Abstract

Implementing appropriate strategies in learning so that students acquire 21st century skills is an important thing for teachers to do. These skills will equip students to adapt to the needs of their era. One of the skills is critical thinking. However, during the Covid-19 pandemic, all educational institutions were encouraged to carry out online learning to prevent massive transmission of the corona virus. In science learning, it emphasizes students to learn independently by providing clear instructions from the teachers to practice critical thinking. One of the media that can bridge the needs of students to learn independently in practicing critical thinking is Schoology. The purpose of this research was to find out the influence of schoology virtual science-based learning in improving critical thinking of students. The study was a quasi-experimental design. The sample of this research were 64 students taken through purposive sampling. The improvement of students' critical thinking skills was identified from the essay test given. The results showed that the size impact (d) reached high category (1.85). It means that the schoology virtual science-based learning have a high influence in improving students' critical thinking skill. Furthermore, the t-test showed a sig value. 0.000 and N-Gain in the experimental class reached 0.50 while the control class reached 0.27. It indicates that the implementation of schoology virtual science-based learning can improve students' critical thinking skill.

Abstract

Media is one thing which support learning proccess. This study aims to apply learning media based Adobe Flash CS6 to improve students’ metacognition ability. The research examined the implementation of learning media IPA based Adobe Flash CS6 in improving junior high schhool students’ metacognition ability. The method used was an experiment, with Quasi-Experimental Design using pretest and postest one grup design technique. The sampling used was purposive sampling. The result showed that the average score of pretest was (42.03) and the average score of postest was (72.03). Improved metacognition ability was shown by the N-gain test (0.52) with ‘medium criterion’. Students’ response test after learning media IPA based Adobe Flash CS6 to improve students’ metacognition ability obtained a percentage of (82,87) with ‘high criterion’. In conclution, learning media IPA based Adobe Flash CS6 can used to improve students’ metacognition ability.

Abstract

This study aimed to develop an android-based My Science App learning media with the Science, Environment, Technology, and Society (SETS) approach for elementary school students on the solar system. The subject in this study were 23 sixth-grade students of SD Negeri Salebu 03 Majenang. This type of research is Research and Development. The initial stage of the study was observing the learning media used in learning, then developing the design and producing the android-based My Science App learning media with the SETS approach. The resulting learning media can help students understand learning material. The results of the feasibility assessment of learning media by media experts obtained 93.75% with very feasible criteria, and the evaluation by content experts got 96.25% with very feasible criteria. This research produces appropriate learning media for solar system topics.

Abstract

Elementary school students' problem-solving abilities must be developed so that they are accustomed to formulating solutions. This study aims to determine the effect of problem-based learning on students' interest in science at SD Muhammadiyah Majenang. The nonequivalent control group design was used in this quasi-experimental study. The participants in this study were fourth-grade students from SD Muhammadiyah Pahonjean and SD Muhammadiyah Cilopadang. Student questionnaires and documentation were used to collect data. The data analysis technique used a normality test, homogeneity test, and t-test. The Mann-Whitney test results show that the Asymp Sig. 0.000. This results that the problem-based learning model having an impact on SD Muhammadiyah Majenang students' interest in science. Teachers need to implement science learning using a problem-based learning model.

