Abstract

Radio Suara Surabaya (SS FM) is a private broadcasting institution capable of carrying out its role as a public radio. The uniqueness of its role begins with the switch of the SS FM function which originally dominated the content with entertainment into information content. This change in the dominance of content results in a two-way broadcast format, where there is interactivity in it. This study aims to find out about the interactivity that exists between SS FM and its listeners, including the media used, the forms of interactivity, and the factors of interactivity. Computer-Mediated Communication is one of the media theories used as a knife for analysis. Through qualitative research methods, it was found that in interactivity with the listeners, SS FM has standard rules that must be adhered to together. While the elements contained in it are participation, control and activity. In addition, the interactivity media used are telephone, online media and social media. Then the form of interactivity that occurs is interactivity of content and personal interactivity. While three factors cause listeners to interact actively with SS FM, namely the need for information, the need for self-actualization, and the need for self-existence.

Abstract

Radio broadcasting industry developed rapidly after the reform due to the independent press. This is evidenced by the increasing number of radio stations that have been in operation and has an official permit, as well as the station requested permission to broadcast or radio stations that do not have official permission. Unfortunately, an increasing number of radio stations in quantity is not followed by an increase in quality, both in terms of broadcast content as well as the behavior of the perpetrators of these media broadcasting. Many ethical violations that negatively affect the public. This paper intends to assert the importance of regulation for radio broadcasters, both legislation and self-regulation in the form of regulations set by the Indonesian Broadcasting Commission (Komisi Penyiaran Indonesia). More deeply about the importance of understanding and applying ethics in radio broadcasting activities. Radio broadcasting not only has a function as a medium of information, education, wholesome entertainment, control and social cohesion, but also has the function of economy and culture. However, it does not mean eliminating one of the functions or the domination of one function only. Dilemma competition in the radio broadcasting industry is not expected to make the radio industry only producing broadcast content that interests only, but should also contain ethical values. Thus, the establishment of radio broadcasting that 'healthy' is not just a mere dream. Key words: Radio broadcasting, media regulations, self-regulation, ethics, broadcasting with ethics.

Abstract

The question of ethics in the business activities of multi level marketing (MLM) becameone of the things seized enough attention. This is due to the applied practices affecting theprinciple of ethical or unethical.This research seeks to reveal multi ethical problems that appear in the content of themessage communication Facebook account WW by using qualitative researchmethodology. The content of messages is analyzed with a qualitative content analysismethods, while the case studies were chosen because researchers focus on one Facebookaccount, that belongs to the WW is MLM businesses PT HWI. Although the assessment ofethical and unethical it cannot be measured independently valid, but researchers trying toexpose some important aspects in the economic aspect, namely, business, legal, and moral.Then analyzed using the concepts of ethical utilitarianism. Abstract

Social communication in the police institution is important to develop community-oriented policing (COP). This social communication can be a communication bridge between the police and the community for the purpose of integration or social adaptation. For this purpose, community service is carried out at the Pusdik Binmas Lemdiklat Polri in the form of making instructional videos for Binmas functions in the community. Instructional videos are expected to provide an overview about the synergy between the police and the community. The method used in this service is carried out through pre-production, production and post-production activities. As a result of community service there are eight instructional videos for use at the Pusdik Binmas Lemdiklat Polri.

Abstract

‘Mediamorphosis’ is a transformation of communication media caused by complex interactions between perceived needs, competitive and political pressures, and social and technological innovation. The digital revolution that gave birth to media digitalisation is one of the causes of mediamorphosis. Another thing that drives mediamorphosis is the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic that hit Indonesia and other countries in the world. Mediamorphosis is a concept used in this study because it refers to the form of radio broadcasts that have changed and adapted due to the novel COVID-19 virus throughout the world and in Indonesia. The main social regulations by the Indonesian Government have implications for radio broadcasting operations. This study aims to see how local private radio– Radio Elisa FM carries out mediamorphosis which is analysed more specifically using the concept of convergence. The research paradigm used is constructivism with a qualitative approach and case study method. The results of the study show that the mediamorphosis carried out by Radio Elisa produces a new face for Radio Elisa broadcasts as a visual radio in the new normal era.

Abstract

Salatiga sebagai salah satu kota di Jawa Tengah memiliki penduduk lanjut usia yang semakin meningkat. Dari tahun 2015 hingga tahun 2017, jumlah lansia terus mengalami peningkatan. Dengan demikian, perhatian terhadap kehidupan lansia menjadi penting, agar lansia tidak menjadi beban bagi keluarga, masyarakat, dan Negara. Salah satu cara untuk memberdayakan lansia adalah dengan menemani lansia melalui siaran radio. Radio menjadi teman setia para lansia agar lansia tetap semangat dan agar lansia memperoleh teman ketika merasa kesepian. Program siaran radio interaktif Insan Lansia Ceria menjadi sarana bagi lansia untuk mengenali dirinya. Teori yang digunakan dalam pengabdian ini adalah teori Konsep Diri. Hasil pengabdian ini yakni lansia memiliki konsep diri positif meskipun kondisi fisik mereka menurun. Mereka tetap menjadi lansia yang produktif di usianya dengan bersosialisasi dengan lingkungan sekitar.Â
