Abstract

Sculpture is three-dimensional works created as a way to communicate the artist to the recipient. In general, the sculpture has the look of a close spatial relationship with the planning and preparation form. By some artists of this digital technology is processed and used as a means of creative media. Planning can form through the process without the process technology or technology-based aritmatic row that work based programming language. Blend series aritmatic 0 1 in binary processing will change analog data into an array of data will produce the color through the liquid crystal display (LCD) or cathode ray tube (CRT). Analog data in the form sculpture sketch plan will be changed into electronic visual data displayed through the LCD or CRT screen.

Abstract

Penelitian ini adalah sebuah eksplorasi penciptaan untuk mendapatkan produk keramikyang menekankan pada effect finishing guna terciptanya keramik yang memiliki nuansa etnisIndonesia sehingga dapat berkompetisi pada pasar global. Hal ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkandaya saing produk-produk para pengrajin keramik dalam rangka menghadapi pasar bebas asiatenggara atau sering disebut Masyarakat Ekonomi Asean (MEA). Target penelitian pada tahunpertama menciptakan produk keramik dengan finishing burning untuk memperoleh efek yangunik dan menarik. Teknik burning terhadap unsur cat baik yang water base maupun oil basedapat memberikan kesan antik dan maskulin sesuai dengan kecenderungan desain (trenddesain) saat ini. Metode yang dilakukan adalah dengan melakukan eksperimen pada prosesfinishing keramik guci untuk menghasilkan efek bakar. Kata Kunci: keramik, finishing burning effect, masyarakat ekonomi Asean.

Abstract

One type of artwork in three dimensions is sculpture. As part of fine art, sculpture is an artistic and aesthetic statement through three-dimensional forms. Each form of car or motorcycle engine is unique. The number of machines that can no longer be used and are only piled up in the trash or even in a flea collector and destroyed again to be used as a material for machine makers that gave rise to the idea of utilizing the metal waste into three-dimensional art forms. The technique used in the embodiment of art is construction using welding and screw raft techniques. The machines will be arranged and integrated in such a way as to form a three-dimensional work according to the basic idea of making the work.Keywords: Exploration, Machine, Sculpture Salah satu jenis karya seni yang berbentuk tiga dimensi adalah seni patung. Sebagai bagian dari seni rupa, seni patung merupakan pernyataan artistik dan estetik melalui bentuk-bentuk tiga dimensional. Setiap bentuk mesin mobil maupun motor memiliki keunikan yang berbeda-beda. Banyaknya mesin-mesin yang sudah tidak bisa digunakan lagi dan hanya ditumpuk di tempat sampah atau bahkan di tukang loak dan dihancurkan lagi untuk dijadikan bahan pembuat mesin yang baru memunculkan ide untuk memanfaatkan limbah logam tersebut ke dalam bentuk seni tiga dimensi. Teknik yang digunakan dalam perwujudan karya seni adalah konstruksi menggunakan teknik rakit las dan sekrup. Mesin-mesin akan disusun dan dipadukan sedemikian rupa sehingga membentuk karya tiga dimensi seuai dengan ide dasar pembuatan karya. Kata Kunci: Eksplorasi, Mesin, Patung

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk memahami fungsi dan makna bangunan TuguYogyakarta. Tugu Yogyakarta adalah bangunan berbentuk prisma segi empatdan menggunakan unsur-unsur seni rupa berupa garis, titik, warna, dan bidangsebagai dasar pembuatannya yang memiliki makna-makna yang dapat dipahamiberdasarkan telaah filosofi masyarakat Jawa. Penelitian ini menggunakan metodepenelitian kualitatif dengan pendekatan ikonografi. Pemaknaan Tugu Yogyakartamengalami pergeseran setiap generasi seiring dengan perubahan budaya masyarakatYogyakarta. Tugu telah berubah dan mulai kehilangan nilai kesakralannya ataumengalamai disakralisasi. Filosofi manunggaling kawula lan Gusti telah hilangdan tidak tercermin pada tugu saat ini. Sehingga bagi Keraton, tugu saat ini tidakbermakna. Tugu bukan lagi menjadi salah satu simbol keraton tetapi lebih padaikon Kota Yogyakarta saja. Tugu Yogyakarta and its Problems on the Aspects of Function and Meaning. Theresearch is aimed to understand the function and meaning of Tugu Yogyakarta. TuguYogyakarta is a rectangular prism-shaped building and uses the meanings implied in thevisual art elements such as lines, dots, color, and the surfaces as they are the basis in themaking process that can be understood by scrutinizing the Javanese society philosophy. Itis a qualitative research using the iconographic approach. The shifting meaning of TuguYogyakarta has gradually been experienced by Yogyakarta people which goes along withthe cultural changes. It has unfortunately changed and started losing its sacred value.‘Manunggaling kawulo lan Gusti’ as its philosophy has gone and no longer reflected bythe monument. Therefore, Tugu Yogyakarta has no meaning today. It is no longer one ofthe Keraton Yogyakarta symbols, but merely as the icon of Yogyakarta city instead.

