Abstract

The objectives of the research are to classify the accuracy in translating cartoon  from  English  to Indonesian  subtitles,  to  determine  the  accuracy  and readability of translating English to Indonesian subtitles of Tayo Cartoon movie by the amateur translator. This research is a descriptive qualitative method. Data of this research are utterances or sentences in subtitle movies of the bilingual edition, both English and Indonesian. Meanwhile, the source of the data is Tayo Cartoon movie. In analyzing the data, researchers used a comparison method to compare Source Language (SL) and Target Language (TL). This research shows that the subtitle made by the subtitling class students as the amateur translator acceptable for the children with some reconciliation from SL into TL. In conclusion, it can be concluded that the translation quality of Tayo Cartoon movie by the subtitling class students as the amateur translator is accurate.

Abstract

This qualitative case study investigates how Virtual Reality (VR) mediates English for Academic Purposes (EAP) in a History course from the standpoint of Indonesian EFL undergraduates. Thirty students at a public university in East Java participated in a two-session VR sequence of short 360° “field trips” followed by evidence-anchored speaking and writing. informed by disciplinary literacy in History and genre-based EAP pedagogy. Data were generated through non-participant classroom observations, semi-structured interviews, and brief open-ended reflections. Data were analyzed using reflexive thematic analysis. Findings indicate predominantly positive attitudes toward VR-mediated EAP in the Indonesian higher education setting. Students reported that VR sharpened attention to historical features, supplied shared visual evidence that made discussion more purposeful, and supported movement from description to interpretation and evaluation in short academic products. Learners perceived gains in discipline-relevant lexis (materials/condition, spatial relations, chronology) and increased willingness to speak when guided-noticing prompts and sentence stems were available. Reported constraints, brief motion discomfort, bandwidth/device interruptions, and elevated cognitive effort at the moment of articulation were mitigated by short viewing segments, a one-minute reset, and role rotation during device sharing. The study concludes that, when braided with genre-aware scaffolds, VR functions as a practical mediational tool for fostering participation, clarity of ideas, and discipline-specific vocabulary in History-oriented EAP within Indonesian higher education.

Abstract

Objectives:   This study aims to assess the self-efficacy levels and problem-solving abilities of ninth-grade students at MTs Muhammadiyah Gemolong in Aqidah Akhlak learning. It also seeks to examine the correlation between self-efficacy and problem-solving abilities, contributing to the achievement of Sustainable Development Goal 4 (Quality Education). Theoretical framework: The research is based on Bandura’s self-efficacy theory and problem-solving theory, applied to the context of Quality Education in Sustainable Development Goal 4. Literature review:  Previous studies indicate a positive relationship between self-efficacy and problem-solving skills. However, research specifically examining this in Aqidah Akhlak learning is limited. Method: A quantitative correlational design was used in this study, which involved 87 ninth-grade students at MTs Muhammadiyah Gemolong. A simple random sampling technique selected 71 students as participants. Data were collected using validated self-efficacy questionnaires and problem-solving tests. The data were analyzed using the Kolmogorov-Smirnov normality test and Pearson’s Product-Moment correlation, conducted with SPSS version 26.0. Result: The study found that 66.20% of students had moderate self-efficacy, and 67.61% exhibited moderate problem-solving ability. A significant positive correlation (r = 0.247, p = 0.038) was found between self-efficacy and problem-solving ability, indicating a low but positive relationship between the two variables. Implications: Enhancing self-efficacy can improve problem-solving skills in Aqidah Akhlak learning, supporting the goals of Sustainable Development Goal 4. Novelty: This study provides new insights into the relationship between self-efficacy and problem-solving abilities in Aqidah Akhlak learning, an area with limited research.

Abstract

This article mainly explores Mandarin Oriental Singapore’s Commercial Text among New Students: A Commercial Material Developments. This study uses participatory action research (PAR). The result indicates thatcommercial texts in the classroom student had autonomy in making a decision on particular lexico-grammatical resources they need to learn more or discuss with their pair, small group, and whole class discussion. They learn not only by locally produced materials but also commercial materials. These commercial materials drove them drawing on observation and reflective data, as the students engaged in meaning-making activities, they analyzed a variety of texts they read and shared the outcome of the analysis with their peers. This meaning-making engagement allowed them to understand and interpret texts in new and varied ways (Hodgson-Drysdale, 2014) so that relationship between content and language was evident.

Abstract

Objective: This study aims to assess the effectiveness of the implementation of the e-Monep policy in the Development Administration Section of the Boalemo Regency Regional Secretariat by identifying obstacles in the organizational, interpretation, and implementation dimensions, as well as formulating improvement recommendations based on empirical findings. Theoretical framework: Using the Charles O Jones policy implementation framework that examines organization, interpretation, and implementation as an analytical basis for implementing capacity, policy interpretation processes, and operational practices. Literature review: Includes studies of public policy implementation, electronic governance for monitoring, evaluation, and reporting of local governments, and public sector change management with a focus on human resource competencies, information and communication technology infrastructure, cross-unit coordination, and policy communication. Method: The study used a descriptive qualitative approach from August to September 2025 with thirteen informants through purposive and snowball sampling; data were collected through interviews, documentation, and observation; analysis included reduction, presentation, conclusion drawn, and verification using credibility tests. Results: The organizational dimension has not been optimal due to limitations in competence, facilities, and coordination; the interpretation dimension is relatively adequate through routine socialization and effective communication; the implementation dimension has not achieved the goals due to input delays, technical constraints, and infrastructure limitations. Implications: It is necessary to strengthen operator competence, provide and maintain infrastructure, strengthen cross-unit coordination, standardize procedures, establish clear performance indicators, discipline input schedules, as well as provide technical support and data standardization. Novelty: Systematic application of the Jones framework in the context of the current e-Monep region that reveals the asymmetry of progress between dimensions and marks a lever point for improvement in competence, facilities, and coordination.
