Abstract

In this study, the writer explained about the analysis of the topic of Code Mixing occurs, the reasons, and also the frequency of Code Mixing happened among the radio announcers in Maestro Gate FM Radio of Moslem University of Indonesia. The writer uses descriptive qualitative method for analyze the use of Code mixing among the radio announcers; there are some tables and descriptive explanation of each table. When a word or a phrase from another language then Code Mixing occurred. This phenomenon happened to the radio announcers commonly. Especially the announcers of Maestro Gate FM Radio always mix the codes in some particular programs. The writer expected that the use of Code Mixing among the radio announcers that they should understand “why” and “how” Code-mixing happens in their life for communicating. So they can inform and share the main purpose of announcing some programs and give a lot of benefit through the languages they used. Because it can stimulate the environment to develop the other languages to be learned by the listener.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the differences in learning outcomes between students which follows the course of study with students who do not join the course in terms of. Lessons English lessons are considered difficult by most students. This is caused by many factors diantanya class hours less, the lack of professionalism of teachers, learning styles unpleasant and so forth. To that end, so that more students master the learning should be given an extra hour, one of them with learning course program. The course is a proactive and systematic efforts in facilitating individuals achieve optimal levels of development, the deve opment of effective behavioral, environmental, and an increase in function or benefit of individuals in their environment. The population in this study is the whole class at SMPN 19 MONCONGLOE. sample includes 20 Siwa took courses and 20 students who did not join the course. In the data collection writers do the following things, namely observation, documentation, and giving the test tothe two groups. The results showed that there were differences in learning outcomes in literacy significant with an average of 90% for students who take courses to learn and 80% for students who do not follow the course to determine whether there are differences in the ability to read the learning outcomes of the two groups, the researchers used data analysis is test test, this is because the data obtained from this research is the normal data differences in learning outcomes of reading skills among students who take courses to learn with students who are not taking a course.

Abstract

The is a scientific work which aims to explain about the meaning of proverbs to-riolo buginese tribe. This research is a qualitative research. The data collected by observation, interview and also research library. The scope of the research is in Watampone bone, South Sulawesi.Proverb to-riolo had four basic (1) bravery (2) wealth (3) honesty and (4) intelligence. The findings of this research after collected data and interviewed other about proverb to-riolo the writer can conclude that proverb to-riolo is a culture of buginese. This Proverb was way how to communication to others and apply the good attitude. The research is meant to preserve and provide additional knowledge and insights of classical literature in South Sulawesi

Abstract

This study aimed to know the kinds of culture shock do the new students of English literature find in communication and to find out the kinds of solution to overcome culture shock problems of the new students. The type of this study is qualitative description that is aim to explain about the culture shock experienced by the new students in campus UMI Makassar. Data collected in the form of words in written or oral. The researcher found that there two things in this research. The first are three kinds of culture shock do the new students found in communication, such as, language, culture, and level of context. The second is to find out the kinds of solution to overcome culture shock problems of the new students. Such as, learn the local language, make local friends, be patient, keep an open mind, do things that are familiar to you, and try to accept the condition.

Abstract

This research aimed to find out the types of speech style Obama used and the dominant type he used. This research is a qualitative research with a descriptive design. In analyzing the data, the writer read the transcript in the video and analyzed the data based on Martin Joos theory. In this research, the writer found that there were three speech styles used by Barrack Obama they were formal style, casual style and intimate style which is formal style has 13 data representing 59%, casual style has 9 data representing 36% and the last is intimate style found only in 1 data or representing 5% of all data. Based on the results there were some conclusions first. There were twenty two sentences to be analyzed and obtained three of speech style they were formal, casual and intimate styles and the dominant style that often appears is the formal style because of the situation in the speech is formal.
