antar instansi, sementara komunikasi eksternal yang terbuka dan partisipatif melibatkan masyarakat dalam mencari solusi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa komunikasi internal yang kuat mempercepat respon terhadap krisis dan meningkatkan implementasi kebijakan, sedangkan komunikasi eksternal yang efektif membangun kepercayaan publik dan mendorong partisipasi aktif masyarakat. Dengan integrasi antara komunikasi internal dan eksternal, upaya penanganan krisis dapat berjalan lebih efisien dan berkelanjutan, sehingga meningkatkan kualitas lingkungan dan kesejahteraan masyarakat di Kota Bandung.

Abstract

Abstract. This study discusses the meaning and elements of culture and mysticism in the film Incantation, in which the content of this research is the result of observations regarding cultural and mystical elements. Inspired by real events in Taiwan in 2005, the film Incantation tells the story of Li Ronan, a mother who tries to protect her daughter from a curse. The curse came from Ronan who was cursed 6 years ago due to violating a taboo against a belief. The research method used is the Qualitative Research Method, with Roland Barthes' Semiotics approach as a model and the Constructivism Paradigm as a reference for this research. The results of this study indicate that there are denotative, connotative, and mythical meanings in terms of cultural and mystical elements in the film Incantation. In the end, it needs to be realized that culture is still closely related to mystical things, especially in traditional social life, with this researchers can better understand the sacredness of culture. Abstrak. Penelitian ini membahas tentang makna dan unsur budaya dan mistik dalam film Incantation, yang di mana isi dari penelitian ini merupakan hasil observasi mengenai unsur budaya dan mistik. Terinspirasi dari kejadian nyata di Taiwan pada tahun 2005, film Incantation bercerita tentang Li Ronan, seorang ibu yang berusaha melindungi anak perempuannya dari kutukan. Kutukan tersebut berasal dari Ronan yang pada 6 tahun lalu dikutuk akibat melanggar hal yang tabu terhadap suatu kepercayaan. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah Metode Penelitian Kualitatif, dengan pendekatan Semiotika Roland Barthes sebagai model serta Paradigma Konstruktivisme sebagai acuan dari penelitian ini. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa terdapat makna denotasi, konotasi, dan mitos yang ditinjau dari unsur budaya dan mistik pada film Incantation. Pada akhirnya perlu disadari bahwa budaya masih lekat kaitannya dengan hal mistis khususnya pada kehidupan bermasyarakat tradisional, dengan ini peneliti dapat lebih memahami sakralitas budaya..

Abstract

Abstract. In the era of the growth of the entertainment industry, the representation of violence in films is a critical concern that requires in-depth understanding. The theme of violence is raised in the context of research to increase understanding of the impact of violence in the media on society. This study reviews the depiction of violence as a central element in the film "The Big 4" with the aim of exploring the representation of violence shown in the film. Carrying the action-comedy genre, the movie "The Big 4" provides a tense, awe-inspiring, and entertaining experience at the same time. A qualitative research method with John Fiske's semiotic analysis approach is used to explore the television codes contained in each scene of violence. The identification of television codes in violent scenes became the focus of the research, and the results were analyzed using John Fiske's "The Codes of Television" theory. In-depth analysis was conducted on the use of levels of reality, representation of violence in various forms, ideological implications in conflict, ideological duality, causes and effects of violence, and the role of violence in character empowerment. The results highlight the complexity of human beings, ideological conflicts, and the impact of violence on characters and society. The movie is not only a work of entertainment, but also an object of research that stimulates critical thinking and reflection in the audience. Abstrak. Dalam era pertumbuhan industri hiburan, representasi kekerasan dalam film menjadi sorotan kritis yang memerlukan pemahaman mendalam. Tema kekerasan diangkat dalam konteks penelitian untuk meningkatkan pemahaman mengenai dampak kekerasan dalam media terhadap masyarakat. Penelitian ini mengulas penggambaran kekerasan sebagai elemen sentral dalam film "The Big 4" dengan tujuan untuk menggali representasi kekerasan yang ditayangkan dalam film. Mengusung genre aksi-komedi, film “The Big 4” memberikan pengalaman tegang, kagum, sekaligus terhibur dalam satu waktu. Metode penelitian kualitatif dengan pendekatan analisis semiotika John Fiske digunakan untuk mengeksplorasi kode-kode televisi yang terkandung dalam setiap adegan kekerasan. Identifikasi kode-kode televisi dalam adegan kekerasan menjadi fokus penelitian, dan hasilnya dianalisis menggunakan teori "The Codes of Television" dari John Fiske. Analisis mendalam dilakukan terhadap penggunaan level realitas, representasi kekerasan dalam berbagai bentuk, implikasi ideologis dalam konflik, dualitas ideologi, penyebab dan dampak kekerasan, serta peran kekerasan dalam pemberdayaan karakter. Hasil penelitian menyoroti kompleksitas manusia, konflik ideologis, dan dampak kekerasan pada karakter dan masyarakat. Film ini tidak hanya menjadi karya hiburan, melainkan juga objek penelitian yang merangsang pemikiran kritis dan refleksi pada penonton.