Abstract

Penelitian artistik ini untuk menciptakan karya seni rupa instalasi dengan prinsip eco art yang bisa difungsikan sebagai photobioreactor untuk kultivasi mikroalga. State of art permasalahan penciptaan karya, meliputi seni rupa instalasi, eco art, kultivasi mikroalga, dan photobioreactor. Tujuan penelitian artistik ini menciptakan karya seni instalasi eco art sebagai media kultivasi mikroalga. Metode penelitian artistik ini adalah practice based research, peneliti menyatu dengan objek yang dikerjakan dalam penghayatan secara timbal balik (in and through), juga harus merujuk metode penciptaan terpublikasi, sehingga tidak subjektif dan pemaparannya rinci. Metode penciptaan David Campbell sebagai rujukan, yaitu preparation, concentration, incubation, illumination, verification-production. Hasil penelitian ini berupa karya instalasi eco art yang secara teknis memenuhi syarat untuk kultivasi mikroalga. Air dengan organisme mikroalga mengalir dalam instalasi melakukan proses fotosintesis, yang bisa menghasilkan bermacam bahan senyawa, seperti senyawa karbohidrat, untuk produksi bio energi, industri farmasi, dan kosmetik. Photobioreactor ini ditampilan sebagai seni instalasi eco art dengan bentuk silinder terpilin, dalam citra artistik estetika kontemporer.Kata Kunci: Instalasi, Eco Art, Photobioreactor, Kultivasi Mikroalga

Abstract

Desa Wukirsari adalah salah satu desa di Kecamatan Imogiri, Kabupaten Bantul, Provinsi Daerah Istimewa Yogyakarta. Selain wayang, karawitan, kerajinan bambu, dan batik tulis, Wukirsari juga dikenal sebagai desa yang mata pencaharian mayoritas warganya adalah berjualan burung. Tujuan pengembangan dan pemberdayaan melalui P3Wilsen di Desa Wukirsari selama satu bulan adalah untuk meningkatkan jenis dan desain kerajinan bambu, mengembangkan keseniian yang sudah ada agar lebih menarik dan menghasilkan kesenian baru, serta membantu masyarakat dalam pembuatan desain lanscape taman burung. Metode yang diambil untuk mengatasi persoalan dengan kegiatan-kegiatan: (1) pendampingan pengembangan desain landscape meliputi: sign system, mural, perancangan taman, dan pembuatan profil; (2) pelatihan kerajinan bambu dan tatah sungging misalnya pengembangan desain dan bentuk dangkar burung yang akan menunjang suvenir Desa Wisata Wukirsari; dan (3) pelatihan tari dan karawitan untuk anak-anak yang nantinya akan menunjang atraksi desa wisata. Kegiatan P3Wilsen ini telah mencapai hasil berupa: (1) meningkatnya minat dan kemampuan berkesenian masyarakat Wukirsari, (2) meningkatnya kemampuan masyarakat dalam mendesain papan-papan nama dan petunjuk arah yang akan digunakan dalam pembuatan taman penangkaran burung, (3) adanya video yang menunjukkan side plane dan short film dokumenter sebagai sarana promosi, dan (4) meningkatnya ilmu manajemen dalam organisasi atau kelompok penangkar burung dan pengrajin di Wukirsari. Wukirsari village is located at Imogiri Area, Bantul Distrcit, Yogyakarta Specially Designated-Area Province. Aside from wayang (Javenese shadow puppet), karawitan (Javanese traditional instruments), bamboo arts, and handmade batik, Wukirsari is also known as a village in which the residents peddle birds as their main trade. The aim of community development and empowerment thru P3Wilsen at Wukirsari village for a month is to increase the type and design of bamboo arts, improve the existing arts to be more appealing thus generating new arts, and also to help the people in designing bird park landscape. The methods used to tackle the issues are: (1) development assistance in landscaping: sign, system, mural, park planning, and profil making; (2) the training for bamboo arts and carvings, e.g. to develop design and to shape a kind of birdcage as a unique souvenir from Wukirsari Tourist Village; and (3) dance and karawitan for children practices that eventualy support the tourism in the village. The P3Wilsen agenda has gained results such as: (1) Wukirsari villagers’ increasing interest and better ability in arts, (2) the increase of capability for the community to design signboards that will be used in the bird sanctuary development, (3) the creation of a video to show the side plane and as a short documenter film for promotion purposes, and (4) the growth in managing skill within organization or community of the bird breeders and handcrafters in Wukirsari.

Abstract

Coloring plays an important role as an artistic consideration in pottery products for the export market. Burning technique coloring is one of the innovative finishing techniques that have an antique impression. The purpose of this paper is to experiment with the finishing of the burnt technique and its application to the surface of the pottery body to make it look antique or ancient. This is an effort to increase the variety of finishing on the products of the Kasongan Yogyakarta pottery industry. Kasongan is the largest pottery industry in Indonesia. Kasongan Yogyakarta pottery has become an international trade commodity. This paper uses a qualitative descriptive method with an explanation of the flow of the experimentation process for the combustion technique of coloring on Kasongan pottery. The experiment resulted in four findings of the burning technique, namely (1) antique green, (2) antique blue, (3) antique brown, and (4) antique earth color. The experimental results were applied to 8 pottery in the form of statues and decorative vases. It is hoped that it can add variations to the coloring of pottery products and increase sales of Kasongan pottery products.

Abstract

One type of artwork that is three-dimensional is sculpture. The forms to be developed in this creation are various forms of sculptures that represent animal wings using industrial materials, namely car and motorcycle engines. The choice of wing shape is based on the author’s interest in the movement of animal wings that have rhythm and beauty of motion. Wings become an important part of winged animals such as birds and insects. It is these wings that carry them foraging, breeding and living. Through the qualitative approach method with the Research (DBR) method, the author tries to realize aesthetically pleasing three-dimensional artworks with industrial materials. Industrial materials in the form of car engines are assembled into kinetic sculptures that represent the shapes of animal wings. This study aims to conduct experiments combining waste motorcycles and used cars, screws and household tools into sculpture works using welding raft and screw techniques. In addition, this research is also to realize aesthetic ideas and ideas according to empirical abilities and experiences expressed in the form of three-dimensional works.
