Abstract

This article explores the challenges and existence of madrasah diniyah (Islamic schools), one of Islamic educational institutions, that significantly contributes to the development of education in Indonesia. Nowadays, madrasah diniyah is classified into two categories, namely: madrasah diniyah takmiliyah (MDT/non-formal Islamic education) and formal diniyah/Islamic education (PDF). The existence of madrasah diniyah, as the entity of Islamic educational institutions in Indonesia, has found lots of challenges both externally and internally. Currently, the challenges in this respect are derived from the internal sector (the government/the Ministry of Education and Culture, the Republic of Indonesia). They refer to the government policy of full day school (FDS). This policy is deemed to have negative effects on eroding the existence of madrasah diniyah as the entity of Islamic educational institutions in Indonesia. Interestingly, those challenges motivate madrasah diniyah as educational institutions that emphasize social functions to communities, particularly village communities.

Abstract

This study aims at describing and analyzing the internalization of national awareness through raudlotul athfal (RA; an Islamic early childhood education institution) with the spirit of Aswaja an-Nahdliyah. Aswaja an-Nahdliyah is an ideology adopted by Nahdlatul Ulama, a major Islamic religious organization in Indonesia. This study argues that the internalization of the national awareness needs to be instilled from early age to anticipate the influence of globalization which is feared to erode the original character of a nation. Within the study, the qualitative method was adopted in order to answer two research questions: (1) how Islamic early childhood educational institutions develop nationalism awareness through the teachings of Ahlusunnah wal Jamaah; and (2) how the institutions construct the awareness of nationalism through the teachings of Ahlusunnah wal Jamaah. The results of the study show that the internalization of nationalism awareness through Islamic early childhood education institutions with the Aswaja an-Nahdliyah’s spirit has been carried out through curriculum content which has been systematically arranged in each research subject with the principle of considering early childhood characteristics. At the same time, the results of the study also show that the construction of nationalism awareness in the Islamic early childhood education institutions can be seen in Islamic holidays and national activities which were held on the Islamic early childhood institutions.

Abstract

The study was to develop a madrasa ibtidaiya quality evaluation model (MIQEM) for measuring the quality of madrasa ibtidaiya (MI), including the input, the process, the short-term outcome, and the long-term outcome. The method implemented in this research was research and development (R D). The subjects of the study were the principals and teachers of state madrasa ibtidaiya. The study concluded that: (1) the a MIQEM was developed through the product selection, review and result analysis, and model draft; (2) the implementation of the developed MIQEM was done by the principals and the teachers by operating the MIQEM instrument; (3) the results of the developed MIQEM implementation showed that it could improve madrasa ibtidaiya quality; (4) the results of the model fitness test indicated that the model was fit into the data.

Abstract

Penelitian ini mendeskripsikan sistem Madrasah Ibtidaiyah di Pekalongan menuju proses transformasi sosial, upaya analisis strategi Madrasah Ibtidaiyah dalam melakukan transformasi sosial dalam rangka menjadi madrasah trendsetter. Madrasah telah mengalami transformasi dalam sistem pendidikan nasional, madrasah tidak lagi dianggap sebagai pelengkap sistem pendidikan nasional, melainkan sebagai bagian integral dari Sisdiknas. Dengan menggunakan metode kualitatif, penelitian ini berhasil menemukan 2 (dua) hal, yaitu: (1) Sistem Madrasah Ibtidaiyah menuju proses transformasi sosial, meliputi: sistem perumusan visi dan misi, penentuan standar pendidik, sistem rekrutmen peserta didik, sistem penentuan materi kurikulum, penentuan metode pembelajaran, sistem evaluasi, sistem bina lingkungan, sistem kepemimpinan dan pengambilan keputusan, pengelolaan risiko madrasah, dan sistem organisasi model datar. (2) Strategi transformasi sosial yang dilakukan untuk menjadi madrasah trendsetter dilakukan dengan strategi pencapaian visi dan misi madrasah, peningkatan kualitas sumber daya manusia, peningkatan kualitas peserta didik, peningkatan kualitas materi, peningkatan kualitas metode pembelajaran, peningkatan strategi evaluasi dan peningkatan bina lingkungan. Abstract

This article aimed to measure the satisfaction of Madrasah Ibtidaiyah toward the performance of their supervisors in Kebumen Regency, IndonesiaThis research is important because the performance of madrasa supervisors is thought to affect the quality of education in Madrasas, both managerial and academic. The object of the research was conducted at the madrasah ibtidaiyah education unit with a locus in Kebumen Regency, Central Java. The Madrasah ibtidaiyah satisfaction toward the performance of supervisors was measured based on the expectations and reality of responsiveness, reliability, empathy, assurance, and tangibles of supervisors to madrasah ibtidaiyah. Through the analysis of the Customer Satisfaction Index (CSI), this study found out two conclusions. First, there was an unbalanced ratio of the number of supervisors to the number of Madrasah Ibtidaiyah. Second, although the unbalanced ratio number of supervisors and Madrasah Ibtidaiyah, Madrasah Ibtidaiyah were satisfied toward the supervisory performed by their supervisors, both managerial and academic.

