Abstract

The purpose of this study is to determine the PID controller constant using the Ziegler-Nichols type 1 method. This method applies the tangent-line position to the plant response curve to obtain the PID time constant which then obtains the PID controller constants. To get tangents line, a simulation of plant output responses in the matlab program is performed, from the output response curves plotted coordinate points ranging from 10% to 90% steady-state conditions in order to obtain the time and amplitude pair [x; y]. The coordinate pairs taken were 40% -60%, 30-70%, 20% -80% and 10% -90% steady-state conditions with the coordinat pair passing 50% coordinates of steady-state conditions.PID controller output response results to the constant excitation DC motor plant and AVR plant has a stable output response, control of the rise-time constant excitation DC motor and settling-time decreases so as to accelerate the plant to steady-state conditions, control of the AVR accelerates the plant reaches steady-state and decreases the amplitude of the overshoot and then oscillation period, and the best tangent-line coordinates for the PID controller output response are 20% -80%.

Abstract

Abstract

This study intends to look at the characteristics of current drawn by the dc motor when supplied by a single- phase diode rectifier. Characteristics of this current will depend on the output of a single-phase sinusoidal rectifier and electrical characteristics of dc motors. Assessments carried out by modeling a single-phase diode rectifier in order to obtain output voltage equation. Next modeled as a series dc motor electric ekiuvalen thus obtained mathematical model. By using Kirchoff Voltage Law is obtained first order differential equation is not homogeneous due to the excitation voltage ac source. This equation contains the parameters of the current as a function of time. Electric current equation is then simulated to obtain the dc motor input current curve as a function of time or current dc motor moment. The result is a instantanous current characteristic curve dc motor function of time, steady-state current at t = 0, and the average current which is a dc currents.

Abstract

This research utilizes the features of the simulink-matlab program to analyze the characteristics of a single-phase uncontrolled half-wave rectifier. The rectifier circuit is built using the existing facilities in the simulink in the matlab program, then performs the simulation process by running the simulink program so as to produce the input and output voltage and current curves of the rectifier. The curve is displayed by the socpe window which can also display the values of these quantities. The waveforms and current values of the simulation results will be compared with the results of theoretical calculations, so that the compatibility of the simulation and theoretical values can be known. These values are the output voltage and current of the rectifier, namely the average voltage (DC) and the effective voltage (rms). The simulation results of the simulink-matlab program can display the rectifier output waveform, namely the output voltage and the output current as well as the rectifier input voltage and current ( and ), and can also display the parameters of the rectifier output waveform, namely the maximum and minimum peak values, both values the peak value can be calculated the average voltage (DC) and effective voltage (rms) as the supply voltage to the load and can display the rectifier output current characteristic curve based on the current equation. From the results of the discussion there is a difference between the results of theoretical calculations and the results of calculations using the simulation results parameters in the simulink-matlab program, this is due to the presence of diode parameters that are also included in the simulation process. By using the matlab-simulink feature, the diode characteristics can be adjusted according to the specifications, as well as the rectifier characteristics with freewheeling diodes.

Abstract
