Abstract

Research on the problems that exist in Padang 15 Public Middle School, student learning competencies are still low. The effort that can be done is to apply the cooperative learning model with the speaking stick type with literacy content of SMP 18 Padang. The purpose of this study was to study student learning through a cooperative model of speaking stick type with literacy at SMP 15 Padang. This type of research is experimental research with randomized posttest control group design. The population in this study were all students of class VIII SMP 15 Padang registered in 2018/2019. Sampling was done using the Simple purposive Sampling technique, which was chosen as the research sample was class VIII.3 as the experimental class and VIII.2 as the control class. The instrument used consisted of posttest questions for knowledge competencies, observation sheets for competencies and skills. The assessment hypothesis using the t-test, can prove the knowledge competency  tcount 2.27> ttable 1.67, competency assessment value 80% with good categories and competency skills value tcount 3.5> ttable 1.67). This is an accepted hypothesis. It was concluded that the cooperative model of speaking stick type with literacy opposed the competence of knowledge, attitudes, and skills of class VIII students of SMP 15 Padang.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to explore nursing students' perceptions of the use of the TPACK Framework within Task-based Language Teaching in an online class. The study employed a one-shot survey design. The participants of this study were 40 undergraduate nursing students at the nursing study program Poltekes Solok, West Sumatera. To avoid teacher-centered learning, this study implemented the TPACK Framework within Task-based Language Teaching, which has the potential to modify the way students learn. The questionnaire was delivered to the students using Google forms after the online learning activities were completed. The questionnaire was statistically analyzed using descriptive statistics such as frequency and percentage. The findings showed that most nursing students had positive perceptions of the use of the TPACK Framework within Task-based Language Teaching in online classes. Thus, incorporating the TPACK Framework into Task-based Language Teaching may become one of the potential methods of teaching English for nursing in an online class.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the improvement of student learning outcomes in integrated thematic learning using the Discovery Learning nodel in class V SDN 15 Ulu Gadut, Padang. This research is a classroom action research with qualitative and quantitative approaches conducted in two cycles. Each cycle consists of planning, implementing, observing and reflecting. The subjects were teachers and 23 fifth grade students of SD 15 Ulu Gadut Padang city. The results of this study indicate: (1) the percentage of RPP observations in the first cycle was 83.3%, increasing to 94.4% in the second cycle. (2) Teacher activity in the first cycle was 84.4%, increasing to 96.8% in the second cycle. (3) Student activity in cycle I was 84.4%, increasing to 96.8% in cycle II. While from student learning outcomes, in the first cycle the average value was 79.7 with a percentage of completeness 60.9% increasing to 91.3 with a percentage of completeness 95.6% in the second cycle.

Abstract

The background of this research is the management of facilities at Pincuran Tujuh tourist attraction in Sijunjung Regency. Pincuran Tujuh tourism Attraction is one of the artificial tourist attraction found in Sijunjung Regency. This Study aims to determine the management of facilities in Pincuran Tujuh Tourism Attraction, Sijunjung Regency. The research is included in the type of descriptive research with qualitative data. Data collection techniques were carried out through the use of interview, observasion, and documentation method and data analysis using data reduction, data persetation, and drawing conclusions. The research is viewed from three indicator namely, main facilities, and supporting facilities. The result is study describe the management of exiting facilities in Pincuran Tujuh Tourism Attraction, Sijunjung Regency based on management functions wicht include planning, organizing, actuating and controlling. Judging from the indicators of the main facilities, there already planning, organization, mobilizing and supervising but it has not been going well. Then is terms of indicators of supporting facilities threre is no planning, organization alredy exists but has not been realized, mobilization already exists, and supervision already exists. After that, in terms of supporting facilities, there is already planning, organization, mobilization and supervision

Abstract

Visual literacy plays an important role in building a person's cognitive processes. Visual Literacy helps students understand concepts and improve memory and recall information. Understanding and interpreting visual messages is not easy, because they can have different meanings depending on the background of the person who sees them. The aim of this literature is to stimulate interest in the use of visual devices in the biology learning process and to develop students' visual literacy abilities. students must use visual, exploratory, critical, and reflective thinking skills. One way to train these thinking skills is to utilize the cognitive processes of the visuals used. Designing visual representations requires knowledge and skills. This relates to how the use of visual representations can support the process of developing thinking skills when learning biology. abstrak. Literasi visual berperan penting dalam membangun proses kognitif seseorang. Literasi Visual mambantu siswa memahami konsep dan meningkatkan memori dan menngingat informasi. Memahami dan menafsirkan pesan visual tidaklah mudah, karena dapat memiliki arti yang berbeda-beda tergantung dari latar belakang orang yang melihatnya. Tujuan dari literatur ini adalah untuk merangsang minat penggunaan perangkat visual dalam  proses pembelajaran biologi dan untuk mengembnagkan kemampuan literasi visual siswa. siswa harus menggunakan keterampilan berpikir visual, eksplorasi, kritis, dan reflektif. Salah satu cara untuk melatih keterampilan berpikir tersebut adalah dengan memanfaatkan proses kognitif dari visual yang dimanfaatkan. Merancang representasi visual membutuhkan pengetahuan dan keterampilan. Hal ini berkaitan tentang bagaimana penggunaan representasi visual dapat mendukung proses pengembangan keterampilan berpikir ketika pembelajaran biologi.

Abstract

Character education has a role to shape the personality of individuals, especially the younger generation. Character is defined as behavioral values that include relationships with God, self, others, the environment, and nationality. Character education involves creating a school environment that supports the ethical and responsible development of students through modeling and teaching character. The importance of character education is recognized in the context of personality formation and positive contribution to the environment. The function of character education involves the formation and development of potential, prevention of norm-violating behavior, self-development, self-empowerment, and strengthening of identity. Teachers play a key role in the implementation of character education, with modeling, teaching and reinforcement as the main strategies. Strengthening character education is expected to produce individuals who are not only academically intelligent but also have strong moral values, creating a generation that is balanced in knowledge, attitudes, and skills in the era of industrial revolution 4.0 and social 5.0.
