Abstract

Abstract: Instagram marks the importance of participatory culture in the era of new media. This paper aims to examine the complex notion of privacy in regards to children’s privacy that were made famous (by their parents) through Instagram with the selebgram phenomenon. By examining the data gathered using #selebgram and underlining the self-presentation perspective in the study of the psychological communication, the results show that parents have their own motives and goal when uploading their child’s fotos on Instagram. Consequently, the childs have to lose their privacy in cyberspace and of course, the information is vulnerable to crime.Keywords: children’s privacy, Instagram, selebgram, self-presentationAbstrak: Instagram menandai gagasan pentingnya budaya partisipatif dalam era media baru. Tujuan dari paper ini adalah untuk menganalisa konsep Instagram sebagai forum dan sarana komunikasi dengan melihat fenomena selebgram. Paper ini meneliti gagasan kompleks privasi dalam hal privasi anak-anak yang dibuat terkenal (oleh orang tua mereka) melalui Instagram dengan memeriksa data yang dikumpulkan menggunakan #selebgram dan menggarisbawahi perspektif presentasi diri dalam kajian psikologi komunikasi. Hasil analisa menunjukkan bahwa ada motif dan tujuan orang tua memuat foto anaknya di akun Instagram. Sedangkan dampaknya, anak tidak mempunyai privasi di dunia maya dan tentunya informasi tersebut akan rentan disalahgunakan untuk kejahatan.Kata Kunci: Instagram, presentasi diri, privasi anak, selebgram

Abstract

The presence of social media is not only used by someone to communicate with other people but also to present oneself with certain goals. The appearance of celebgram and vloggers has shown that social media is a place to show oneself in front of others. This study aims to describe the impression management vlogger in the "Kumit Project" account on social media by using a dramaturgy approach. The observation units in this study were the Kumit Project?s accounts on Instagram and Youtube. This qualitative descriptive study used the Erving Goffman dramaturgical analysis approach. The results showed that when on the front stage, Kumit Project, through its actors Madkucil and Cimit, performed impression management to create an impression on their audience. While on the back stage, Kumit Project was a team with the actors Madkucil and Cimit, whom the relationship as lovers was portrayed as the front stage. The drama that they played on the front stage is a real picture like the one on the back with additional background settings to add to the dramatization.

Abstract

Kehadiran media baru, terutama media sosial telah membuat komunikasi antar manusia semakinmudah. Tidak ada penghalang antar manusia untuk saling berkomunikasi. Bahkan dengan mediasosial orang dapat membuat grup komunikasi untuk lebih memfasilitasi pertukaran informasi.Facebook, yang merupakan salah satu bagian dari media sosial dapat digunakan untuk membuatgrup atau kelompok komunikasi. Keberadaan kelompok etnis di UKSW Salatigamemungkinkan untuk membuat sebuah grup. Untuk memudahkan anggotanya berkomunikasisatu sama lain, maka kelompok membuat grup di media sosial, salah satunya adalah kelompokdi facebook. HIMMPAR sebuah kelompok etnis yang anggotanya adalah mahasiswa dariPapua. Penelitian ini untuk mengeksplorasi peran Grup Facebook HIMPPAR (HimpunanMahasiswa dan Pelajar Papua Barat) sebagai media baru komunikasi yang bermanfaat bagimahasiswa Papua di Salatiga. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan jenispenelitian deskriptif. Unit analisis penelitian ini adalah peran kelompok facebook HIMPPARUKSW, dan unit amatannya adalah Grup HIMPPAR. Hasil penelitian ini menjelaskan bahwakelompok HIMPPAR memiliki peran yang sangat penting bagi mahasiswa Papua. Peran grupHIMMPAR yaitu: (1) Memberikan motivasi belajar, (2) Sebagai pengikat etnis, (3) PenyebaranJournal Communication Volume 7, Nomor 1 April 2016 64nilai-nilai, informasi dan dialog, (4) Menyediakan ruang untuk mengakomodasi keperluanteknis untuk masing-masing anggota.

