Abstract

There is an ideology in every movement. Of course, that ideology that constructs the pattern of organizational movement. This phenomenon is an assumption in this paper, and will be broadly elaborated . In particularly; This study will describe the genealogy, reason, and patterns of salafism movement in Indonesia. The reason why this study seeks to understand the theme because the movement of salafism in Indonesia has emerged dramatically. It can be understood from the acts of terrorism that occurred. There are at least 4 acts of terrorism in 2000; 3 acts of terrorism in 2001; And 1 acts of terrorism in the 2000 Bali bombing which Is the most dramatic act of terrorism and the bombing action at J.W. Marriot hotel in 2003. These acts of terrorism are facts which suggest that the movement of salafism flourished in Indonesia. The data also encourages the study of why terrorism appears in Indonesia? What are the reasons? What is the root of the movement of salafism in Indonesia? The questions above are the research questions. And it all comes from the research paradigm chosen in this study, which is the paradigm of conflict. Assuming that acts of terrorism can be understood as a conflict process. It is not a single process that is the complete reason why terrorism arises, especially in Indonesia. The perspective of Marxism is considered quite possible to explain the factors causing terrorist acts, and the growing of the network in Indonesia. Actually, by using the paradigm of conflict; Violence, and horror acts perpetrated by terrorist networks can be detected why such malicious acts occurred in Indonesia. To analyze the data, this study uses the interpretative. And it's a concern to analyze the conflict between salafism, and others. This process allows the conclusion that the causal factor is the difference in doctrine between terrorism and the others-state, and the notion of neo-liberalism.

Abstract

This article examines the implications of Ramadan on social cohesion in communities in West Sumatra and Yogyakarta. The issue is based on the assumption that Ramadan is a religious momentum that is only concerned with the vertical affairs between humans and their Lord alone and has a social dimension, i.e., values of solidarity, sense of belonging, tolerance, and social harmony. These are fostered through religious rituals such as fasting, zakat, and other kinds of worship. The study adopted a qualitative approach and was supported by survey data on several selected community samples. Survey data was collected related to the volume of philanthropy, the frequency of ritual worship during the month of Ramadan concerning the level of quality of social cohesion, solidarity, and social trustworthiness. In addition, the data were collected through a questionnaire instrument to capture the fundamental impact of Ramadan on strengthening social capital. In general, this study concludes that West Sumatra is superior to Yogyakarta for its social cohesion on 3 (three) indicators: moral feeling, sense of belonging, and social harmony. However, despite the difference in numbers between the two regions, there are differences among indicators. While for the other two indicators, safety feeling and tolerance, Yogyakarta is better than West Sumatra.

Abstract

This study aims to explore why homosexual and lesbian households can survive as couples' households in general. The research method in this study is a qualitative research with a case study approach. The data in this study were collected using in-depth interview techniques. The data sources in this study are primary data sources taken from homosexual and lesbian families. This study found that there are two factors that cause homosexual and lesbian families to survive. First, the presence of children in a homosexual family becomes a mediation that can reduce both partners, even though the husband or wife already knows that homosexuality and lesbianism are deviant acts. Second, economic dependence, such as doubts about the establishment of life, is also a factor in the survival of homosexual and lesbian households. This study concludes that although homosexuals and lesbians are deviant behaviors, there are conditions and factors that cause homo and lesbi families to persist.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the relationship between state and religion due to polarization and identity politics during Joko Widodo's leadership in Indonesia. The data in this study were collected through media coverage of political events related to religion from 2014 to 2019. The media that became the data source were the online news portals Kompas.com, Tempo.com, Detik.com. The three online news portals were chosen on the basis of their existence being verified and on a national scale. Data were analyzed in four stages; data management, data memoing, description-classification-data interpretation and data visualization. This study finds that the relationship between the state and religion has entered a paradoxical relationship phase, which is indicated by various contradictory policies. This paradox was deliberately built by President Joko Widodo as a way and strategy to build a fantasy of power.

Abstract

This research aims to investigate the settlement pattern of inheritance disputes in Nagari Salareh Aia as well as the impact of this settlement pattern. This is a field study using customary law and Islamic law approaches. Data were obtained through interviews and document studies. To analyze data, the Creswell approach was used, which includes data reduction, data verification, and drawing conclusion. This research reveals three significant findings. First, the customary settlement pattern, for heirs who control punah inheritance, is done by selling it to other. If there are one or more heirs, the remaining sale of the assets is divided among the heirs after the Mamak's rights are excluded. Second, the settlement of punah inheritance disputes in Salareh Aia fosters close family ties. It also clarifies the heirs' position regarding inheritance and property status, whether it is a high inheritance or low inheritance. Third, based on the pattern of settlement and the resulting impact, it can be concluded that the mechanism for resolving disputes over the Punah inheritance in the Nagari Salareh Aia has fulfilled sharia principles, namely to maintain the property and the honor of the people.
