Abstract

It not only seeks any ways of assessing student progress towards meeting outcome goals about professionalism, provides feedback and encourage students to take responsibility for setting and achieving high standards of performance, but also involve a direction to the whole teaching how great it supposed to be. This study investigates 45 students of 5 meetings English course at Computer and Informational Technology Faculty, Mulawarman University by using self-assessment followed by an in-depth interview. The instruments used for the survey is a self-made questionnaire based on literature review. In the beginning, a questionnaire was delivered to students to get primary students’ reflection of various writing tasks-specifically or general English terms in many genres - before seeking information was widely involved in an interview of 5 students. The results of this study revealed that 96% of students agreed that they had engaged in useful reflection using self-assessment to the course and 91% agreed that the experience was worthwhile. A further 76% of students agreed that they could see opportunities if many approaches appear in some ways as results of a various writing exercise. For specifically or General English terms of various writing tasks, mostly they favor a creative essay more than a specific essay. This study is believed that it might be as strong recommendation to attend the satisfactory grounding and integrating English on ESP. It also can support for future research what ESP designing supposed to be.

Abstract

Many scholars have studied the Covid 19 epidemic and online-based courses on English lectures using inventive good strategy mapping. Using two online platforms, this study investigated the social practices in learning English as a foreign language. The research method used in this study is a quantitative descriptive method with fifty students from two different study programs: 1) Department of Dentistry, Faculty of Medicine, Universitas Mulawarman; 2) Public Administration Study Program, Faculty of Social and Political Sciences, University of 17 Augustus 1945 Samarinda. A quantitative description was used in this study, followed by an in-depth conversation with a sample of the existing population. The study's findings provide an overview of the usage of social techniques in learning English, with the two groups of students favoring the other five tactics. This research also shows how the two groups of respondents apply various aspects of the technique. The findings of this study are expected to be valuable to teachers and curriculum creators when it comes to setting up cooperative learning online. As part of constructive learning, social strategy is one of the strategies that support our learning style. It should be treated at any English level, rather than achieving learner capacity in English through group discussion. This study should be encouraged to everyone through added study with the same previous activities.

Abstract

This study investigates the application of language learning strategies by different gender of university students. To do so, memory, cognitive, compensation, metacognitive, affective, and social language learning strategies were investigated. To collect data, the Strategy Inventory for Language Learning (SILL; Oxford, 1990) was administered to male and female student. They, then, were analyzed using descriptive statistics. The findings of the study indicated that students used a wider range of learning strategies and different from those often preferred by their gender. Both female and male often use social strategies while the lowest frequency strategy use both them were different. The results of this study can be useful for language teachers instead of raising their awareness on reducing the gap between the students' language learning strategies and their teaching technique preferences.

Abstract

This research was motivated by several public complaints regarding the ineffectiveness of services provided by the Office of Population and Civil Registration of Samarinda City based on observations of researchers in the field. The purpose of this study is to find out how the Effectiveness of Employee Work at the Office of Population and Civil Registration of Samarinda City is. To get the data the author conducted the research. In this study, the type of research taken is qualitative or descriptive research which uses interview, observation and documentation techniques. The results showed that the extent to which the effectiveness of employee performance was good or not. Based on the results of the study, it shows that the effectiveness of the work of the Samarinda City Civil Registry and Service Office employees is good, although there are several things that must be improved.Penelitian ini dilatar belakangi oleh beberapa keluhan masyarakat mengenai tidak efektivnya pelayanan yang diberikan Kantor Dinas Kependudukan Dan Pencatatan Sipil Kota Samarinda berdasarkan observasi peneliti di lapangan. Tujuan penelitian ini mengetahui bagaimana Efektivitas Kerja Pegawai pada Kantor Dinas Kependudukan dan Pencatatan Sipil Kota Samarinda. Untuk mendapatkan data penulis melakukan penelitian tersebut. Dalam penelitian ini jenis penelitian yang diambil adalah kualitatif atau penelitian secara deskriptif yang di dalamnya menggunakan tehnik wawancara, observasi dan dokumentasi. Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa sejauh mana efektivitas kinerja pegawai sudah baik atau belum. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa Efektivitas kerja Pegawai Kantor Dinas dan Pencatatan Sipil Kota Samarinda sudah baik, meski ada beberapa hal yang harus di tingkatkan lagi.

