Abstract

Kirinyuh plant extract is one of potential antibacterial sources. Metabolite extract of kirinyuh leaf extract, which contains tannins, flavonoids, saponins, and alkaloids, is known to have antibacterial activities. In order to demonstrate the effectiveness of kirinyuh leaf extract against the bacteria Staphyloccocus aureus (SA), Baciluss subtilis (BS), Staphylococus typhimurium (BT), and Escherhicia coli (EC), this study sought to identify the prosite of bioactive compounds as well as an antibacterial. The method used was leaf extraction and several doses level treatments of 0 (control), 1, 2, 4, 3, and 5 (concentrations of 20%, 40%, 60%, 80%, and 100%, respectively). This research findings showed that kirinyuh leaf extract has modest antibacterial activity against SA, BS, and ST, but that it has considerable inhibitory effect against EC. Together, this study demonstrated the potential of Kirinyuh as a antimicrobial to specific microbial since it has widely used in our society.

Abstract

Kirinyuh (Chromolaena odorata) is one of the wild plants found that is difficult to eradicate because it has a high defense, so this plants is considered a weed plant that is detrimental to farmers and planters. However, the kirinyuh plant has the potential to be developed as an antibacterial. One of the natural ingredients that show pharmacological effects is flavonoids. This study aims to determine the antibacterial activity, and the effective concentration of kirinyuh extract in inhibiting the growth of Enterobacter sakazakii, Salmonellla typi, and Listeria monocytogenes bacteria. To get the extract used extraction method by maceration of immersion using 96% ethanol as solvent. The concentration of kirinyuh extract used was 20%, 40%, 60%, 80%, and 100%. While the positive control was used Ampicillin and negative control was used ethanol 96%, and for testing the antibacterial activity was carried out using the well difsusion method. The results of the antibacterial activity test were analyzed using ANOVA with a 95% confidance level and continued with Duncan’s Multiple Range Test (DMRT). The results showed that the extract concentrations of 20%, 40%, 60%, 80%, and 100% had given inhibitory activity to the growth of the test bacteria. At a concentration of 100%, kirinyuh extract was more effective as an antibacterial against bacteria Enterobacter sakazakii, Salmonella typi, and Listeria monocytogenes bacteria compared to other concentrations. The increase in the concentration of kirinyuh extract showed the larger the diameter of the inhibition zone for bacterial growth. The results of the inhibitory power test of kirinyuh extract against bacteria Enterobacter sakazakii with an average value of the inhibition zone of 6,66 mm, and against Salmonella typi the average value of the inhibition xone was 4,83 mm, and Listeria moncytogenes with an average value of 5, 60 mm.

Abstract

ABSTRAKPemanfaatan tanaman lokal untuk pengobatan tradisional merupakan warisan dari generasike generasi. Tanaman Kirinyuh (Chromolaena odorata) dikenal luas sebagai bahan obat khususnyadi Sumbawa untuk pengobatan luka dan pendarahan. Berbagai uji dilakukan untuk mengetahuidaya penghambatan terhadap bakteri, uji penyembuhan untuk mengetahui anti infalamasi dankemampuan antioksidan. Penelitian telah membuktikan kemampuan dari metabolit sekunder yangterkandung dalam tanaman, namun belum ada produk nyata yang dihasilkan dari pembuktianpembuktian tersebut. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menyampaikan secara luas adanya inovasiproduk lokal berbasis tanaman kirinyuh menjadi produk produk di bidang kesehatan dan obat sertahasil ujia produk yang dihasilkan. Metode penelitian yang dilakukan mencakup uji experimentalzona hambat dan efektifitas produk yang diaplikasikan secara langsung pada penggunaan produksehari hari. Penelitian ini memaparkan bahwa, potensi metabolit sekunder tanaman Kirinyuh dapatdiinovasikan pada produk bioteknologi kesehatan dengan diversifikasinya berupa sprayer antisepticdan sabun herbal. Produk yang membawa nama Kirinyuh Center telah memproduksi beberapainvasi produk seperti sprayer antiseptic dan sabun kirinyuh dan saat ini terus dikembangkan untukproduk kesehatan lainnya seperti salep, body scrub, masker wajah, serum, toner dan pasta gigi.Kata kunci: potensi lokal, Kirinyuh, produk, inovasi, kesehatan
