Abstract

The time needed to set up the production machine is 55 minutes. The high set-up time is caused by the non-differentiation of internal set-up and external set-up so that all set-up activities are carried out when the engine stops (internal set up). When viewed from the effectiveness of the company, the setup activities carried out at the time of the engine stop will significantly harm the company, which in turn will have an impact on the high bottleneck which results in delays in the production process in specific capacities. Research activities are carried out by direct measurement of die casting machines using a stopwatch. In this study, the authors conducted a study to apply the SMED method when setting up die casting machines at PT Mitsuba Indonesia. The SMED (Single Minute of Exchange Die) method as an approach is considered as one of the solutions used to reduce the setup time of the machine. From the results of the study, it was found that the set-up time was 35 minutes, or efficient by 64% on the set-up time before the repair.

Abstract

The problem that occurs in the production of sintered ore is the number of defective products. In this study it was conducted with the aim of knowing the factors that cause the product to become broken, understanding the processes that most often appear following the elements and providing proposed improvements to improve product quality and reduce them using the method of failure mode and effect analysis and seven tools. Based on the results of the highest Risk Priority Number (RPN) is the proportioning process with a score (252), Sintering with a score (168), Drum Mixing 2 with a score of 126, drum mixing 1 with a dozen (90), sintered cooling with a rating (45), and a sinter crusher with a score (18). The priority for repairs is the proportioning process.

Abstract

The quantity and quality of coal affects the efficiency of the generating unit, therefore the utilization of Transfer Conveyor 17A is very necessary to fulfill the fuel requirement (coal) of PT Indonesia Power Unit Generation Unit Suralaya. Transfer conveyor is an additional element in a conveyor belt circuit that serves to channel coal from unloading area until coal bunker (power plant). This study aims to find out the value of OEE Transfer Conveyor 17A which is used as the basis of proposed improvement based on the lowest value of the three parameters in OEE. The concept of research adopting OEE method with the value of quality is assumed 97,50% because the equipment that becomes the object of research does not produce the product. The result of calculation obtained by OEE value equal to 82,98% with ratio Availability 86,76% Performance Eficiency 98,09% and Rate of Quality 97,50%. A planned maintenance action is required to avoid unpredictable engine damage such as the operator checking the machine before it is operated, providing periodic training to operators and maintenance to improve their capabilities.

Abstract

This research aims to discover the higest impact of product failures and determine the proper of solution. Design FMEA is a method to anticipate failure during the design stage by identifying all of the possible failures in a design or manufacturing process. This studi conducted in a micro, small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs). KIM is a small company that produce handycraft product made from bamboo plants, one of the featured product is lamp casing. Any of customers complain encourage the company to make new product design and look for the cause of the problem and risk. The results of this  research  are obtained 5 components of lamp casing with the highest level of risk. An Improvement was carried out entirely by using a repair priority scale according to the sequence of failure modes with the highest risk of damage.

Abstract

The project construction of 2nd floors of GITET Cilegon Building at PT. PLN Persero run is not optimal. Delay is one of the waste occurs in the construction. This research aims to optimize the project construction with a lean thinking approach. Lean Project Management is a method used to obtain an optimal project schedule. Delay factors among others delay in material arrival, bad weather, and broken equipment. The highest risk potential was Acts of God and Natural Hazard such as rain, flood, or natural disasters. The recommendations for improvements to this problem are the switch of work that is material constrained, switch of work if any bad weather occurs. The results of the study obtained a time efficiency value of 33 days so that the work execution time could be accelerated to 156 days from the previous 189 days. The time efficiency contributes to project costs with an efficiency value of IDR 374.400.000.

Abstract

PT. Media Purna Engineering area PT. Krakatau Steel (Persero) Tbk atas pelayanan jasa perawatan mekanik rotating, sistem hidrolik, kontruksi, dan piping. Adapun metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah metode service quality (servqual) untuk mengukur tingkat kepuasan dan kualitas pelayanan yang diberikan. Pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan menyebarkan kuesioner kepada karyawan PT. Krakatau Steel (Persero) Tbk dan dengan melakukan observasi secara mendalam tentang pelayanan jasa yang diberikan oleh PT. Media Purna Engineering kepada PT. Krakatau Steel (Persero) Tbk. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa kualitas pelayanan jasa PT. Media Purna Engineering tergolong baik, namun masih ada 3 atribut kualitas pelayanan yang masih perlu ditingkatkan atau dikembangkan kembali dari 25 atribut kualitas pelayanan diantaranya adalah kelengkapan dan kesiapan perlengkapan kerja, kecepatan dalam memberikan solusi, pekerja mempunyai pengetahuan dan keterampilan yang diperlukan pekerjaan. Kualitas yang dirasakan oleh mitra memberikan dampak pada kelangsungan bisnis yang berkelanjutan. Saran yang diberikan dalam penelitian ini adalah PT. Media Purna Engineering diharapkan dapat meningkatkan kualitas sumber daya manusia yang ada dengan tujuan meningkatkan kualitas pelayanan yang diberikan baik dari kelengkapan dan kesiapan peralatan kerja, daya tanggap pekerja, kepedulian akan keluhan-keluahan, kecepatan dalam bertindak memberikan solusi, ketepatan waktu penyelesaian pekerjaan, kesesuaian hari dan jam kerja, serta kualitas pelayanan lainnya yang dianggap perlu ditingkatkan guna kepuasan mitra perusahaan untuk kelangsungan bisnis yang berkelanjutan.Kata Kunci : Kualitas Pelayanan, Service Quality (Servqual), Atribut Kualitas Pelayanan.

