Abstract

Pesantren prioritizes spiritual improvement and good character for students based on the five souls (panca jiwa). When the soul or mind is stable, it can automatically reveal good character and qualities. The value of the five souls is a combination of various crystallizations of pesantren values, which must be integrated and taught in all santri (Islamic Students) activities. Five souls are enthusiastically assimilated in doing all activities to awaken other positive characters. The discussion aims to find out the form of internalization of character education based on the five souls at the Tahfizul Quran Boarding School in West Sumatra. This research approach is the descriptive-qualitative approach. The discussion results showed that the five young souls are honest, independent, brotherly, and free spirits to prepare the concluding virtuous, noble, and meaningful individuals in better directions in life. Values were instilled by the following methods: the exemplary method, the habitual method, giving advice, methods of motivation and threats, methods of persuasion, and the story method. Supporting factors for implementing character education have good management performance, the active role of the kiai as the pesantren leader and the ustaz with high discipline. The obstacles are students' lack of awareness and willingness to follow the pesantren education system, the difficulty of adjusting to pesantren activities, and not all students being able to comply.

Abstract

Penelitan ini dilatarbelakangi oleh permasalahan pengembangan karakter positif siswa di sekolah masih belum optimal, terutama pada karakter religius dan disiplin. Tujuan penelitian ini ialah untuk mendeskripsikan implementasi nilai-nilai Pancasila melalui pembelajaran PKn terhadap pembentukan karakter religius dan disiplin siswa kelas VIII di SMP Negeri 12 Sungai Penuh dan mendeskripsikan faktor pendukung dan penghambat implementasi nilai-nilai Pancasila melalui pembelajaran PKn terhadap pembentukan karakter religius dan disiplin siswa kelas VIII di SMP Negeri 12 Sungai Penuh. Jenis penelitian yang digunakan adalah penelitian kualitatif dengan metode diskriptif, informan penelitian ialah kepala sekolah, wakil kepala sekolah bagian kesiswaan, guru PKn, guru BK dan siswa. Teknik pengumpulan data yang digunakan, yaitu teknik observasi, wawancara, dan studi dokumentasi. Pengolahan data  dengan analisis data dengan langkah reduksi data, display data, dan penarikan kesimpulan/verifikasi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa Implementasi nilai-nilai Pancasila melalui pembelajaran PKn terhadap pembentukan karakter religius dan disiplin siswa sudah diterapkan dengan baik dimulai dari guru membelajarkan nilai-nilai pancasila dan memberikan keteladanan perilaku religius dan disiplin. Adapun faktor pendukung dalam implementasi nilai-nilai Pancasila melalui pembelajaran PKn terhadap pembentukan karakter religius dan disiplin siswa kelas VIII SMP Negeri 12 Sungai Penuh ialah didukung dengan lingkungan sekolah seperti adanya kerjasama dari berbagai pihak yaitu kepala sekolah, wakil kepala sekolah, guru-guru, staf pegawai dalam membimbing dan memberikan arahan kepada siswa, didukung juga oleh lingkungan keluarga dengan adanya kerjasama antara orang tua siswa untuk mendidik dan menerapkan kebiasaan yang baik dengan mengarahkan pada karakter religius dan disiplin, serta juga didukung melalui materi ajar pembelajaran PKn dengan selalu mengaitkan nilai-nilai Pancasila untuk membentuk karakter religius dan disiplin. Sedangkan faktor penghambat yaitu terdapat dalam diri siswa dimana adanya siswa yang sulit untuk dinasehati, diatur, dikontrol dan juga disebabkan lingkungan diluar sekolah seperti pergaulan yang kurang baik.
