Abstract

Engine scanner unit is a tool used by mechanical power to know the condition of car engine combustion at the time of tune up process done. The level of elements and compounds that dominant in determining categories of combustion of gasoline fuel car engines through the levels of elements and compounds contained in exhaust emissions are Hydrocarbons (HC), Carbon Monoxide (CO), Carbon Dioxide (CO2) and Oxygen (O2). Complete combustion category produces maximum power, fuel efficiency and emission levels according to the threshold. This occurs when there is a balance of the amount of fuel, airflow and ignition in the engine combustion chamber. Elements and compounds contained in car exhaust emissions can be detected with sensors that are sensitive to elemental levels and these compounds are HC, CO, CO2, and O2 sensors. This study aims to display the data pattern category of combustion engine through exhaust emissions based on multi sensor detection processed with signal processing system in the form of Fast Fourier Transform (FFT) process. Furthermore, data pattern is performed in accordance with the category of combustion engine detected. The system is designed with embedded system using Field Programable Gate Array (FPGA) myRIO and LabVIEW programming. The results in the test displays the data pattern and the comparison test of the reference data pattern with the data pattern of the detection result. The comparison test result of data pattern similar to 87% complete engine combustion category and similar to incomplete combustion category 90%.

Abstract

A multisensory gas device integrated with myRIO module to measure air pollution has been established. This device is programmed using the LabVIEW programming language and can measure CO2, CO, NOX, and HC pollution on roads due to motor vehicle exhaust emissions. The device and the display system are made separately using wireless network communication to make this tool portable. Exhaust Gas Analyzer (EGA) was chosen for device calibration, obtaining 3.62% on the average error after performing 30 tests. The tests for measuring CO, CO2, NOX, and HC gas levels were conducted in several locations in Padang City and performed in the morning, afternoon, and evening. The result showed that the system properly measured CO2, CO, NOX and HC pollution in parks and highways in real-time in parts per million (ppm). It also displayed varied gas measurement results in terms of time and test location with a range of CO gas values at 0.034 – 0.15 ppm, CO2 151.3 – 815.2 ppm, NOX 0.0001 – 0.004 ppm, and HC 0.04 – 0.65 ppm. In addition, the system could perform well in providing warnings by automatically activating the air indicator alert at several measurement places when the gas content on one of the gas elements and compounds at a particular location has exceeded the threshold for the clean air category. Thus, this device can be used as initial research to build a real-time air pollution measurement system using the Internet of Things (IoT).

Abstract

An analysis has been carried out to treat the meat grinder machine. The care of the meat grinder machine is important to help the production process of rendang suir craftsmen. Meat grinder machine consists of several components, namely the engine, electric motor, pulleys, V-belts, reservoirs, and spindle shaft. With the components above, this meat grinder machine is expected to work optimally with satisfactory results. The meat grinder machine treatment consists of repairing, repairing, total care. Canceled maintenance consists of recovery, lubrication, and periodic checks. Repair treatments include maintenance of the blade, bearing care, pulley care and belt. While total maintenance is carried out after the engine has been running long enough. The result of the treatment that has been done is a machine that can be run properly which can produce a maximum of 30 kg / hour

Abstract

The main goal to be achieved is to be able to make an onion slicing machine so that it can answer the problem if the onion slicing is carried out in a larger capacity. The onion slicing machine is made to support the increase in the production of shallot slices, which are ready to be fried for the production of scallion onions in household industries. In a small scale, the work can be done manually with a knife or other simple cutting tool. Problems will arise if large quantities of sliced or cut production are available. In order to facilitate the community in processing shallots and learn about the problems, namely how to produce a shallot slicing machine with uniform slices results using different slope angles on the knife. the working principle of this machine is the Onion which has been peeled dry skin inserted into the funnel then the plate on the back of which has a knife, will rotate because it is driven by an electric motor. As a result of the rotation the onion will be sliced and the slice will fall down, and below it a container will be used as a cross section of the onion which has been finished sliced as a result

Abstract

This paper discusses the granulator machine testing process. This test aims to determine the process of occurrence of granular. Granular pellets are one form of feed pellets, granular (rounded) and light in weight. Granular pellets are not easy to sink but are easily broken down in water. This type of pellet is made without going through the process of pressing, so that it can produce feed grains that are light weighted, not easily submerged but easily decomposed in water. The goal is to determine the optimal state of the granulator machine with three angular tilt positions, it can perform maintenance on the granulator machine. The granulator machine testing process is carried out by means of the plate angle measurement process, the water mixture measurement process, the plate speed measurement process. Material used for the testing process uses flour and water. While the tools used in the granulator machine testing process are spray, 14 key, sieve, and container. After testing at 3 angles at an angle of 25o, angle of 30o and angle of 35o the authors conclude that this machine can produce small granules at a slope of 250 with an engine speed of 17 rpm and average weight of granular which is produced 236 grams. While the results of hourly 3 kg / hour.

