Abstract

The problem of funding and coordinating are the main factors causing the inability of the forum to carry out the institution's mandate.

Abstract

Replanting is an essential step in maintaining palm oil productivity due to aging plants. However, this process causes a drastic decrease in farmers' income, up to 65% during the 3-5 years waiting period for harvest. This study aims to assess the socio- economic impacts and fulfillment strategies undertaken by farmers during the palm oil replanting period in Nagari Sipangkur, Tiumang District, Dharmasraya Regency. This research uses a qualitative approach with a descriptive type. Data collection techniques were carried out through observation, in-depth interviews with 12 informants selected by purposive sampling, and document studies. Data were analyzed using the Miles and Huberman approach of data collection, data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. James S. Coleman's rational choice theoretical framework was used to analyze farmers' strategic choices in meeting their needs. The results showed that farmers chose three main strategies to fulfill their needs during the replanting period. These strategies are occupational strategies by shifting the main job, maximizing asset potential and making efficiency. These strategies reflect farmers' adaptation and resilience in facing economic challenges during replanting. Therefore, this study concludes that in the implementation of replanting, it is very important to build farmers' rationality in maximizing the assets they have to get around economic challenges.

Abstract

This study investigates the complex relationship between state power, broadcasting institutions, and public opinion in Indonesia during the New Order regime under President Soeharto (1966–1998), with particular attention to how media discourse was structured to support political authority and marginalize minority voices. In an authoritarian media environment, broadcasting did not operate as a neutral public communication platform, but as a regulated instrument through which the state managed information, controlled access, and shaped ideological interpretation. Using a qualitative research design, this study draws on archival documents and interviews with media practitioners and broadcasting experts to examine how state policies influenced broadcasting ownership, licensing, editorial direction, and content production. The findings show that institutions such as TVRI and Radio Republik Indonesia functioned as strategic tools of state communication. At the same time, private broadcasters that emerged in the late New Order period remained tied to political and economic elites, limiting genuine media independence. The study further reveals that censorship, centralized supervision by the Ministry of Information, and selective tolerance of limited pluralism enabled the regime to project an image of openness while maintaining strict control over dissenting narratives. This condition not only reinforced regime legitimacy but also constrained public deliberation and weakened the visibility of minority perspectives in the national media sphere. By highlighting the intersection of media discourse, institutional control, and political authority, this study contributes to broader debates on authoritarian communication, media governance, and the political functions of broadcasting in Indonesia’s New Order era.

Abstract

The rapid expansion of Integrated Islamic Kindergartens (TK IT) in Indonesia reflects broader transformations in the relationship between religion, education, and state governance in contemporary Muslim societies. However, existing studies on Sekolah Islam Terpadu (SIT) have largely focused on curriculum implementation and educational management, with limited attention to how these institutions negotiate hybridity between Islamic ideology and formal state education systems. This study aimed to examine the forms and practices of hybridity within TK IT in Padang City, Indonesia. Using a qualitative case study approach, data were collected through in-depth interviews, observations, and document analysis involving six TK IT affiliated with JSIT, ASESI, and non-affiliated institutions. Data were analyzed using thematic analysis based on the interactive model of Miles and Huberman. The findings revealed three dominant forms of hybridity: integrative hybridity in TK IT JSIT, selective-defensive hybridity in TK IT ASESI, and adaptive-pragmatic hybridity in non-affiliated TK IT. These forms of hybridity were reflected in curriculum integration, institutional governance, pedagogical practices, and moral regulation. This study contributes to hybridity scholarship by demonstrating that hybridity within Islamic education involves ideological negotiation, identity construction, and epistemological reconstruction. The findings also provide broader insights into contemporary debates on faith-based education, Islamic educational modernity, and state-religion relations in Muslim societies.

Abstract

This study examines the adaptation strategies of single-parent female farm labor in Nagari Koto Salak, Dharmasraya Regency, who face multiple social and economic challenges. With unstable incomes below the regional minimum wage, they are solely responsible for household needs, including daily consumption and children’s education, while constrained by low education levels, limited access to resources, and minimal social support. Using John W. Bennett’s (1976) framework of adaptation strategies—behavioral, tactical, and process—this research employs a descriptive qualitative approach. Data were collected through non-participant observation, in-depth interviews, and document analysis, involving eight main informants and eight supporting informants selected through purposive sampling. The findings reveal three key strategies: reducing consumption (behavioral), utilizing household resources, seasonal savings groups (arisan), income diversification, and borrowing (tactical), as well as participation in social groups such as dasawisma, religious study groups, and farmer groups (process). These strategies highlight the resilience and adaptive capacity of women in sustaining family livelihoods under vulnerable conditions.