Abstract

The cold-rolled coil is a raw material for manufacturing industries such as automotive, household appliances, property, and other industries that use steel plates. The production process during January - June 2020 was not good enough, so that the production process had a defect. The types of defects include stoppage marks, bad trimmer, and over the pickle. This study aims to measure Cpk, and sigma quality levels' process capability and analyze the root causes of low product quality. This study uses the Six Sigma method with the phase Define, Measure, Analyze and Improve. The results showed that Cpk = 1.27, and the sigma value of 3.86. Types of defects that occur are a 72,9% stoppage mark, 17,8% bad trimmer, and 9.3% over the pickle. Recommendations for improvements can be made by conducting training for employees, supervising production employees, periodic maintenance of machines/equipment, and controlling production processes. Six Sigma implementation can identify and improve the quality problems that occur.

Abstract

Kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat merupakan kegiatan lanjutan dari kegiatan sebelumnya yang diberi judul Inovasi Kerajinan Produk Bambu di Kelurahan Pabuaran. Kegiatan kedua difokuskan pada upaya penyusunan strategi pemasaran produk kerajinan dengan pendekatan kebutuhan konsumen. Program kegiatan ini dipilih berdasarkan permasalahan mitra yang masih sulit dalam mengembangkan pemasaran produk yang berhubungan dengan kerajinan casing lampu. Penyusunan strategi pemasaran menggunakan konsep SWOT analisis. Berdasarkan analisis yang telah dilakukan teridentifikasi beberapa faktor yang mempengaruhi tingkat pen­jualan produk dan strategi yang diusulkan untuk meningkatkan penjualan. Beberapa kegiatan yang dapat dilakukan untuk meningkatkan pemasaran produk mitra antara lain melakukan riset pasar, menentukan fungsi, desain dan kualitas produk, menentukan varian produk, menentukan brand name, menentukan harga pokok produksi, promosi online dan offline dan membuat model pengemasan

Abstract

Sinter ore merupakan produk setengah jadi dalam pembuatan baja. Produk ini dihasilkan dari perpaduan (mixing) raw material dibagian sinter plant untuk mendapatkan karakteristik produk baja yang berkualitas. Berdasarkan hasil identifikasi masalah di bagian Sinter Plant, ditemukan bahwa proses produksi produk sinter ore masih belum efisien. Hal ini dibuktikan dari komposisi material hasil mixing design produk cenderung melebihi target properties proses mixing design yang diinginkan oleh perusahaan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mencari nilai efisiensi biaya produksi produk sinter ore dan dapat mencapai target properties produk sinter ore yang ditetapkan oleh perusahaan. Penelitian dilakukan dengan menggunakan data karakteristik produk yang menjadi target properties dalam mixing design produk sinter ore tahun 2019. Perhitungan mixing design dengan menggunakan metode simpleks. Pengolahan data dengan menggunakan metode simpleks dilakukan dengan cara eliminasi secara iteratif sebanyak 5 kali perhitungan sampai diperoleh solusi optimal. Penerapan metode simpleks dalam pengolahan mixing design produk sinter ore menghasilkan nilai efisiensi yang cukup signifikan bagi perusahaan. Nilai efisiensi yang dapat dicapai sebesar 1.050.210 USD berdasarkan penurunan biaya mixing design dari semula sebesar 20.445.600 USD menjadi sebesar 19.395.390 USD. Pencapaian target properties komposisi material hampir mendekati target yaitu fines ore A sebesar 0,8997, fines ore B sebesar 0, fines ore C sebesar 0,0027, concentrate sebesar 0,0201, dan sub material sebesar 0,1627. Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa penerapan metode simpleks dapat menghasilkan solusi optimal bagi perusahaan, baik menyangkut pencapaian keuntungan maupun efisiensi biaya.
