Abstract

This study aims at generating possible thematic Subject Specific Pedagogy (SSP) based on local wisdom and examining the results teachers and students perception on the pedagogical approach developed in the preliminary field testing. Drawing upon the notion of research and development by Borg & Gall, this research was conducted through different stages involving information gathering, planning, developing preliminary product, preliminary field testing, and revising. The subjects were a small group of second grade students of SD Muhammadiyah Bodon and SD Muhammadiyah Sidoarum Yogyakarta. Each consists of 10 students. The data gathering instrument consists of product validation, character observation sheets, and teacher assessment sheets. The data gathering instrument consists of product validation tool, character observation sheets, and teachers’ assessment sheets. The SSP product generated in this study consists of lesson plans, teaching materials, worksheets, and expert perception. According to the experts of media, materials, and evaluation, the SSP product is in good categories. First grade teachers result a good score to the syllabus and lesson plans, while the worksheets and evaluation are in very good category. The results from the students responses to the textbooks is 78, which is in very good category, while the students worksheets score 71 which includes in excellent category. Therefore, the developed thematic SSP based on local wisdom can be declared appropriate for use in learning.

Abstract

This study aims to develop pictorial children's storybooks based on caring values and specifically aims to know, (1) steps for developing child-based pictorial children's storybooks, (2) the feasibility of caring-based children's storybooks, and (3) participant responses students of story books developed.This type of research is development research. This study uses the Borg and Gall development model which consists of five stages, namely research and information collecting, planning, developing preliminary form a product, preliminary field testing, and main product revision. The subjects of this research were 10 second grade students of Banguntapan State Elementary School with 10 childrens. Data Collecting techniques use descriptive. The data analysis technique used is descriptive.The development of pictorial children's storybooks consists of six steps, namely determining themes, making storylines/storyboards, determining characters/figures, making illustrated images, combining storybook elements, and expert validation. The results of the study showed that illustrated children's storybooks were based on values of concern for second grade students of elementary school worthy of use. Assessment according to media experts got a score of 104 (good), material expert 101 (good), and expert learning 56 (very good). The response results of students get a score of 100 (very good). Students respond that the contents of illustrated story books are interesting, stories are easy to understand, and can be used as models in attitude.Keywords: Picture Children's Story Book, Concern Values

Abstract

Teacher teaching methods that are less varied in Indonesian language learning cause, the low value of the ability to write student description essays. The purpose of this study was to improve the ability to write a description essay using the field trip method for fourth grade students of SD Negeri Dadapsari Sleman. This research is a Classroom Action research, with 2 cycles of action. The subjects in this study were the fourth grade students of SD Negeri Dadapsari which numbered 20 students, while the objects in this study were the ability to write a description essay. Data collection techniques were in the form of observation, tests and documentation. The research instrument consisted of observation sheets and essay test sheets. The analysis technique used is descriptive and quantitative data analysis. The results showed that field trip methods can improve the ability to write description essays. This is confirmed by; 1) Field trip methods have been shown to increase student enthusiasm and student activity, with the material provided and supported by the environment making students curiosity emerge. 2) From the results of the study it can be shown that there is an increase in the ability to write description essays, namely an increase in the first cycle of the first meeting, there are 5 students with a percentage (25%), then increasing in the second meeting there are 8 students with a percentage (40%) who obtain complete grades. While the results of the ability to write an essay description in the second cycle of the first meeting there were 14 students with a percentage (70%) who got the complete score, for the second meeting there were 18 students with a percentage (90%) of students who received complete grades. The results of the percentage show that the ability to write student description essays can be increased by applying the field trip method.

Abstract

Good mastery of integrated learning model is one of important competencies for primary school education students. Without good mastery, they will find it hard to design and do instruction in primary schools that involve a number of fields of study and themes. This study aims at investigating the needs of primary school education students in the course of integrated learning in Elementary school. This is a survey research which used questionnaire to collect the data. The population of this study were 318 primary school education students who took the course. It used proportionale stratified sampling with the number of samples as many as 178 students. The results indicate that the needs of students were related to course materials, including a variety of Elementary school students characteristics, types or models, procedures, and assessment in integrated learning. It is expected that the teaching methods of integrated learning course use direct practice in Elementary school. while the evaluation system is in written form and practice.

