Abstract

ABSTRACT   Endemic goitre is one of problems of nutrition in the Banyumas, especially the regions of mountains such as Districts, and tune the Baturaden, Pekuncen, Sumbang. Survey results conducted in 1980 found as much as 27% incidence of mumps has declined sharply, and when implemented in the 1996 survey and there is only as much as 3.5%, increased as much as 11,4 % survey in 2007. One of the efforts made to reduce the prevalence of goiter was popularized by beriodium salt. The purpose of this research is to know the content of iodium in salt in circulation in 2003 and 2012. Sample research is outstanding in the market salt in Banyumas randomly selected. Data collection was carried out in 2003 and 2012. To know the content of iodine in salt iodine test is done through and continued with the test titration. In general the content of iodium in salt dropped from 75.4% (2003 survey) into 48,7% (survey in 2012), most of the salt had circulated iodium trademarks (98.4% survey 2003) and 89,4% by 2012, survey), most (89.2%) of salt shaped smooth iodium circulating (as of 2003 survey) decreased to 56.3% (survey in 2012) and the majority (74.2%) both have outstanding salt trademarks (2003 survey) to decline increased to 83.1% (survey in 2012). The need for improved monitoring and surveillance by employing service related to salt beriodium circulating on the market to maintain quality/quality of salt (30 - 80 ppm), the need for strict sanctions by the rules that apply to producers of salt/seller of iodium salt  are not eligible (& lt; 30 ppm) by Department/Agency that has the authority, the Test simply through a solution of yodina test needs to be further enhanced and promoted Keywords: iodine content,  salt, titration test. Advice for pregnant women should alter the pattern of consumption of tea or coffee drinks that can inhibit the absorption of iron by replacing materials consumed a drink containing vitamin C so it can accelerate the process of iron absorption. Abstract

A mother has a mayor role in child growth, especially for their nutritional status. The objective of this research was to identify the incidence of undernutrition by identifying factors that cause undernutrition such as child factor, family factor, maternal factor and environmental factor using quantitive approach, identifying how far the interaction of community with the publich health, identifying the effectiveness programs to prevent undernutrition The factors analyzed using multiple regression logistic. Interactive model1) used to analyzed the extent of publich health for the undernutrition preventing programs. The sample of this study were the children with undernourished from January-July 2012, there were 50 subject. As a control, researcher use 50 children with wellnourished status who lives near the subject with undernourished status. Analysis of quantitative data obtained from the results of the causes of malnutrition in gender, maternal employment, and environmental sanitation. The most dominant factor is maternal employment. Qualitative analysis concluded institutional issues include the provision of supplementary feeding has been unable to overcome the problem of malnutrition, a history of maternal nutrition and low birth weight, low maternal education and knowledge, lack of exclusive breastfeeding, complementary feeding premature delivery, low maternal participation in posyandu and low income families. Early detection of malnutrition can be done by empowering housewives with increased knowledge of breastfeeding / complementary feeding and nutrition during pregnancy, maintenance of environmental sanitation, as well as increased participation of mothers in the Posyandu.

Samples were taken by purposive sampling been 82 first-grade students at both the elementary school. Data analysis included univariate analysis with frequency distribution and bivariate analysis by T-test to determine differences in the nutritional status of children in urban and rural areas. The results show a higher wasted in rural areas (13.1%) than urban areas (2.3%), while the  overweight  higher in urban areas (27.3%) than rural (2.5%), there is a difference nutritional status according to IMT/U index in urban and rural elementary school students (p = 0.00 <0.05). Stunted in urban areas (4.5%) is not much different than children in rural areas (7.9%), bivariate analysis showed no differences nutritional status according to TB/U index in urban and rural  (p = 0.355> 0.05). Suggested  to carry out routine monitoring of nutritional status, especially in the new elementary school students as improve nutrition status of children.

Abstract

Iodine Deficiency Disorder (IDD) is one of nutrient problems in Banyumas Regency. IDD is caused of the lack of iodine substance continually in long period. the other causal factors are the consuming goitrogenic substance, knowledge, genetic and consuming hormonal contraception (KB). Baturraden district is one of districts in Banyumas Regency in which it has got an increase prevalence aneurysm. Based on a survey held in 2007, aneurysm prevalence was 35.38% and it was included as a high endemic. The objective of this research is to analyze somerisky factors influencing IDD in Baturraden distric. The research is an explanatory study applying control case. The case samples are the 15 – 45 year-old productive women suffering from the IDD living in Kebumen, Karang Tengah, Kemutug Kidul and Karang Salam villages. The numbersof samples are 30. The Analysis applied are the univariate, bivariate, and multivariate analysis. The result of the research shows that there are two risky factors influencing IDD namely consuming Iodine (p value=0.007) and consuming goitrogenic (p value=0.015). The most dominant factor influencing IDD is the consuming Iodine. Because of that the directive counseling should be increased to disseminate about the need of the increase on consuming iodine and decrease of consuming goitrogenic substance. This dissemination could be inserted on Posyanduand PKK activities.

Abstract

Stunting in an infant aged under two years old will affect the health and well-being of the children in the future. Banyumas Regency has 10 stunting locus villages with various nutritional problems that could lead to the incidence of stunting. Diet, nutritional status, and mother’s history during pregnancy will affect stunting in infants aged under two. This study aims to determine the relationship between the incidence of stunting in under-two infants related to parenting styles and mother’s history during pregnancy in stunting locus villages in Banyumas Regency. This study used a case-control design using a total sampling technique with 181 respondents. This type of data was collected through interviews using a questionnaire to mothers of the infants aged under two. While the measurement of body height and weight of under-five children was derived from the latest weighing data conducted by research enumerators using infatometers and digital baby scales. There was no relationship between maternal age (p = 0.21), birth spacing (p = 0.63), nutritional status (p = 0.40) with the incidence of stunting, and there was a significant relationship between maternal parenting styles and the incidence of stunting (p = 0.04).
