Abstract

The strength and durability of concrete depends on the composition of its constituent materials ie fine aggregate, coarse aggregate, cement, water and other additives. The cement composition is about 10% acting as a binder paste material fine and coarse aggregates. In the Lampung market there are several brands of portland cement used by the community to make concrete construction. Although there is a standard of the government of portland cement composition, yet each brand of cement has different characteristics. Cement is generally composed of limestone / limestone containing calcium oxide (CaO), clay (clay) containing silica oxide (SiO2), aluminum oxide (Al2O3), iron oxide (Fe2O3) and a cast that serves to control the hardening. Cement manufacturers make products based on chemical elements resulting from the research to make their products better than other products, so although procedurally similar but have different composition and properties. Another difference are the density, start and end time of bonding and strength. This research will be conducted research on several brands of cement in the province of Lampung, among others, vicat test, the consistency test, compression test and bending in reinforced concrete beam structure. From the research it can be shown the cement test results as an input to the user as a result of the unequal nature of the cement.

Abstract

This research aims at determining the behaviour of structural elements of precast reinforced concrete beams which are connected with wet and dry connections. Specimen used was 30 Mpa reinforced concrete beams with 6 pieces of 8 mm diameter main reinforcement which are placed on two rollers at the joint pedestal of each end and has a rectangular cross section of prismatic 10x18 cm2. Wet connection is a connection that uses a polymer concrete material of 40 MPa with a grafting method using prepacked method. The result of the research is expected to contribute to the development of precast concrete in building construction in Indonesia. In the elastic condition, the beam monolith has the largest natural frequency of the value, but a wet connection beam has a low natural frequency value. The difference of this natural frequency value is also equal to the condition of crack and ultimate.

Abstract

The canal is one of the complementary buildings on the road segment in meeting the technical requirements of road infrastructure. The highway channel serves to circulate air that can interfere with road users, so that the road body remains dry. This research was conducted in Sumber Agung Village, Kemiling District, Bandar Lampung City on September 17, 2021. This research method is descriptive qualitative. The purpose of this study is to explain to the public what is meant by a drainage system and explain how the procedures for a good road drainage system are to prevent this from happening in the road area. The conclusion of this study is that rural problems are problems that have a fairly high complexity so that a comprehensive and sustainable solution is needed. The participation of local communities in the implementation of community empowerment is still low due to the lack of public awareness in maintaining drainage channels.

Abstract

This study evaluates the influence of vertical geometric variation on the seismic response and inter-story drift of reinforced concrete Special Moment Resisting Frame (SMRF) buildings located in the high seismic zone of Bandar Lampung. Three hypothetical 30-meter-tall models were analyzed: Model A (12 stories), Model B (10 stories), and Model C (8 stories). Nonlinear static pushover analysis was performed in accordance with SNI 1726:2019 and ATC-40 criteria. The results indicate that variations in story height significantly affect the dynamic characteristics and deformation patterns of the structures. Model A exhibits the shortest natural period (T = 1.559 s) and the largest base shear capacity (8,722 kN), but shows more limited post-yield behavior due to the short column effect. Model C produces the highest drift ratio (1.072%) as a result of the more dominant P-Delta effect. All models achieve the Life Safety (LS) performance level, with the majority of plastic hinges remaining in the Immediate Occupancy (IO) category, indicating available deformation capacity. Within the scope of this study, Model B is considered the most balanced configuration in terms of stiffness, drift, and ductility, and is therefore recommended as a balanced vertical geometric configuration for 30-meter-high buildings.

Abstract

The utilization of locally available aggregates is an important consideration in concrete production, particularly in regions where the availability and transportation of conventional river aggregates may affect construction efficiency. This study aims to evaluate the compressive strength performance of concrete incorporating Kepahiang mountain stone as an alternative coarse aggregate in comparison with Sungai Lais river stone. The experimental investigation was conducted using concrete mixtures with identical proportions and a water-to-cement ratio of 0.45, designed to achieve a target strength of K-300. A total of 12 cylindrical specimens were prepared, consisting of six specimens for each type of coarse aggregate, and compressive strength was evaluated after 14 days of curing. The physical and mechanical properties of the aggregates were also examined, including specific gravity, water absorption, and abrasion resistance. The results indicate that the concrete containing Sungai Lais river stone achieved a higher average compressive strength of 325.030 kg/cm², compared with 310.738 kg/cm² for the concrete containing Kepahiang mountain stone. The characteristic compressive strengths were 311.621 kg/cm² and 300.789 kg/cm², respectively, resulting in a difference of 10.832 kg/cm² or approximately 3.48%. Despite this difference, both mixtures achieved the targeted K-300 concrete strength. Furthermore, the average mass of the mountain-stone concrete specimens was 12.11 kg, lower than the 12.75 kg recorded for the river-stone concrete. These findings indicate that Kepahiang mountain stone has potential as a locally sourced alternative coarse aggregate for concrete production, particularly under mixture conditions comparable to those investigated in this study. Further research involving different curing ages, water-to-cement ratios, aggregate gradations, and durability parameters is recommended to establish its broader applicability in construction.