Abstract

Abstract The lack of media in thematic learning underlies this study. This study aims at developing KARTIK (Thematic Card), and specifically describes, (1) steps of KARTIK media development, (2) feasibility of KARTIK according to experts, (3) students' responses to the KARTIK media. Drawing upon the notions developed by this Research and Development consisted of seven stages, namely collecting information, planning, developing preliminary product, preliminary field testing, main product revision, main field testing, and revision. The subjects in this study were 10 graders of Grojogan Public Elementary School in limited trial and 30 students in the main trial. Questionnaires were used for data collection, and the data was analyzed using quantitative descriptive. The KARTIK media was developed through seven steps, namely determining the theme, designing card, designing content, designing user manual, designing card box, expert validation, and product trial. The results showed that the KARTIK media was appropriate for use for grade II primary school students. Media experts score 86 (very good), material experts score 42 (good), and learning experts score 40 (good). The Students responses were 96.92% (very good) and 98.2% in the main group trials. The KARTIK media was declared appropriate for use.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan mengetahui keefektifan LKS tematik berbasis local wisdom terhadap karakter kerja sama siswa kelas 1 sekolah dasar. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian quasi eksperimen dengan desain pretest posttest control group design. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah seluruh siswa kelas 1 sekolah dasar. Penelitian ini terdiri atas kelompok kontrol dan kelompok eksperimen. Kelompok kontrol adalah kelas 1B dengan jumlah 24 siswa dan kelompok eksperimen adalah siswa kelas 1A yang berjumlah 23 siswa. Teknik pengumpulan data yang digunakan adalah observasi dan wawancara. Untuk menguji keefektifan LKS tematik berbasis local wisdom terhadap karakter kerja sama siswa digunakan Independent Sample T-Test. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penggunaan LKS tematik berbasis local wisdom efektif terhadap karakter kerja sama siswa kelas 1. Hal ini didasarkan pada hasil uji hipotesis yang menunjukkan nilai sig 0,006 yang artinya nilai tersebut < 0,05 maka H1 diterima. Selain itu, penggunaan LKS berbasis local wisdom di kelas eksperimen juga terbukti lebih dapat meningkatan karakter kerja sama siswa dalam beberapa aspek seperti anak menerima dengan baik tugas yang diberikan oleh kelompok, mau menerima pendapat dari teman lain ketika diskusi, dan anak bersedia membantu teman yang kesulitan.

Abstract:. Indonesia is widely known as a multicultural nation which upholds respect and manners. Respect character can be interpreted as a good attitude for others. However, now the phenomenon of gradually decreasing of children's respect for friends and elder people including teachers has been worrying. Therefore, it is necessary to strengthen students’ respect character, and it should be taught as early as possible. One of the efforts that can be done to strengthen the children’s respect character is by integraing traditional games in primary school learning. The game "Jaranan" which comes from Central Java seems to be appropriate to teach children importance togetherness and respect for elder people.Keyword: local wisdom, respect character, primary school students Abstrak: Indonesia dikenal luas sebagai negara multikultural yang menjunjung tinggi rasa hormat dan sopan santun. Karakter respek dapat diartikan sebagai sikap yang baik untuk orang lain. Namun, sekarang fenomena penurunan rasa hormat anak-anak secara bertahap untuk teman dan orang tua termasuk guru telah mengkhawatirkan. Oleh karena itu, perlu untuk memperkuat karakter penghormatan siswa, dan itu harus diajarkan sedini mungkin. Salah satu upaya yang dapat dilakukan untuk memperkuat karakter rasa hormat anak adalah dengan mengintegrasikan permainan tradisional dalam pembelajaran sekolah dasar. Permainan "Jaranan" yang berasal dari Jawa Tengah tampaknya tepat untuk mengajarkan anak-anak pentingnya kebersamaan dan menghormati orang tua.Kata Kunci: kearifan lokal, karakter menghormati, siswa SD

Abstract

Tujuan utama dari usaha pelayanan ini adalah untuk meningkatkan pemahaman guru terhadap pembelajaran yang berbeda, khususnya melalui pemanfaatan kerangka pedagogi Teaching at The Right Level (TaRL), dan meningkatkan keahlian mereka dalam pembuatan modul pedagogis. Pendekatan yang digunakan untuk pengabdian ini melibatkan strategi pedagogis yang beragam, mencakup sesi-sesi didaktik, diskusi interaktif, dan peluang pembelajaran berdasarkan pengalaman yang diselenggarakan melalui latihan dan kegiatan pembimbingan terstruktur. Data dikumpulkan menggunakan kombinasi kuesioner peserta dan kurasi dokumen-dokumen instruksional yang relevan. Kegiatan ini berlangsung selama dua hari, yang mencakup urutan komponen instruksional yaitu: (1) eksplorasi komprehensif terhadap prinsip-prinsip pembelajaran yang berbeda dan pendekatan pedagogi TaRL, (2) pemeriksaan mendalam terhadap metodologi dan teknik pembelajaran yang berbeda dan TaRL, dan (3) panduan komprehensif dalam merumuskan sumber daya pedagogis yang didukung oleh pendekatan TaRL. Hasil dari intervensi pedagogis ini telah menghasilkan peningkatan yang dapat dilihat dalam pemahaman guru terhadap pembelajaran yang berbeda dan pendekatan TaRL. Terutama, analisis kuantitatif dari data yang terkumpul menunjukkan peningkatan yang signifikan secara statistik dalam skor rata-rata sebelum pelatihan, dengan skor rata-rata awal sebesar 50,50, meningkat menjadi 80,62 setelah pelatihan. Selain itu, sejumlah besar guru telah menunjukkan kemampuan dalam merancang modul pengajaran.