Abstract

Technological progress is something that has a significant aspect of human life, one example is social media. Companies use these media to share messages with audiences. Every advertisement has a message meaning, either implicit or explicit, that it wants to convey to the audience and each audience has a different view in understanding the meaning contained in the advertisement. To find out the implied meaning in a message, help from semiotics is needed. One company that conveys interesting implied messages in advertising is Apple, which conveys the theme of change. Researchers want to examine further the meaning of the implied messages in the elements contained in the iPad Pro advertisement by carrying out semiotic analysis according to Roland Barthes through the meaning of connotation and meaning of denotation, disruption theory which discusses how change changes the order of human life, as well as assistance from the internet to strengthen the data needed to support the results of this research. Through the method used in this research, there are forms of digital representation in the Apple iPad Pro advertisement with the title "crush" which can be mentioned in three points, namely simple, addition, and revolution. Kemajuan teknologi merupakan hal yang memilki aspek signifikan terhadap kehidupan manusia, salah satu contohnya media sosial. Perusahaan menggunakan media tersebut untuk berbagi pesan kepada audiens. Setiap iklan memiliki makna pesan baik secara tersirat atau tersurat yang ingin disampaikan kepada audiens dan setiap audiens memiliki pandangan yang berbeda dalam memahamai makna yang terkandung dalam iklan, untuk mengetahui makna tersirat dalam suatu pesan diperlukannya bantuan dari semiotika. Salah satu perusahaan yang membawakan makna pesan tersirat yang menarik pada iklan adalah Apple, yang membawakan tema perubahan. Peneliti ingin menelaah lebih lanjut mengenai makna pesan tersirat pada elemen-elemen yang terkandung di dalam iklan iPad Pro dengan melakukan analisis semiotik menurut Roland Barthes melalui makna konotasi dan makna denotasi, teori disrupsi yang membahas bagaimana perubahan mengubah tatanan hidup manusia, serta bantuan dari internet untuk memperkuat data yang diperlukan agar mendukung hasil dari penelitian ini. Melalui metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini terdapat bentuk-bentuk representasi digital pada iklan Apple iPad Pro dengan judul “crush” yang dapat disebutkan dengan tiga poin, yaitu simpel, penambahan, serta revolusi.

Abstract

The low ability of elementary school students to understand fractions is one of the causes of poor overall mathematics achievement in Indonesia. This study aims to identify the types of difficulties, contributing factors, and learning approaches used to overcome difficulties in learning fractions through a systematic literature review. A review of 15 scientific articles published between 2020 and 2025 revealed that students struggle to visualize fractions as parts of a whole, compare fractions, and understand the relationship between numerators and denominators. The most dominant contributing factors include weak foundational numeracy skills, low motivation to learn, and the use of procedural teaching methods that lack contextual relevance. Meanwhile, approaches such as educational games, visual representations, interactive digital media, and realistic learning have proven effective in significantly improving understanding of fraction concepts. From these results, it can be concluded that efforts to improve fraction understanding should focus on conceptual and contextual learning supported by interactive media relevant to the characteristics of elementary school students.Rendahnya kemampuan siswa Sekolah Dasar dalam memahami konsep pecahan menjadi salah satu penyebab lemahnya pencapaian matematika secara keseluruhan di Indonesia. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengidentifikasi bentuk kesulitan, faktor penyebab, serta pendekatan pembelajaran yang digunakan dalam mengatasi kesulitan belajar pecahan melalui metode Systematic Literature Review (SLR). Hasil kajian terhadap 15 artikel ilmiah terbitan tahun 2020–2025 yang dianalisis menggunakan prosedur PRISMA menunjukkan bahwa siswa mengalami kesulitan dalam memvisualisasikan pecahan sebagai bagian dari keseluruhan, membandingkan pecahan, dan memahami hubungan antara pembilang dan penyebut. Faktor penyebab yang paling dominan meliputi lemahnya pemahaman numerasi dasar, minimnya motivasi belajar, dan penggunaan metode pembelajaran prosedural yang tidak kontekstual. Kajian juga menemukan bahwa pendekatan berbasis visual, digital, permainan edukatif, dan Realistic Mathematics Education (RME) secara konsisten efektif meningkatkan pemahaman siswa. Dari hasil tersebut dapat disimpulkan bahwa upaya peningkatan pemahaman pecahan perlu difokuskan pada pembelajaran yang bersifat konseptual, kontekstual, dan didukung oleh media interaktif yang relevan dengan karakteristik siswa Sekolah Dasar.