Abstract

Abstract. In this research, the researcher raises the formulation of the problem, namely how physical violence is represented in the Webseries Katharsis season 1. This research aims to reveal the issue of violent scenes contained in the film in a comprehensive and in-depth manner . This research uses a qualitative research method with Christian Metz's semiotic analysis approach. This type of research aims to determine the attitude depiction of each scene of violence in the webseries Katharsis season 1. Then the data is analyzed using Metz's 8 mapping steps from The Large Syntagmatic Analysis in Christian Metz's theory . This 48 minute webseries is divided into 5 violent segments containing 4 elements of the Christian Metz syntagma. The syntagmas contained are, Scene, Subjective Insert, Ordinary Sequence, and Explanatory Insert. The violence displayed is verbal, non-verbal and symbolic violence. Verbal violence occurs through insults and curses, non-verbal violence occurs through stabbing and beating, symbolic violence is presented through psychological manipulation by the actors. Researchers analyze the factors that cause violence that occurs in web series, such as environmental conditions and mental health as triggers for violence. Abstrak. Dalam penelitian ini, peneliti mengangkat rumusan masalah yaitu bagaimana representasi kekerasan fisik dalam Webseries Katarsis season 1. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengungkap persoalan adegan kekerasan yang terkandung di dalam film tersebut secara menyeluruh dan mendalam. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode penelitian kualitatif dengan pendekatan analisis semiotika Christian Metz, jenis penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui penggambaran sikap dari setiap scene adegan kekerasan dalam webseries Katarsis season 1. Kemudian data tersebut dianalisis dengan 8 langkah pemetaan Metz dari Analisis The Large Syntagmatic dalam teori Christian Metz. Webseries berdurasi 48 menit ini terbagi ke dalam 5 segmen kekerasan yang mengandung 4 unsur syntagma Christian Metz. Adapun syntagma yang terkandung yaitu, Scene, Subjective Insert, Ordinary Sequence, dan Explanatory Insert. Kekerasan yang ditampilkan yaitu kekerasan verbal, non-verbal, dan simbolik. Kekerasan verbal muncul lewat hinaan dan makian, kekerasan non-verbal terjadi melalui penikaman dan pemukulan, kekerasan simbolik dihadirkan lewat manipulasi psikologis oleh pemerannya. Peneliti menganalisis faktor-faktor penyebab kekerasan yang terjadi dalam webseries, seperti kondisi lingkungan dan kesehatan mental sebagai pemicu kekerasan.

The rapid flow of globalization and modernization that has hit the Indonesian nation has made character education increasingly eroded. This can be proven by seeing the decreasing character of students regarding their use of language and impolite speech. Apart from that, students' interest in reading a text is decreasing, they may not even understand what they are reading. They are more interested in their respective cellphones which are only used for playing games, watching films, and even using social media. On the other hand, teachers' lack of language skills is a factor in slowing the transfer of knowledge to students. Therefore, the role of school teachers is needed to straighten students' characters and increase their interest in reading. The way to do this is through fun language and literature learning. So, the aim of this research is that the author wants to know how to improve student character and literacy through creative digital-based literary learning media. The method used in this service is class action through teachers. The result of achieving the target of this service is an increase in the teacher's ability to strengthen student character and student interest in reading.

Abstract

Good and polite language skills for elementary school students are now starting to decline. They feel proud and dominant in using rude, dirty, and even hurtful language to their friends. If left unchecked, these bad morals will actually cause social conflict and become legal problems in the future. Of course, such problems will have a negative impact on the golden generation because they are starting to lose their humanistic national cultural identity. Not only that, the performance of teachers in teaching language and literature to students is also less creative so that it makes students feel bored to learn about Indonesian literature. In fact, literature is able to make their human resources superior and have character. Therefore, the role of strong teachers is needed in teaching and educating students related to learning Indonesian literature. One of the efforts is that teachers need to teach students using fun literary learning media. Therefore, the purpose of this community service is to provide an introduction and description to elementary school teachers about what unique language and literature learning media are. With this community service, teachers are given an understanding of the concept, type, benefits, and use of learning media. Then, another goal of this community service is that teachers are taught how to create unique and innovative literary learning media through AI computerized design. Thus, teachers can implement the learning media in SDN 193 Caringin. Of course, with the hope that it will arise in students' love for the language, literature, and culture of the archipelago.