Abstract

Policy implementation is a process of implementing policies carried out by implementors to achieve predetermined goals. Therefore, this study aims to determine the implementation of the child identity card (KIA) policy at the Population and Civil Registration Office of Samarinda City. This research is classified as a type of descriptive research using a qualitative approach. The informants in this study were 7 people as informants. Research data is obtained from various data sources, namely primary data and secondary data. Data collection is done through observation, interviews and documentation. The data analysis techniques used are data reduction, data presentation, conclusion drawing and verification. The results showed that the implementation of the child identity card (KIA) policy at the Population and Civil Registration Office of Samarinda City was quite good. This can be seen from the socialization and printing of children's identity cards carried out directly in elementary schools with competent employees who adhere to the SOPs stipulated in the Samarinda City Regional Regulations.Implementasi kebijakan merupakan suatu proses pelaksanaan kebijakan yang dilaksanakan oleh para implementor untuk mencapai tujuan yang telah ditetapkan. Maka dari itu penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui implementasi kebijakan kartu identitas anak (KIA) di Dinas Kependudukan dan Pencatatan Sipil Kota Samarinda. Penelitian ini tergolong pada jenis penelitian deskriptif dengan menggunak an pendekatan kualitatif. Informan pada penelitian ini sebanyak 7 orang sebagai informan. Data-data penelitian diperoleh dari berbagai sumber data yaitu data primer dan data sekunder. Pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui observasi, wawancara dan dokumentasi. Teknik analisis data yang digunakan yaitu reduksi data, sajian data, Penarikan Kesimpulan dan verifikasi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa implementasi kebijakan kartu identitas anak (KIA) di Dinas Kependudukan dan Pencatatan Sipil Kota Samarinda cukup baik. Hal ini dapat dilihat dari sosialisasi dan pencetakan kartu identitas anak yang dilakukan langsung di sekolah-sekolah dasar dengan pegawai yang kompeten yang berpegang pada SOP yang telah ditetapkan dalam Peraturan Daerah Kota Samarinda.

Abstract

Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui kualitas pelayanan publik pada Kantor Kelurahan Karang Ambun Kabupaten Berau. Dalam memperoleh data informan yang terkait terdiri dari 6 orang yaitu, Lurah, Kepala Seksi Pelayanan Umum, Kepala Seksi Pelayanan Umum dan Kesejahteraan Sosial, Masyarakat (3 orang). Analisis data yang digunakan pada penelitian ini bersifat kualitatif deskriptif. Metode yang digunakan adalah metode wawancara, observasi, dan dokumentasi. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian yang dilakukan, didapatkan bahwa Kelurahan Karang sudah menerapkan beberapa indikator yang terdiri dari kesederhanaan, kejelasan, keamanan, keterbukaan, dan ketepatan waktu. Berdasarkan indikator tersebut didapatkan bahwa Kelurahan Karang Ambun sudah mampu menerapkan beberapa indikator tersebut seperti kesederhanaan, keamanan, dan ketepatan waktu. Hal ini dibuktikan masyarakat tidak mengelukan 3 indikator tersebut. Namun masih ada masyarakat yang mengeluhkan indikator kejelasan dan keterbukaan Kelurahan Karang Ambun dikarenakannya tidak adanya penjelasan secara lisan mengenai syarat, prosedur, dan biaya pelayanan. Walaupun sudah tersedia papan informasi yang memuat hal tersebut namun penempatannya cukup sulit dibaca oleh masyarakat.

Abstract

Reformasi Birokrasi terjadi karena perubahan dan modernisasi birokrasi yang tidak berjalan sebagaimana mestinya sesuai dengan tuntutan keadaan, karenanya diperlukan usaha yang sadar dan terencana untuk mengubah struktur dan prosedur birokrasi (aspek reorganisasi kelembagaan, sikap dan perilaku birokrat/aspek prilaku atau kinerja), meningkatkan efektivitas organisasi (aspek program), sehingga dapat diciptakan birokrasi yang sehat dan terciptanya tujuan pembangunan nasional. Birokrasi adalah lembaga yang memiliki kemampuan besar dalam menggerakan organisasi. Karena birokrasi ditata secara formal untuk melakukan tindakan rasional dalam sebuah organisasi. Birokrasi sebagai tatanan sebuah organisasi yang di dalamnya memiliki struktur, pembagian tugas, serta hirarki. Dimana birokrasi tersebut dijalankan oleh orang banyak dengan aturan-aturan yang jelas, prosedur yang tetap, serta dipimpin seseorang dengan kewenangan yang melekat dalam memberikan perintah untuk dijalankan bawahannya semata bagi kepentingan masyarakat Di era reformasi ini, birokrasi di Indonesia tidak banyak mengalami perubahan, baik di pemerintahan pusat maupun pemerintahan daerah. Perilaku birokrasi pada masa reformasi mirip dengan masa Orde Baru. Meskipun pemerintah pusat banyak mengeluarkan kebijakan mengenai reformasi birokrasi, namun perilaku birokrasi tidak banyak berubah. Birokrasi di Indonesia masih bersifat patrimonialisme. Untuk melakukan reformasi birokrasi, baik pemerintah pusat maupun pemerintah daerah, perlu mewujudkan tata kelola pemerintahan yang baik.