Abstract

The inclusive education integrated paradigm in Islamic boarding schools is a recently developed movement in Indonesia. This concept encourages all santris (students) to actively take part in all areas of learning associated with formal schooling within the pesantren. The purpose of this qualitative research is to explain and evaluate the inclusive education integrated model used by the inclusive Islamic boarding school in Keji Village, which combines Islamic boarding school education with formal education, as well as its obstacles and opportunities. To collect data, in-depth interviews, observation, and structured documentation methods were used. This study discovered four findings; (1) The Keji inclusion Islamic boarding school in Keji village was successful in integrating the model of pesantren education with formal education in the form of madrasah ibtidaiyah; (2) the model of inclusive Islamic boarding school education in Keji Village is carried out by employing the "pull-out" and "push-in" educational models in educational implementation; (3) the obstacles experienced in implementing the integration inclusive Islamic boarding school education model include internal obstacles in the form of parenting competencies and teachers who do not have an inclusive educational background and external obstacles related to the operationalization of Islamic boarding schools which so far have relied on pesantren funding through donors; (4) the integration inclusive Islamic boarding school education model in the Keji village has the opportunity to foster trust and social awareness about equality between humans.

Abstract

This study aims to explore the internalization of character education and moral values through the implementation of the 3S habituation program (Smile, Greeting, and Salutation) in early childhood education. The problem addressed in this study concerns the need for effective habituation-based strategies to develop politeness, empathy, respect, and courteous communication among early childhood learners. The research employed a descriptive qualitative approach. The researcher served as the primary instrument in collecting and interpreting data. The study was conducted at KB–TK Al Azhar 29, Semarang. Data sources consisted of teachers, school administrators, children, and supporting documents. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation. The findings reveal that the 3S habituation program has been integrated into all daily activities, including morning greetings, learning processes, transition activities, and dismissal time. Teachers play a pivotal role as role models by consistently demonstrating positive behavior and providing positive reinforcement. As a result, children showed improvements in polite verbal interactions, basic conflict resolution skills, and social sensitivity. These findings indicate that consistent 3S habituation serves as an effective strategy for internalizing character education and moral values in early childhood education settings.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the use of the Spin Tamadun game in improving early childhood communication skills through Islamic history learning at KB/TK Islam Miftahul Jannah Semarang. The problem addressed is the low ability of children to express opinions, respond to questions, and use new vocabulary actively in learning activities. This research employed a descriptive qualitative approach using observation, interviews, and documentation techniques involving 15 children aged 5–6 years over four meetings. The results show an improvement in children’s communication abilities, indicated by an increased vocabulary range, greater confidence in speaking, and more active participation in class discussions and question–answer sessions. Spin Tamadun successfully created an enjoyable, interactive, and contextual learning atmosphere that encouraged children to express ideas both verbally and nonverbally with higher confidence. Therefore, Spin Tamadun serves as a simple yet effective educational medium to stimulate language development, speaking confidence, and communication skills in early childhood through meaningful and enjoyable learning experiences.Keywords: Spin Tamadun, children's communication, Islamic history learning. ABSTRAK. Penelitian ini bertujuan mendeskripsikan penggunaan permainan Spin Tamadun dalam meningkatkan kemampuan komunikasi anak usia dini melalui pembelajaran Sejarah Islam di KB/TK Islam Miftahul Jannah Bringin Kota Semarang. Permasalahan yang diangkat ialah rendahnya kemampuan anak dalam hal komunikasi, menyampaikan pendapat, merespon pertanyaan, serta menggunakan kosakata baru secara aktif dalam kegiatan belajar. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan deskriptif kualitatif dengan teknik observasi, wawancara, dan dokumentasi terhadap 15 anak berusia 5-6 tahun selama empat kali pertemuan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan adanya peningkatan kemampuan komunikasi anak yang ditandai dengan bertambahnya kosakata, meningkatnya keberanian berbicara, serta partisipasi aktif dalam kegiatan diskusi dan tanya di kelas. Spin Tamadun terbukti mampu menicptakan suasana belajar yang menyenangkan, interaktif, dan kontekstual, sehingga mendorong anak untuk berani mengemukakan ide secara lisan maupun nonverbal dengan lebih percaya diri. Dengan demikian, Spin Tamadun berperan sebagai media edukatif yang sederhana namun efektif untuk menstimulasi perkembangan bahasa, keberanian berbicara, dan kemampuan komunikasi anak usia dini dalam konteks pembelajaran yang bermakna dan menyenangkan.Kata Kunci:  Spin Tamadun, Komunikasi anak, Pembelajaran Sejarah Islam.
