Abstract

This research aimed to analyze the function and content of community limerick in Desa Kopong, Kecamatan Kewapante, Kabupaten Sikka. Spoken literature works are largely practiced in this community to transfer messages among people. This research employed a qualitative approach with a descriptive method. The obtained data were in the form of rhymes and verses obtained from engagement techniques and participant observation. The obtained data were analyzed through content analysis techniques and data validation with triangulation methods. Results showed that the community limerick in Desa Kopong functions as a means of recreation, aesthetics, didactic, morality, and religion. The content of the limericks includes reinforcement of the values ​​of grit, resilience, politeness, volunteerism, and religion. Finding from this research is significant for Bahasa Indonesia (BI) lesson in junior high schools (SMP), especially related to students’ competency in analyzing the forms and contents of community limerick.

Abstract

Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mengetahui bagaimana pemberdayaan hasil hutan dalam pembangunan pondok baca untuk meningkatkan minat baca anak-anak di Wairterang, NTT. Metode penelitian yang digunakan yaitu kualitatif deskriptif. Sumber data menggunakan data primer (wawancara, observasi) dan sekunder (dokumen, buku). Teknik analisis dilakukan dengan tahapan data dikumpulkan, dikelompokkan, disajikan, dan diambil kesimpulan. Faktor penyebab minat baca anak-anak yang rendah adalah kemalasan, bimbingan yang kurang, fasilitas yang terbatas, kesadaran masyarakat untuk memanfaatkan lingkungan yang rendah. Upaya meningkatkan minat baca anak-anak adalah dengan memberikan pelatihan pengelolaan rumah baca yang memanfaatkan hasil hutan dan sosialisasi pada masyarakat setempat.

Abstract

Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mengetahui minat baca dari peserta didik kelas VIII SMP Negeri Satap Oehoma, Nusa Tenggar Timur ketika menggunakan metode PAIKEM dalam pembelajaran Bahasa Indonesia. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif deskriptif karena dapat menggambarkan dan atau mendeskripsikan karakteristik dari fenomena. Metode PAIKEM dipilih untuk mengetahui minat baca karena metode ini menjadikan peserta didik aktif bertanya, mempertanyakan, dan mengemukakan gagasan. Kegiatan yang dilakukan adalah dengan materi pembuatan dan mewarnai slogan, membuat piramida cerita, membaca fabel, dan permainan menemukan istilah. Pelaksanaan metode ini ternyata membuat minat membaca peserta didik menjadi lebih baik sepuluh peserta bisa membaca, enam dari lima belas peserta didik belum lancar membaca dua puluh peserta didik memiliki kemauan untuk membaca dan belajar membaca, lima peserta didik  butuh motivasi lebih.

Abstract

The structured writing assignment as a learning method in English learning process applied by teacher in the classroom. The research was conducted to know what the teacher’s strategies and the students’ Perception of the Structured Writing Assignment. this research, the researcher used qualitative research, the researcher used observation and interview in collecting data and the thematic analysis in analyzing the data. The respondents in this research were the students of grade ten of A and B and an English teacher. The results of data collection and the data analysis, it showned that the teacher has applied his own design in implementing the Structured Writing Assignment. Those general steps are: (1) Explained the procedure text in details (2) Giving the themes (3) Giving the time limit (4) Evaluating. The students’ perception toward the Structured Writing Assignment were : (1) Assignment which demand the students’ autonomy (2) The presence of the Structured Writing Assignment has made the students interested and felt it is like challenging assignment (3) The Structured Writing Assignment as assignment’s that can improve the students’ vocabularies and grammar capability (4) It can also motivate the students to learn more at home optimally. The students’ problems/difficulties in the structured Writing Assignment are: (1) They lack vocabulary (2) The students have less sources to support their assignment (3) The students claimed that the time limit given by the teacher is not enough. The English teacher was expected to developed creativity and created pleasant condition in teaching/learning process. Then, they were also expected to develop the teaching strategy appropriately for students and design it in implementation the Structured Writing Assignment to be more interesting than before.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis gaya bahasa yang digunakan dalam novel "Koala Kumal" karya Raditya Dika. Sumber data yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah novel tersebut, yang diterbitkan oleh penerbit Gagas Media pada tahun 2005. Teknik pengumpulan data yang digunakan adalah teknik dokumentasi, sedangkan teknik analisis data yang diterapkan adalah teknik analisis karya fiksi. Proses analisis melibatkan identifikasi data, klasifikasi, interpretasi, dan penarikan kesimpulan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa novel "Koala Kumal" mengandung beberapa gaya bahasa, antara lain: gaya bahasa perbandingan (seperti perumpamaan, personifikasi, simbolik, dan depersonifikasi), gaya bahasa pertentangan (seperti sarkasme dan sinisme), gaya bahasa perulangan (seperti epanalepsis dan epistrofe), serta gaya bahasa yang menggunakan pertautan dengan eponim. Dalam penelitian ini, penulis menganalisis berbagai aspek gaya bahasa yang digunakan dalam novel "Koala Kumal", sehingga memberikan pemahaman yang lebih mendalam tentang penggunaan bahasa dan gaya penulisan dalam karya tersebut.

Abstract

The Sikka dialect of Krowe is one of the six languages in Sikka Regency that is unique. The uniqueness of the Krowe dialect is that verbs can reflect. Issues discussed are the change in verbs in the Sikka dialect of Krowe in the use of a single pronoun, the change in verbs in Sikka in the Krowe dialect in the use of plural pronouns and the meaning that arises from these changes. This study aims to determine changes in verbs in the Sikka dialect of Krowe in the use of singular and plural pronouns and changes in meaning as a result of these changes. The approach used is a qualitative approach with descriptive methods. Based on the results of data analysis in the form of words spoken or written by informants, it was found that there was a change in verb when used by a single person pronoun when used a plural persona pronoun, the change was incomplete, it was also found that there was a change in meaning as a result of the change
