Abstract

This research is to find out the spiritual values ​​ existing in Pencak Silat (Martial Arts) as an effort to develop one's character, one of which is able to change the nature of thuggery. This study uses a qualitative design with a case study method, in which researchers conduct observations and interviews, and collect documentation at Padepokan Sapu Jagat Sukabumi. The data analysis process was carried out through the stages of collecting scientific article data sources, listening and interpreting the results of interviews, and comparing the interpretation results with previous research. Pencak Silat itself is a cultural heritage of the Indonesian nation having spiritual values, an attitude of piety to God Almighty, and a good social character. The spiritual values existing in PadepokanSapu Jagat are, among others, teaching to always ask God’s forgiving (istigfar), to read syahadat (creed), salawat, talqin sentences, to say the names of Allah, and tawasul. In addition, PadepkanSapu Jagat also teaches its members how to control themselves. The results of observations and interviews conducted by researchers show that the spiritual value existing in Sapu Jagat Padepokan is, among others, the ability to change the attitude of former criminals in Sukabumi, in fact this Sapu Jagat Padepokan is committed to providing goodness to the community environment.

Abstract

Agama sebagai sebuah hal sakral dalam kehidupan seringkali dianggap memiliki dua sisi, yaitu sebagai pedoman hidup seseorang dan sebagai senjata untuk berkonflik dengan umat yang memiliki kepercayaan agama berbeda. Sejumlah konflik antar umat beragama bukanlah sebuah polemik baru, bahkan saat ini sudah merambah ke lingkup media sosial. Konflik antar umat beragama yang sering disertai dengan aksi kekerasan membuat agama seringkali identik dengan perilaku sangar, garang dan beringas, padahal, seluruh agama mengajarkan kebaikan. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kualitatif dengan pendekatan studi kasus. Teknik pengumpulan data dalam penelitian ini adalah menggunakan wawancara dan dokumentasi sejumlah artikel ilmiah. Hasil dari penelitian ini adalah teridentifikasinya penyebab konflik agama, yaitu (1) politisasi dan kepentingan budaya; (2) egoisme dan eksklusivisme beragama. Berangkat dari permasalahan tersebut, peneliti menawarkan sebuah model Teologi Inklusif sebagai resolusi terhadap konflik agama dengan aspek yang menyertainya berupa (1) moderasi beragama; (2) pluralisme; (3) inklusivisme beragama.

Abstract

In the midst of the government’s important agenda in building the nation’s character, a number of facts still show a bad and serious phenomenon among students. This study aims to explore and analyze the values in every aspect of PAI material in the competence domain and the relevance of its role to build the character of elementary school students (SD). This study chose an exploratory qualitative approach by the design of the inductive content analysis of the directed type and confirmed by the theory of character strength of the Appendix to Permendikbud 67/2013 on KD and the Curriculum Structure of SD/MI. The results of the study found that PAI in elementary schools the aspects of PAI material and the domain of competence were related and contributed to building students’ character strengths, which include: First, attitudes of love, confidence, obedience, and gratitude. Second, a literate character towards the material aspects of PAI (al-Quran, Hadith, Aqidah/Creed, Ibadah/Worship, Akhlaq/Morals, and Tarikh/Islamic History). Third, attitudes and behavior; academic skills, helping others, caring about cleanliness and pro-environment, sincere and patient, generous, trustworthy and unyielding, communicative, polite, and respectful. Elementary school has a strategic position and role, and recommends that PAI teachers pay attention to the transmission portion and age construct of students in building character so that they can choose the right learning model and strategy.
