Abstract

Civil Education is a compulsory course that is held throughout the universities in Indonesia. The discussion in this course is the history of five principles, the understanding of five principles, elements of ethics according to five principles, The Constitution, and the laws relating to five principles and citizenship. The material which given by Lecturer in this subject is by oral presentation, where the lecturer gives a material and followed by a discussion or question and answer. In this study, researchers wanted to apply PBL (problem based learning) in the civil education course. The aim in this research is the researchers can determine the students understanding of this subject during class is not just rely on the material on the concept of five principles, Citizenship and legislation, but also associated with a problem that is happening and related with this course. The expectations from this research is students can have better cognitive abilities if the discussion of five principles course to be combined with the implementation of PBL compared to oral lecturing course. Abstract

Abstract. In educational institutions such as universities, use of the smartphones, especially the Instant Messaging (IM) application, allowing employees, including lecturers are able to communicate and share the information anytime and anywhere. This research discussed how IM effectiveness and reliability in increasing employee's performance. The used outcome regression analysis indicated that based on IM effectiveness and reliability, employee's performance increased by using IM assistance in their working activities. The outcome is expected to provide an overview and understanding of the importance in using technology such as IM in increasing employee performance in universities in Pekanbaru.Keywords: Instant messaging, effectiveness, universities, employee, performance.Abstrak. Pada lembaga pendidikan seperti Universitas, penggunaan smartphone terutama aplikasi Instant Messanging (IM) memungkinkan antar karyawan, termasuk dosen untuk dapat berkomunikasi dan berbagi informasi kapan saja dan di mana saja. Dalam penelitian ini dibahas bagaimana efektivitas dan kehandalan IM dalam meningkatkan kinerja karyawan. Hasil analisis regresi yang digunakan menunjukkan bahwa berdasarkan efektifitas dan kehandalan IM, kinerja karyawan mengalami peningkatan dengan menggunakan bantuan IM dalam bekerja. Hasil penelitian ini diharapkan dapat memberikan gambaran dan pemahaman akan pentingnya penggunaan teknologi seperti IM dalam meningkatkan kinerja karyawan pada Universitas di Pekanbaru.Kata kunci: Pesan instan, keefektifan, universitas, karyawan, kinerja.

Abstract

Artikel ini mengkaji strategi politik terbuka Partai Keadilan Sejahtera (PKS) dalam memenangkan persaingan pemilihan gubernur dan wakil gubernur di Provinsi Riau pada tahun 2018. PKS dan partai koalisinya saat itu mengusung pasangan Syamsuar-Edy Natar. PKS melakukan sejumlah strategi politik untuk memenangkan persaingan tersebut, yaitu mobilisasi massa, optimalisasi koalisi partai, pemberdayaan politik, dan strategi komunikasi politik. Artikel ini berargumen bahwa untuk memenangkan persaingan politik, PKS membangun pragmatisme politik dengan menggunakan strategi politik terbuka dalam sistem politik demokrasi di Indonesia. Karena itu, anggapan bahwa PKS menganut ideologi Islam politik yang tertutup dan hanya menunggangi sistem demokrasi adalah kurang tepat. Sebagai partai Islam terbesar di Indonesia, PKS berhasil membuktikan bahwa pragmatisme politik melalui strategi politik terbuka menjadi kunci penopang keberhasilannya dalam persaingan politik di Indonesia. By the 2019 General Election, which took place in 17 April 2019, political parties competed each other to attract voters, especially from late adolescents (aged 18-21). This article analyses the relationship between political trust and intention to vote among the late adolescent voters. Focusing its analysis on students at a university in Surabaya, this article uses a quantitative method with correlational research design. The subject of this study was 214 active students. Using accidental sampling as the sampling method, data were collected through questionnaire and analysed through Spearman’s rho correlation test. The results of this study show that political trust had a positive correlation with voting intention among the late adolescents as seen in the case of university students in Surabaya.

Abstract

The Industrial Revolution 4.0 has brought the consequences of increasing demands for accountability, transparency for all organization. This is made about a change in the organizational design paradigm. In this RI 4.0, adactive power and fast responsive are the key to success achieving the organization's vision and mission. . It is a challenge for universities to adjust various problems in this era of disruption. The transformation of educational organizations is one of alternative in order to realize that is oriented to public services and to prepare competent human resources in their fields. This research offers a solution for universities to find out how far the university is prepared to face this era. The research used a descriptive method with a qualitative approach. By using purposive sampling and determined data source by snowball, the results showed that the transformation of universities in Riau had to immediately adapt of demands in RI 4.0. The IT management level process showed that it was still in level 2, which is the managed process level. These processes were still at level 1 and level 2 so they need to be increased to a minimum at level 3 (Established). It is recommended to improve the management of IT services and the application of information security management become more effective, increasing the adaptive power of the industrial revolution 4.0

Abstract

Pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini dilaksanakan di Kecamatan Dayun Kabupaten Siak. Adapun materi yang disampaikan adalah model pencegahan kabut asap akibat kebakaran hutan dan lahan (karhutla) berbasis sistem informasi dan penguatan kebijakan mengenai kebencanaan. Kegiatan ini berguna bagi masyarakat dan stakeholder terkait mengenai pentingnya meminimalisir bencana asap dan Potensi kebakaran hutan dan lahan. Aspek sistem Informasi yang disampaikan yakni melakukan deteksi asap dengan menggunakan alat pendeteksi asap dan aspek kebijakan yakni mengarahkan kembali masyarakat untuk mematuhi aturan terkait seperti peraturan desa, peraturan daerah dan undang-undang mengenai kebencanaan. Adapun dampak yang diperoleh dari kegiatan ini adalah meningkatnya kesadaran dan kewaspadaan masyarakat terhadap bencana asap di Kecamatan Dayun Kabupaten Siak.