Abstract

The easiness of internet access facilities and the more sophisticated the facilities offered by the internet in the era of Information and Communication Technology today was accompanied by the emergence of phenomena that shows high interests in youth to use the Internet. of this phenomenon, the researchers wanted to see how the patterns of Internet usage by teenagers in Semarang District.  This research uses quantitative methods to conduct surveys using questionnaires distributed to respondents in various regions of the Semarang District. The number of samples representing the respondent populations studied were 464 respondents.  From this research it is known that more teenagers choose the Internet to search for information, in addition to the media most frequently used to access the internet is mobile. information most often sought by teenagers on the internet are looking for information about hobbies and entertainment. Keywords : teenagers, internet, information

Abstract

The title in this study is public perceptions of the Axe fallen angels advertisement in Indonesian version and the factors that influenced it. Axe is a perfume product that already has a name in the market, and its advertisement, it self a problem where the Ads of Axe angels version in Africa was banned because it is considered offensive of the Christianity in there. The ads of Axe also have Indonesian version, and according to a source who obtained the ads only appeared on the internet. Because of that the researcher are prompted to find out how public perceptions in Indonesia about that Ads as well as what factors are influencing the audience. The method used in this research is to interview the speakers who has religious backgrounds, Axe users and ordinary people or not the users of Axe products. After doing the research, researcher found that the interviewees tended to perceive the Ad as an ad that unfit for scenes contained and also most of the scenes are quite vulgar. So that the researcher found several factors that affected to their public perception are the Education, Culture, Religion, and sex.Keyword: Axe Advertising, Audience, Perception, Perception factor.

Abstract

The broadcasting world began to experience many changes along with the presence of new media until it led to media convergence. The phenomenon of convergence has brought many mass media to begin convergence to stay alive amid increasingly fierce media competition, one of which is Radio Suara Surabaya. This study aims to identify the target audience of Radio Suara Surabaya in social media that is Facebook, so that it can be known the suitability of the desired target audience, as well as to determine the extent of the contribution of social media that exists in meeting the information needs of the audience, especially young people. In this study, researchers used a qualitative research approach to the type of descriptive research. The results of this study explain that E100 is one of the media from Radio Suara Surabaya to target young people. The position of the E100 does not replace the presence of Radio Suara Surabaya but rather becomes a complementary medium for obtaining information. Through this E100, Radio Surabaya is trying to target generations

Abstract

Technological development on online communication was creating various communication on the internet, one of them is live streaming features on Youtube. Communication variation on the internet still has a problem, one of them is the existence of hate speech on the comment section in live streaming Youtube of Ligagame eSports TV Youtube Channel. Theory of Discourse from Ernesto Laclau and Chantal Mouffe become guidelines to analyze the discourse formed from caster so that appeared hate speech from audience comment, which that hate speech divided into some type of cyberbullying. To analyze that, the researcher does observation or directly observe when live streaming been held and interview part of Kominfo Salatiga as a data triangulation. The result of the research shows that delivery like anything brought by the caster in streaming would still bring up hate speech comment from the audience, and a caster can react with the reply the hate speech argument from the audience, offer a solution to stop hate speech from appearing, or just ignore that comment.Keywords: Hate Speech, Caster, Discourse, Youtube, Cyberbullying.

Abstract

Social communication in the police institution is important to develop community-oriented policing (COP). This social communication can be a communication bridge between the police and the community for the purpose of integration or social adaptation. For this purpose, community service is carried out at the Pusdik Binmas Lemdiklat Polri in the form of making instructional videos for Binmas functions in the community. Instructional videos are expected to provide an overview about the synergy between the police and the community. The method used in this service is carried out through pre-production, production and post-production activities. As a result of community service there are eight instructional videos for use at the Pusdik Binmas Lemdiklat Polri.

Abstract

Komunitas adat Bonokeling di desa Pekuncen memiliki mayoritas penduduk disana merupakan pengikut Islam Kejawen yang berada dalam kehidupan sehari-harinya berhubungan dengan ritual-ritual selametan maka warga Bonokeling di desa Pekuncen sangat menghormati tradisi yang diwariskan secara turun-temurun, sehingga peneliti ingin mempelajari makna dari simbol -simbol yang terkandung dalam ritual Unggah-Unggahan Pekuncen. Tujuan dari penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui arti yang terkandung dalam tanda yang tedapat pada ritual Unggah-Unggahan pada Masyarakat Bonokeling di Desa Pekuncen, Kecamatan Jatilawang, kabupaten Banyumas Jawa Tengah. Hasil penelitian ini bahwa ritual Unggah-Unggahan adalah bentuk ibadah dari pada masyarakat pengikut ajaran Kyai Bonokeling atau yang disebut sebagai anak putu.
