Abstract

Learning from incidents is one of Occupational Safety and Health aspects which aimed to reduce accidents by learning from the previous incidents. One of industry type that requires the application of learning from incidents methods is container terminal. PT. X was a cargo handling company.It was recorded that 60 accidents occured on 2016 - 2017 and 5 of it caused fatality. The purpose of this research was to analyze the implementation of learning from incidents method in a Container Terminal. This research was a qualitative research. This research utilized purposive sampling technique. The investigator recruited three informants and nine triangulation informants. The instruments that used in this study were in-depth interview guides and document observation sheets. The results showed that PT. X has implemented the entire process of learning from incidents cycle. The company is in need to improve some aspects of applying the learning from incidents method from incident reporting, incident analysis, corrective action planning, implementation of corrective actions, follow-up corrective action and evaluation.

Abstract

Incidents are event that result in an accident or a near-miss event. The cause of the incidence can be found by incident investigation methods to prevent future incidents ought to be the same. Terminal LPG Semarang (TLS) is a company with high hazard potential. TLS uses SCAT to investigate the cause of incident. SCAT is a secondary method that identify the problem at the management and safety culture so operational and human error factors are not identified. Tripod is a primary method that identify the problem on organizational, operational, and human error factors. This descriptive research aims to describe the comparison of incident cause investigation results using SCAT and Tripod method. Data obtained using the technique of in depth interview and secondary data collection. The main informants in this study were 14 workers involved in the incident. The triangulation informant is a 4 person investigators who investigate the incidents. The result showed that there is equation of result in identification of immediate cause between SCAT method and Tripod method but there is difference of result in identification of barrier, precondition, underlying cause, and recommendation between SCAT method and Tripod method. From these results the company is expected to conduct in depth analysis of appropriate incident investigation methods for the company.

Abstract

The use of pesticides that are not completely on target creates residues and has a negative impact on health and the environment. The lack of guidance from stakeholders and the lack of knowledge about the dangers of pesticides cause farmers to ignore the risks of excessive use of pesticides. Preventive efforts are needed to reduce the impact of pesticide use, so that the policy brief could be  prepared as an effort to minimize the impact of pesticide use through more effective policy recommendations that is to be addressed to local governments and related agencies. This research used a qualitative approach. The sample in this study consisting of the community health centre officers, the Health Service and the Agriculture Service. Stakeholder perceptions in policy making were influenced by knowledge factors, family background factors and need factors. The policy brief was prepared based on the results of interviews and focus group discussions with informants relating to the impact of and the prevention of the use of pesticides excessive. The stages of preparing a policy brief start from determining the problem and audience, creating a policy framework, writing an executive summary and reviewing the results of the policy brief. Perception stakeholders for developing the use of pesticides to have not run optimally even though we already be a job and the program as a clear. The need for monitoring and evaluation counseling and flanking by stakeholders to farmers periodically 6 months.

Abstract

Background: In 2019, in December to be precise, an acute respiratory disease caused by the corona virus/ COVID-19 (corona virus deiase-19) was discovered. The transmission of COVID-19 to health workers is a very important issue in this pandemic era. In Indonesia, data from the COVID-19 report on July 15 2021, the number of deaths recorded by health workers was 1,292 due to COVID-19. The data found that the spread of COVID-19 has also infected employees at the Kendal Islamic Hospital. Total population of 512 employees, 20% exposed to COVID-19, namely 118 employees, with the highest distribution of cases occurring in medical personnel, namely 14%. Objective: Occupational health and safety is an effort and effort to create protection and security from the risk of accidents and hazards, both physical, mental and emotional for workers. Methods: This research is a qualitative research with a single case study design. Data collection using purposive sampling technique was carried out by observation and in-depth interviews. This research data collection was carried out by observing the management of the health and safety of hospital employees during the Pandemic: Case studies of COVID-19 among employees at Kendal Islamic Hospital. Secondary data is used to support and relate to research variables or research problems. Results: The management of COVID-19 at RSI Kendal has basically adapted to regulations set by the government starting from policies/regulations, provision of physical facilities, medical devices, medicines and BMHP as well as in the provision of PPE. However, there are still several obstacles in its implementation, so that many employees are still infected and exposed to COVID-19. This is influenced by many factors, including fatigue, decreased immunity, stress and there are still many officers and employees who are not disciplined with the health program. Conclusion: In general, the management of employee health and safety at Kendal Islamic Hospital during the pandemic has been carried out in accordance with the government's standards for handling COVID-19.

Abstract

Background: Farmers are informal sector workers exposed to multiple health risks due to the unsafe use or storage of pesticides. Farmer are at high risk of pesticide poisoning, which can affect their metabolic disorders. This review aims to systematically examine the impact of pesticide exposure on health disorders in farmers’  metabolic systems. Subjects and Method: This was a systematic review using the PICO model. The keywords used for the search for the study were “Impact” and “Pesticide” AND “Exposure” AND “Farmers’” AND “Meta­bolism System” in various databases. The inclusion criteria in this study were studies discussing varia­bles, research articles, and articles published from 2021 onwards, while the exclusion criteria were articles that do not have access or are not full-text. Data were collected using the extraction form, which includes PICO, and assessed using the PRISMA diagram. Data analysis was done descriptively by comparing the research results. Results: The study found that pesticide exposure can affect the metabolic system, potentially damaging cells and causing oxidative stress by damaging lipids, proteins, and DNA, leading to genetic mutations and cell degeneration. The impact of exposure to glyphosate and arsenic pesticides causes liver and kidney function damage and decreased cardiovascular health. Exposure to paraquat, glyphosate, and oxyfluorophene causes Thyroid Cancer. Exposure to organophosphate and organo­chlorine pesticides causes Parkinson’s. Insecticides, herbicides, and fungicides cause sleep disorders. In addition, herbicide pesticides have a significant relationship with type 2 diabetes. Conclusion: Based on research findings, pesticide exposure impacts farmers’ metabolic systems, including the incidence of Chronic Kidney Disease, decline in cardiovascular health, Thyroid Cancer, Parkinson’s Disease, Sleep Disorders, and Type 2 Diabetes.

