Abstract

A Research about analysis of manganese (Mn) levels in alkaline water using an atomic absorption spectrophotometer (SSA) was carried out from 16-18 August 2017 in the laboratory of energy and mineral resources services. The purpose of this research are 1) to find out whether there is a manganese substance (Mn) in alkaline water, 2) to determine how much manganese (Mn) levels in alkaline water. Quantitative research methods with experimental types where the entire population taken in this research alkaline water traded in Makassar City. Samples in this study were 3 types of alkaline water with different brands, samples were taken using random sampling techniques. Each sample was measured 50 mL after adding 5 mL of concentrated HNO3. The results showed that the levels of manganese (Mn) from 3 different types of alkaline water brands for sample A were 0.030 mg / L, sample B was 0.060 mg / L, and sample C was 0.050 mg / L.

Abstract

Anemia is a symptom of underlying conditions, such as loss of blood components, lack of nutrients needed for blood cell formation resulting in decreased oxygen-carrying capacity of blood. This study aims to find out the results of examination rate of blood vapor in anemic patients at General Hospital Tourism University of Eastern Indonesia Makassar. Type of This Research Is Laboratory Observation, The sample in this study is anemia patients as many as 5 Samples.From the result of research which have been done at General Hospital of Universitas Indonesia Timur Makassar on 5 samples, the result is 40% -60% mm / h, 40% is normal limit while 60% is increased. Based on the above research results, it is suggested for the community, especially parents can pay more attention and maintain the intake of nutrition and healthy lifestyle.

Abstract

This research has the background of glue inhaler, inhaled glue is aibon glue or Fox glue which contains Lysergic Acid Diethyilamide (LSD) which is inserted into the human body inhaled through the nose that can change a person's mind, mood, or feeling, and behavior. Continuous use will result in physical and / or psychological dependence. The risk that is certain to occur is damage to the nervous system and other important organs such as the liver, lungs and heart. This study aims to describe the results of the examination of SGOT and SGPT levels in glue inhalers and the benefits of this research are as information material for the public about the importance of knowing adverse effects of glue inhalers. This type of research is descriptive laboratory observation by examining SGOT and SGPT levels on glue inhalers using a photometer. From the results of the examination on 10 glue inhaler samples at Jalan Abdul Kadir, Makassar City, there was no increase in SGOT and SGPT levels with the sample code A = (GOT: 7.19 U / l) (GPT: 34.27 U / l), Sample B = (GOT: 18.74 U / l) (GPT: 27.73 U / l), Sample C = (GOT: 23.42 U / l) (GPT: 39.57 U / l), Sample D = ( GOT: 22.22 U / l) (GPT: 27.00 U / l), Sample E = (GOT: 32.10 U / l) (GPT: 33.36 U / l), Sample F = (GOT: 27.51 U / l) (GPT: 37.89 U / l), Sample G = (GOT: 29.78 U / l) (GPT: 40.00 U / l), Sample H = (GOT: 35, 00 U / l) (GPT: 40.54 U / l), Sample I = (GOT: 31.17 U / l) (GPT: 39.71 U / l) and Sample J = (GOT: 36.81 U / l) (GPT: 36.82 U / l).

Abstract

This study aims to determine the levels of electrolytes chloride (CI) in patients with hypertension. This type of research is observational laboratory with descriptive approach is to determine the examination results electrolyte levels of chloride (CI) in hypertensive patients with a master's touch screen using a photometer Cyanat Thio method. Thio Cyanat method is a method of examination where the intensity of color formed in accordance with chloride concentrations determined photometer so that the results can be relied upon. Rated normal chloride levels in units of mEq/L for adults is 95-105 mEq / L while normal values chioride levels in units of mmol /L is 97-111 mmol/ L. Based on research conducted at the Laboratory D-IlI Health Analyst University of Indonesia Eastern Tterhadap 5 sample of hypertensive adults, the results obtained by the A 108 mmol/ L, B. 94 mmol /L, C: 87 mmol / L, D: 86 mmol /L, E: 93 mmol /L, the percentage of chloride electrolyte levels (CF) which is normal as much as 1 sample (20%), and electrolyte levels of chloride (CI) below normal by 4 samples (80%)

Abstract

Soil Transmitted Helminths are intestinal nematodes which in their life cycle require soil for the ripening process. Worm problems associated with this worm infection are still commonly found. The rate of contamination of Soil Transmitted Helminths in vegetables is also still quite high. The process of processing and washing raw vegetables is not ready to eat, making it easier to transmit worm eggs to humans. Cucumber is one suitable substrate because it is often used as fresh vegetables. The purpose of this study is to determine the presence or absence of Soil Transmitted Helminths eggs in cucumber vegetables at food stalls in Jalan Abdul Kadir, Makassar City and the benefits of this research as information for the public about eggs Soil Transmitted Helminths that have an impact on the health problems of the human body. The type of research conducted is descriptive laboratory observation, which is to carry out laboratory tests to identify the Soil Transmitted Helminths eggs in cucumber vegetables at a food stall in Jalan Abdul Kadir, Makassar City. From the analysis of 10 samples of Cucumber vegetables, it shows that in the sample code (A), (B), (C), (D), (E), (F), (G), (H), (I), and (J), negative. So it can be concluded that there is no contamination of Soil Transmitted Helminths eggs in 10 samples of cucumber vegetables that have been studied. Suggestions to the public to remain careful in choosing or processing cucumbers which will be used as vegetables.

