This study aims to analyze the development of a future-oriented Islamic Education curriculum in the context of 21st-century learning. The research employed a Systematic Literature Review (SLR) method by examining scientific articles published between 2020–2025 from Google Scholar, ERIC, Scopus, Garuda, and SINTA-indexed journals. The article selection process was conducted systematically using inclusion and exclusion criteria related to Islamic Education curriculum development, digital literacy, character education, and 21st-century competencies. A total of 10 relevant articles were analyzed descriptively and qualitatively. The findings indicate that the 21st-century Islamic Education curriculum has shifted from conventional content-oriented learning toward competency-based and student-centered approaches. The curriculum integrates critical thinking, creativity, collaboration, communication, digital literacy, character education, and religious moderation into Islamic learning processes. Technology integration through digital media and online learning platforms enhances student engagement and learning effectiveness. However, several challenges remain, including limited teacher digital competence, inadequate technological infrastructure, and the persistence of conventional teaching practices. The study concludes that future-oriented Islamic Education curriculum development requires innovation, technological adaptation, and contextual learning strategies to prepare globally competitive yet religiously grounded Muslim students. Abstrak Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis pengembangan kurikulum Pendidikan Agama Islam yang berorientasi masa depan dalam konteks pembelajaran abad ke-21. Penelitian menggunakan metode Systematic Literature Review (SLR) dengan mengkaji artikel ilmiah yang dipublikasikan pada tahun 2020–2025 dari Google Scholar, ERIC, Scopus, Garuda, dan jurnal terindeks SINTA. Proses seleksi artikel dilakukan secara sistematis menggunakan kriteria inklusi dan eksklusi yang berkaitan dengan pengembangan kurikulum PAI, literasi digital, pendidikan karakter, dan kompetensi abad 21. Sebanyak 10 artikel relevan dianalisis secara deskriptif-kualitatif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa kurikulum PAI abad 21 mengalami transformasi dari pembelajaran konvensional menuju pendekatan berbasis kompetensi dan berpusat pada peserta didik. Kurikulum mengintegrasikan kemampuan berpikir kritis, kreativitas, kolaborasi, komunikasi, literasi digital, pendidikan karakter, dan moderasi beragama dalam proses pembelajaran Islam. Integrasi teknologi melalui media digital dan platform pembelajaran daring meningkatkan partisipasi dan efektivitas pembelajaran siswa. Namun, pengembangan kurikulum masih menghadapi tantangan berupa rendahnya kompetensi digital guru, keterbatasan infrastruktur teknologi, dan dominannya pembelajaran konvensional. Penelitian menyimpulkan bahwa pengembangan kurikulum PAI masa depan memerlukan inovasi, adaptasi teknologi, dan strategi pembelajaran kontekstual untuk menghasilkan generasi muslim yang religius dan kompetitif secara global.
