Abstract

The productivity of cocoa (Theobroma cacao L.) in Indonesia has decreased every year. Organic and sustainable fertilization starting from the nursery can be done as an effort to improve the productivity of cocoa. Organic fertilizers consist of 2, namely solid and liquid organic fertilizers. The use of POC can accelerate the absorption of nutrients by plant roots. POC banana peel kepok contains a number of nutrients needed by plants such as C, N, P, K, Fe, Cu, and Zn. This study aims to determine the effect and dose of differences in the volume of watering POC of good kepok banana peels on the growth of cocoa seedlings. This study used a non-factorial Completely Randomized Design (CRD) with 6 treatment levels and 4 replications. Each treatment consisted of 3 plant samples so that 72 samples of seeds were obtained. Parameters observed included plant height (cm), number of leaves (strands), stem diameter (mm), root length (cm), plant dry weight (g). Cocoa seedling growth data were analyzed using Analysis of Variances (ANOVA). If the results of the analysis have a significant effect, it will be continued with Duncan's Multiple Range Test (DMRT) at a level of 5% and data processing using the SAS application version 9.0. Based on the results of the follow-up test (DMRT), the best watering of POC banana peels on the growth of cocoa seedlings (Theobroma cacao L.) was at the volume of watering POC 120 mL.

Abstract

ABSTRACT Coffee (Coffea sp.) is one type of plantation plant that has been cultivated for a long time and has a fairly high economic value. This study aims to determine the effect of chicken egg shell flour on Robusta coffee seeds on peat media. Egg shell contains 97% calcium carbonate, the rest is phosphorus, magnesium, sodium and potassium. This study aims to determine the effect of giving chicken eggshell flour on the growth of coffee seedlings on peat media. This research was conducted from September to December 2021 at the Ketapang State Polytechnic. This research was conducted using a completely randomized design (CRD) consisting of 5 treatments. The treatments were K0: without chicken egg shell flour, K1: 6.25 gr/plant, K2: 10.0 gr/plant, K3: 13, 75 gr/Plant, K4: 17.50 gr/Plant. Each treatment was repeated 6 times, each replication consisted of 3 plant samples until there were 90 experimental units. The data that has been obtained were analyzed using Analysis Of Variance (ANOVA). Data that has a significant effect, then continued with the Duncan Multiple Range Test (DMRT) at a level of 5%. The provision of chicken eggshell flour had a significant effect on the growth of plant height, number of leaves, stem diameter, root length and dry weight of robusta coffee plants, chicken eggshell flour at a dose of 17.50 g/plant was the best dose that affected the vegetative growth of coffee plants at this parameter. plant height, stem diameter, number of leaves, root length and dry weight of robusta coffee plants. Keywords : Flour, shells, eggs, chicken, coffee.

Abstract

Oil palm empty fruit bunch (TKKS) biochar has the potential to increase the availability of nutrients needed by plants, namely N, P, K, Ca and Mg, which aims to increase growth on pepper cuttings (Piper nigrum L) with subsoil ultisol as a medium. This study aims to determine the best composition of oil palm empty fruit bunch biochar for the growth of pepper cuttings. This research has been carried out from May to August 2022 on Jl. Brigjem Katamso No.02, Sukaharja, Delta Pawan District, Ketapang Regency, West Kalimantan. This study used a non-factorial Completely Randomized Design (CRD) with 5 treatments and 4 replications. Each treatment consisted of 3 plants so that 60 experimental units were obtained. Parameters observed included shoot height (cm), number of leaves (strands), shoot diameter (cm), shoot dry weight (grams), and root dry weight (grams). Based on analysis of variance, it was shown that giving biochar of oil palm empty fruit bunches with a composition of 15% biochar of oil palm empty bunches (150 g) + 80% ultisol subsoil (850 g) on the growth of pepper cuttings had a significant effect on the parameters of plant height, number of leaves, diameter shoots, root volume, soil pH, and plant dry weight.