Abstract

Tapes are favorite doing foods society, middle class and middle class people, these foods contain compounds formed due to alcohol because alcohol yeast fermentation. fermentation is the process of energy production in cells under anaerobic conditions (without oxygen). Purpose of this study are: (1). To determine the alcohol content in potatoes that have fermentation tape for 3 days and 6 days. (2). To determine differences in levels alcohol on tape potato that has been fermented for 3 days and 6 days. Based on observations concluded that. (1). to distinguish a tape that fermented for 3 days and 6 days to see the texture visible on the tape is not the same between the tape that fermented for 3 days and 6 days since the longer the fermentation the increasingly soft texture on the tape would not even shaped potato again later taste the tape will be beruba acidity. (2). alcohol content in fermented cassava tape for 3 days and 6 days have different alcohol levels are highest in the tape that fermented for 3 days is 1.87% and the tape that fermented for 6 days is 2.87% while the lowest alcohol content on tape fermented for 3 days is 1.34% and the tape that fermented for 6 days is 2.11%.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the presence or absence of waxes found in apples sold in Pabaeng-baeng market, Makassar City. Wax substances are additional ingredients that are used to coat the fruit so as not to quickly experience decay or damage. The type of this research is descriptive laboratory observations, namely to identify waxes in apples. This research was conducted on the 3rd of August 2018 at the DIII Laboratory of Health Analyst at the University of East Indonesia, Makassar City. The population in this study were all types of apples sold in the Pabaeng-baeng market in Makassar City with samples of 3 types of apples, each of which were green, red and reddish yellow. The variables in this study are apples and waxes. From the results of this study, it is known that there are waxes in 3 types of apples that are traded in the Pabaeng-baeng market in Makassar City

Abstract

Albumin is the highest plasma protein in the amount of around 60% and has various functions that are very important for health, namely the formation of new cell tissue, accelerating the recovery of damaged body tissue and maintaining fluid balance in blood vessels with fluid in the interstitial cavity within the limits normal. At an advanced age, albumin levels do not increase if there is an increase in the patient's history, and also heredity. This type of research is a descriptive laboratory observation, which is to determine the description of blood albumin levels in the elderly. The purpose of this study was to determine the description of blood albumin levels in old age. Based on statistical analysis and the average value known to the results of examination of blood albumin levels in old age using a 5010 photometer an average value of 4.15 g / dl. This value indicates that the average patient over 60 years has normal albumin levels. It can be concluded that blood albumin levels in the elderly as many as 20 samples obtained results in 100% normal albumin levels. The suggestions from this study provide knowledge to the public about albumin examination, and further research is carried out with a larger sample quantity to get a more accurate examination of albumin levels.

Abstract

This research is motivated by the desire of researchers to know the description of the hematocrit value in tuberculosis. The purpose of this study was to determine and determine the description of the hematocrit value of the macrohematocrit method using 10 samples of venous blood in tuberculosis. This study uses the macrohematocrit method and is presented in a quantitative descriptive form. Based on the results of research conducted on 10 samples of tuberculosis, it can be concluded that the hematocrit value below normal consists of 6 people and normal 4 people. For further researchers to be able to conduct research using automatic tools that are more sophisticated and have a smaller error rate and fast and accurate inspection time.

Abstract

This research has a background of urinary tract infections in Indonesia, especially in South Sulawesi, so that the examination uses urine more often when, if the morning is used it will experience storage and allow changes in the composition of the urine and this can affect the results of the examination. In this study, the researcher wanted to find out whether there were differences in the results of leukocyte and erythrocyte examination using urine in the morning and during the strip-dip method in patients with urinary tract infections. The purpose of this study was to compare and determine the results of the examination of urinary leukocytes and erythrocytes using morning urine and the dipstick method in patients with urinary tract infections. This research is a laboratory research.The results of the study were analyzed using the statistical sign test which was carried out at the 95% confidence level. The rejection was 1.96 when compared to the value of z = 0.08 < tc = 1.96. In this case, there was no significant difference in the examination of leukocytes and erythrocytes in urine using morning urine. and from time to time the infection looks for a dye in patients with the urinary tract. Based on the results of the research above, it is recommended that morning urine can be used to examine urine leukocytes and erythrocytes at any time