Abstract

The material about the solar system contains abstract ideas and cannot be witnessed directly; therefore, observation is needed to understand the processes that occur in the cosmos. The purpose of this study was to determine the feasibility and process of creating POBISISTAR (Solar System Pop-Up Science Book) teaching materials for sixth-grade elementary school students. The R&D approach created by Brog and Gall, which consists of the following stages: introduction, product design, product validation, and product trial, was used in this work. Data collection methods included student response questionnaires and questionnaire validation from media experts and material experts. The research findings showed that, according to validation from media experts and material experts, the POBISISTAR (Solar System Pop-Up Science Book) teaching materials for sixth-grade elementary school students were 80% and 78.67%, respectively. Ninety-five percent of students answered the questionnaire. According to the research findings, sixth-grade elementary school students can use POBISISTAR (Solar System Pop-Up Science Book) teaching resources. Materi tentang tata surya mengandung gagasan yang abstrak dan tidak dapat disaksikan secara langsung; oleh karena itu, pengamatan diperlukan untuk memahami proses yang terjadi di kosmos. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk memastikan kelayakan dan proses pembuatan bahan ajar POBISISTAR (Pop Up Book IPA SistemTata Surya) untuk siswa kelas enam sekolah dasar. Pendekatan R&D yang dibuat oleh Brog dan Gall, yang terdiri dari tahapan-tahapan berikut: pendahuluan, desain produk, validasi produk, dan uji coba produk, digunakan dalam karya ini. Metode pengumpulan data meliputi angket respons siswa dan validasi angket dari ahli media dan ahli materi. Temuan penelitian menunjukkan bahwa, menurut validasi dari ahli media dan ahli materi, bahan ajar POBISISTAR (Pop Up Book IPA SistemTata Surya) untuk siswa kelas enam sekolah dasar masing-masing adalah 80% dan 78,67%. Sembilan puluh lima persen siswa menjawab angket. Menurut temuan penelitian, siswa kelas VI sekolah dasar dapat menggunakan sumber ajar POBISISTAR (Pop Up Book IPA SistemTata Surya).

Abstract

The use of media in learning mathematics multiplication material is an effort that can be done to improve numeracy skills and improve the quality of learning outcomes. This study aims to develop learning media in the form of a smart multiplication finger board that has been adjusted to the needs and characteristics of students. The method used is the R&D (Research and Development) method using the ADDIE model (Analyze, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation). The results of the media development are smart multiplication board media that are developed into smart multiplication finger board media made using a strong base board, using 2 pairs of finger shapes and applied using the jarimatika formula so that 10 fingers can be used to calculate multiplication from 1 to 10. The assessment of media development has met the trial criteria of several experts. The results of the trial by material experts showed a validity level of 91%, media experts showed a validity level of 89%. This study can be concluded that the smart multiplication finger board media is very suitable for use in learning mathematics multiplication material.Penggunaan media dalam pembelajaran matematika materi perkalian merupakan upaya yang dapat dilakukan untuk meningkatkan kemampuan berhitung dan meningkatkan kualitas hasil pembelajaran. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengembangkan media pembelajaran berupa  papan jari pintar perkalian yang telah disesuaikan dengan kebutuhan dan karakteristik peserta didik. Metode yang digunakan adalah metode R&D (Research and Development) dengan menggunakan model ADDIE (Analyze, Design, Development, Implementation, dan Evaluation). Hasil dari pengembangan media adalah media papan pintar perkalian yang di kembangkan menjadi media papan jari pintar perkalian  dibuat menggunakan papan dasar yang kuat, menggunakan 2 pasang bentuk jari tangan dan diaplikasikan menggunakan rumus jarimatika agar 10 jari bisa digunakan untuk menghitung perkalian 1 sampai 10. Penilaian pengembangan media telah memenuhi kriteria  uji coba beberapa ahli. Hasil uji coba ahli materi menujukan tingkat kevalidan  91%, ahli media menunjukkan tingkat kevalidan 89%. Penelitian ini dapat disimpulkan bahwa media papan jari pintar perkalian sangat layak digunakan dalam pembelajaran matematika materi perkalian.