Abstract

Motorcycles with injection system uses engine scanner tool as a reference for a mechanic when performing a tune-up to find out and get the engine firing conditions were perfect. Unlike the motorcycle carburetor system, relying only on the experience of a mechanic. If using tools, usually using exhaust emission analyzer which only serves to measure the levels of elements and compounds and exhaust emissions and it can not be used to identify the condition of the combustion engine. Besides, not all the workshops have it, just a certain manufacturer authorized workshops, garages and a large scale or related government agencies that have it. There are two categories of combustion engine, the first engine combustion conditions are not perfect and complete combustion conditions. Perfect engine combustion conditions is needed so that maximum engine performance with an efficient use of fuel. This study aims to make a device that is capable of detecting the condition of combustion 4-stroke motorcycle carburetor system using the method of sum square error (SSE) through the value of the data patterns of exhaust emissions based gas sensors. The study, of the five categories of motorcycles with the manufacturer, type and year of manufacture of different shows that, the system made capable of identifying categories of combustion engine based on the SSE on the identification and reference set. The success rate of identification detection system performs the complete combustion of 89.33% and 97.99% of incomplete combustion.

Abstract

Visual inspection becomes an important role when determining the quality of the conditions of production. Manual visual inspection carried out by relying on human senses, especially the eyes, the weakness is perspective and human's perspective may be different from each other, the quality result can be different. Utilization of the camera as a sensor and computer system as a major component of decision-making is the latest technology that is used as an automatic visual inspection replace human tasks. This research aims to make a visual inspection system that utilizes a web camera and mini PC (personal mini computare) Raspberry PI to identify disability packaging beverage cans. The system that is made has been tested to identify defects tin side of the inner surface of the cover packaging of canned drinks without color or silver color. The result is, the system is able to distinguish defective cans and the cans that are not defective with an accuracy of 66, 67%. We hope this research can be developed at a later stage so that automatic a visual inspection can be realized.

Abstract

The method for observing urine color to diagnose a disease of patient has done so far. The visual observation with human eyes has done to study and analyze human urine color and detect the connected disease. Human vision lately can be replaced with computer visual system or other sensor or camera to detect that color. The color of object is composed by two color components, they are frequency and spatial domain. Therefore, each color has wavelength and form in number of frequency. Color censor TCS 3200 produces output signals with different frequency based on scanned color through photodiode of the censor. Recognizing of the object in the form of shape, color and other variables of the object. Feature extraction is obtain from the data pattern as well as histogram. This research aims generate histogram and urine color pattern according to patient situation indication. The use of color reference is main color urinalysis, the result of method at Cleveland in Ohio in 2013. Based on the research, the pattern and color histogram were obtained in different style found in detected different urine color. This research would contribute to help identification process of diseases based on urine color thorough online.

Abstract

Indonesia is an agricultural country with vast agricultural land and abundant natural resources. Thus, it is not surprising that the Indonesian agricultural sector has a very important role in economic growth, because this sector has great potential in absorbing a large number of workers as well as supporting food needs. West Sumatra is one of the corn-producing provinces in Indonesia with corn production in West Sumatra Province in 2020 of 935,716 tons or 59,465 tons less than the production target of 995,201 tons. Availability of corn supplies will greatly affect the livestock industry in general. If the supply of corn raw materials experiences scarcity, it will result in stagnation in the availability of animal feed. On the contrary, with the adequacy of corn raw materials, it will encourage the smooth supply of animal feed. This means that corn is very influential on the performance of livestock development and the provision of animal protein which is much needed in improving the quality of human resources. The purpose of this research is to be able to design and manufacture a corn sheller machine. The working principle of this machine is to rotate the shaft which aims to make the corn revolution motion towards the shaft and is held by the retaining wall at the bottom which will separate the corn kernels and the cobs. The research method used is applied research method. This research started from the design of the corn sheller machine until the tool was formed, so that the following specifications were obtained: using a gasoline-fueled motor with a power of 6.5 HP, having a funnel above the side of the sheller tube, using a frame with angle iron, the sheller shaft consists of shaft with a length of 870 mm and a diameter of 25.4 mm and there are 13 threshing chains on the side of the shaft with a width of 20 mm and each chain has a length of 180 mm, has a corn screen that functions as a retaining wall and a corn separator filter with cobs, There are 2 pieces pulley, namely the pulley on the motor and sheller shaft, and uses a belt with size A-44.

Abstract

Small-scale broiler farming in Indonesia often suffers losses due to high production costs. In addition to rising feed prices, these losses are frequently caused by chickens that are ready for harvest being unsold in the market due to a decline in purchasing power. One solution that farmers can implement is to slaughter the chickens at the appropriate harvest time and store the carcasses in cooling rooms to sell them when market prices increase. This study aims to design and specify cooling storage equipment to store broiler carcasses using a combination of commercial and solar energy sources. The research begins by determining the cooling load of the system, specifying refrigeration components, evaluating solar energy potential at the location, and designing the required electrical system. Solar energy potential was calculated based on meteorological data obtained from an online database and processed using the PvSyst 7.2 application. Based on the analysis, the cooling storage requires 4.69 kW of power to reach optimal temperature within 6 hours, with a COPR value of 2.2. Meanwhile, the solar energy potential at the installation site is 4.44 kWh/m²/day, enabling the solar power system (PLTS) to generate an estimated annual energy output of 1802 kWh with a Performance Ratio (PR) of 65.07% and a Solar Fraction (SF) of 91.85%.