Abstract

Social media has more capabilities of transferring ideas, disseminating various purposes, including political campaign content through social media more quickly and almost without any boundaries. Social media can also as the communication tools where everyone influences each other, including in terms of influencing voters and in this case it will become a novice voter for high school students in the Meranti Islands Regency. Novice voters are identical to smartphones and social media. This activity aims to educate novice voters in determining and making choices based on what they experienced in social media so that they have sufficient knowledge and become wiser, and also ready to participate in the general election.

Abstract

Kinerja pelayanan publik menjadi hal yang penting dalam memberikan pelayanan kepada pengguna jasa. salah satu hal yang dapat mempengaruhi tingkat pendidikan pegawai sebagai sumber daya manusia. Penelitian ini mengungkapkan sejauh mana tingkat pendidikan (x) pegawai berpengaruh terhadap kinerja pegawai (y) dalam melayani masyarakat di kantor kecamatan Kampar Kiri Hulu. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan menggunakan survei lapangan. 40 orang secara sukarela sebagai responden dengan tingkat respon 80%. Hasil uji regresi yang diperoleh adalah tingkat pendidikan berpengaruh terhadap kinerja pegawai sebesar 38%. Dalam penelitian ini juga digunakan beberapa variabel pemoderasi seperti pangkat atau jabatan pegawai, masa kerja, dan pengalaman pelatihan sehingga mempengaruhi hasil yang diperoleh.

Abstract

ABSTRACT Youth development undertaken by the Government of Riau Province through the Office of Youth and Sports as its leading sector is a responsibility that can not be ignored. Successfull of youth development is the key to open up opportunities in other development sectors. The importance of youth development become crtitical thing in this research. The goal is describing the effectiveness of youth development that has been done by related agencies in the Year 2014-2016. This research uses qualitative research method by using primary data source (through interview technique) and secondary data (documentation and other media). The theory used the effectiveness theory proposed by Martani and Lubis. Measuring the effectiveness of an organization or activity program, the author using three indicators. First, judging from the source approach (Resource Approach). Second, from the process approach (process approach). And Third, in terms of the target approach. Based on these three indicators, it can be concluded that youth development undertaken by the Riau provincial government through the Office of Youth and Sports in 2014-2016 is not optimal (less effective). Keberhasilan dalam pembangunan kepemudaan merupakan kunci untuk membuka peluang bagi keberhasilan di berbagai sektor pembangunan lainnya. Pentingnya pembangunan kepemudaan ini telah penulis untuk melakukan penelitian ini. Tujuannya adalah untuk mengetahui efektivitas pembangunan kepemudaan yang telah di lakukan oleh instansi terkait pada Tahun 2014-2016. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode penelitian kualitatif dengan menggunakan sumber data primer (melalui teknik wawancara) dan data skunder (dokumentasi dan media lainnya). Teori yang digunakan adalah teori efektivitas yang dikemukakan oleh Martani dan Lubis. Untuk  mengukur efektivitas sebuah organisasi atau program kegiatan, ada tiga indikator. Pertama, dilihat dari sisi pendekatan sumber (Resource Approach). Kedua, dari sisi pendekatan proses (process approach). Dan Ketiga, dilihat dari sisi pendekatan sasaran (goals approach). Berdasarkan ketiga indikator tersebut, dapat disimpulkan bahwa pembangunan kepemudaan yang dilakukan oleh pemerintah Provinsi Riau melalui Dinas Kepemudaan dan Olahraga Tahun 2014-2016 belum optimal (kurang efektif). Abstract

Based on estate statistics collected by the Ministry of Agriculture of the Republic of Indonesia, that in 2017 the total area of plantations producing Sago Islands Regency reaches 91,944 hectares and plant production of 418,802 tons. The number increased from 2 years earlier, namely in 2015 sago plant area was 83,691 ha with a production yield of 366,032 tons and in 2016 sago plant area was 89,611 ha with a production yield of 377,914. This study tries to trace the direction of the sago-based policy development Center for Small and Medium Industries in the Meranti Islands District. This research was conducted with a qualitative approach which is research that focuses on the concepts that arise from the data. The results of the analysis and interpretation of data in the form of exposure to the situation under study and then given a narrative and systematic explanation. The results showed that policies in order to encourage the development of sago-based Small and Medium Industrial Centers in the Regency of Meranti Islands including carried out with scenarios of structuring the location of activities, land use plans, efforts to map the transportation network system plans, telecommunications, electricity and clean water.

Abstract

Dayun is one of the villages in the Siak Regency. Every year, the thread of fire and haze disaster always occurs and causes economic losses and health impairment of the villagers. This Community service was in partnership with the Regional Disaster Management Agency of Siak Regency. Through the integrated Community service program for the student of Abdurrab University, collaborating with the Lecturer’s Community Service program, the students from various majors are taking action to the community service in Dayun Village. The activities were to transfer the knowledge to the community and designing an early detection system. During the program, the students were creating media designs such as videos and pamphlets. Some Informatics students were developing a web-based application for early detection. The results were presented at the Regional Disaster Management Agency of Siak Regency and acquired positive responses from the participants.