Abstract

Latar Belakang: Servere Acute Respiratory Syndrome Coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2) merupakan penyakit menular yang familiar kita sebut dengan Corona Virus Disease 2019 (Covid-19). Menurut data yang di laporkan dari pusat digital tenaga kesehatan, pertanggal 23 April 2022 sebanyak 2087 tenaga kesehatan Indonesia gugur melawan Covid-19. Hal ini merupakan sebuah kabar yang sangat tidak baik dan membutuhkan peran pemerintah dalam perlindungan keselamatan dan kesehatan kerja para dokter, perawat serta manajemen rumah sakit. Keselamatan dan kesehatan kerja ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan status kesehatan dan jaminan keselamatan para pekerja dalam mencegah penyakit dan kecelakaan resiko akibat kerja. Tujuan: Artikel ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengelolaan keselamatan dan Kesehatan kerja karyawan rumah sakit di masa pandemic covid-19. Metode: Artikel diseleksi berdasarkan kriteria inklusi dan kata kunci melalui database Google Scholar dan Google Cendekia dengan kata kunci jurnal kesehatan dan keselamatan kerja perawat dan petugas medis di masa pandemic covid-19 dan didapatkan 10 artikel utama yang akan ditelaah. Hasil: Berdasarkan tinjauan literatur sebelumnya, pelaksanaan pengelolaan keselamatan dan kesehatan kerja karyawan rumah sakit di masa pandemic covid-19 sebagian perusahaan/rumah sakit sudah melaksanakan dengan baik dalam penerapannya. Namun, masih terdapat beberapa kekurangan atau kendala antara lain kurangnya SDM, kesadaran karyawan akan pentingnya fasilitas untuk pencegahan COVID-19, kurangnya anggaran K3, dan faktor lainnya. Kesimpulan: Penelitian ini dapat disimpulkan bahwa Pelaksanaan Sistem Manajemen Keselamatan dan Kesehatan Kerja terhadap K3 dan Penularan COVID-19 termasuk kinerja baik, sedangkan tingkat keberhasilan kinerja termasuk kurang.

Abstract

Latar belakang: Tahun 2019 tepatnya pada bulan Desember, telah diketahui penyakit pernafasan akut yang disebabkan oleh virus corona/ COVID-19 (corona virus desiase-19). Penularan COVID-19 pada tenaga kesehatan menjadi isu yang sangat penting di era pandemic ini. Di Indonesia data dari lapor COVID-19 tanggal 15 juli 2021, Jumlah kematian tenaga kesehatan tercatat 1.292 meninggal akibat COVID-19. Data yang ditemukan sebaran COVID-19 ternyata juga sudah menginfeksi pada karyawan rumah sakit islam Kendal. Total populasi 512 karyawan, 20% terpapar COVID-19 yaitu 118 karyawan, dengan sebaran kasus yang paling tinggi terjadi pada tenaga medis yaitu 14%. Tujuan: Kesehatan dan keselamatan kerja adalah suatu usaha dan upaya untuk menciptakan perlindungan dan keamanan dari kerugian seperti bahaya, baik fisik, mental maupun emosi terhadap pekerja. Metode: Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian kualitatif dengan desain studi kasus single case. Pengumpulan data mengunakan teknik purposive sampling dilakukan dengan observasi dan wawancara mendalam. Pengelohan data penelitian ini dilakukan dengan mengamati pengelolaan kesehatan dan keselamatan kerja karyawan rumah sakit di masa Pandemi : Studi kasus COVID-19 pada karyawan di Rumah Sakit Islam Kendal. Data sekunder digunakan untuk mendukung dan berhubungan dengan variabel penelitian atau masalah penelitian. Hasil: Pengelolaan COVID-19 di RSI Kendal pada dasarnya sudah menyesuaikan dengan regulasi yang ditetapkan oleh pemerintah mulai dari kebijakan/regulasi, penyediaan serta dalam penyediaan APD. Akan tetapi masih ada beberapa kendala dalam pelaksanaanya, sehingga masih banyak karyawan yang tertular dan terpapar COVID-19. Hal ini dipengaruhi oleh banyak faktor antara lain, kelelahan, imunitas yang turun, stress dan masih banyak petugas dan karyawa yang tidak disiplin dengan prokes. Kesimpulan: Secara umum pengelolaan kesehatan dan keselamatan kerja karyawan di Rumah Sakit Islam Kendal dimasa pandemi sudah dijalankan menyesuaikan dengan standart penanganan COVID-19 dari pemerintah.
