Abstract

Abstract: This study was conducted to find out the effect of Problem Solving technique and motivation toward students’ writing skills in STKIP Adzkia. This research was based on the problems which were occurred in the writing class. The students at STKIP Adzkia did not sufficiently-learn skills on how to make a good paragraph, how to get many ideas when they start their writings and how to arrange their ideas systematically. This research was a quasi-experimental research with factorial design 2x2. The instruments that were used for this research were writing test and motivation questionnaire. T-test analysis and two ways ANOVA analysis were used in analyzing the data. The result of this research revealed that: (1) Students who were taught by Problem Solving Technique were better than students who were taught by brainstorming technique toward students’ writing skill; (2) Students who had high motivation and were taught by Problem Solving Technique were better than who thought by Brainstorming technique; (3) Students who had low motivation and were taught by Problem Solving Technique were better than who were thought by Brainstorming technique; (4) There was no interaction between technique and motivation toward students’ writing skill. The Findings had been proven that Problem Solving technique gave significant impact on students’ writing skills. Keywords: Problem Solving technique; motivation; writing skill  Abstrak: Penelitian ini dilakukan untuk mengetahui pengaruh teknik Problem Solving dan motivasi terhadap keterampilan menulis siswa di STKIP Adzkia. Penelitian ini didasarkan pada masalah yang terjadi di kelas menulis. Mahasiswa STKIP Adzkia tidak cukup mempelajari keterampilan membuat paragraf yang baik, cara mendapatkan banyak ide saat memulai tulisan dan cara menyusun ide secara sistematis. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian eksperimen semu dengan desain faktorial 2x2. Instrumen yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah tes menulis dan angket motivasi. Analisis uji-t dan analisis ANOVA dua arah digunakan dalam menganalisis data. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa: (1) Siswa yang diajar dengan Teknik Problem Solving lebih baik daripada siswa yang diajar dengan teknik brainstorming terhadap keterampilan menulis siswa; (2) Siswa yang memiliki motivasi tinggi dan diajar dengan Teknik Problem Solving lebih baik daripada siswa yang berpikir dengan teknik Brainstorming; (3) Siswa yang memiliki motivasi rendah dan diajar dengan Teknik Pemecahan Masalah lebih baik daripada yang berpikir dengan teknik Brainstorming; (4) Tidak ada interaksi antara teknik dan motivasi terhadap keterampilan menulis siswa. Temuan telah membuktikan bahwa teknik Problem Solving memberikan dampak yang signifikan terhadap keterampilan menulis siswa. Kata kunci: Teknik Pemecahan Masalah; motivasi; keterampilan menulis

Abstract

Perkembangan zaman yang semakin maju dan masuknya budaya luar berdampak pada memudarnya suatu budaya yang berpengaruh terhadap masalah kebahasaan. Pola pikir masyarakat yang cenderung dinamis mengakibatkan masyarakat kurang berpartisipasi dalam melestarikan bahasa daerahnya masing-masing. Penggunaan bahasa oleh masyarakat penuturnya bermakna dan mengacu pada suatu peristiwa, tindakan, benda dan keadaan. Peristiwa yang terjadi direlisasikan dengan bahasa sebagai perantara penuturnya. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk menemukan istilah-istilah yang sering digunakan dalam keseharian masyarakat melayu asahan dalam bentuk (1) monomorfemis, (2) polimorfemis. untuk melestarikan kearifan lokal dan memaparkan istilah bahasa yang muncul dalam pelestarian bahasa yang digunakan masyarakat melayu asahan dalam kesehariannya. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan etnolinguistik secara teoretis, dan pendekatan deskriptif kualitatif secara metodologis. Data yang dianalisis berupa penggalan tuturan yang digunakan untuk mengungkapkan istilah-istilah yang sering digunakan masyarakat melayu asahan untuk melestarikan kearifan lokal masyarakat melayu asahan. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan data yang mengandung (1) bentuk satuan monomorfemis (2) bentuk satuan polimorfemis

Abstract

This activity aims to overcome a problem regarding students' interest in reading at UPTD State Elementary School 014672 Tanjung Alam which is considered still low. This can be identified through the results of the 2022 education report card and also from observations regarding the implementation of the School Literacy Movement (GLS). It is hoped that the literacy movement that has been implemented in schools can help students improve their literacy skills. However, on the contrary, this movement has not been carried out optimally so that literacy skills are still low. Students' literacy skills are low because students' interest in reading is also low. Therefore, teachers in this case should have creativity in accompanying the implementation of school literacy movement activities. One way to increase students' reading comprehension is by implementing a reading challenge method. In this method, students will be invited to go to the reading corner or library to read books they like. The teacher here supervises or monitors students who are reading. Then, 15 minutes before the lesson starts, students report to the teacher the books they have read. For students who read the most, for example in one month, that student is given a reward. Through this activity, it is hoped that students at the school will be able to increase their interest in reading. Keywords: reading challenge method; reading interest; school literacy movement.

Abstract

This study discusses the socialization of drug prevention and impacts for the younger generation, especially students. The main objective of this socialization is to provide a comprehensive understanding of the dangers of drugs, both physically, mentally, socially, and legally, and to encourage students to avoid such risky behavior. The socialization method involves educational activities such as seminars, counseling, and interactive discussions attended by students, teachers, and parents. The results of the study show that consistent and comprehensive socialization is effective in increasing students' awareness of the risks of drugs, as well as strengthening their resilience to reject negative influences. In addition, the involvement of the school and family environment plays a significant role in providing support for students to build a drug-free environment. Thus, drug prevention socialization is an important step in maintaining the health of the younger generation and preparing them as superior human resources.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to determine the values ​​of life in the Best Gift Novel, written by J.S. Khairen and Its Relevance to Literature Learning in High Schools through the study of the sociology of literature. The object of this study is the Best Gift Novel by J.S. Second printing of Khairen, July 2022. The method used iis descriptive qualitative. The data in this study are taken from the  text, contained in the Best Gift Novel by J.S. Khairen. Data are analyzed by reading and note-taking techniques. The results of this study show the values ​​of life in the Best Gift Novel by J.S. Khairen includes social values ​​which include helping each other, friendship, cooperation, caring for others. Moral values ​​that include never giving up, honesty, responsibility, compassion. Religious values ​​that include prayer, gratitude, gratitude, sincere. The study of these values ​​can be integrated into everyday life which can shape the character of students, in case of that the Best Gift Novel by J.S. Khairen can be relevant to Literature Learning in High Schools.
