Abstract

Abstract

Communication process is a process that describes the inter-human communication activities that are interactive, relational, and transactional where communicators send messages to the communicant through a certain media with a specific purpose and purpose. The operation of SAR is related to saving human life when disaster occurs. Organizational communication and coordination seen in SAR operations handling sinking case of KM.  Kumala Endah where the distance of the location of the event far enough from the SAR Medan office, while the communication must continue to run during the SAR operation process takes place. This research uses qualitative approach with descriptive data analysis method. This approach was chosen because the researchers wanted to obtain how the process of organizational communication in coordinating the implementation of SAR operations conducted SAR Medan office. Data collection techniques used interviews, observation and documentation studies. The results showed that organizational communication and coordination conducted by the head of Medan SAR office and rescuer team SAR Medan office during the operation handling case sinking of KM. Kumala Endah has gone well. Constraints faced by SAR team when handling KM.Kumala Endah sinking case is a big wave problem, dirty sea water that reduces the divers's visibility when dive searching for victims and disruption  of  reception  signal  via  HT  (HandyTalk)  but  everything  can  be overcome well.

Abstract

This research is based on the social media account of Instagram @humas_pemkomedan which contains the image of Medan City Government. The purpose of this study to determine the public perception about the image of Medan City Government through social media accounts Instagram. Theories used in this study include the theoretical description of communication, perception, society, image, social media, Instagram. The research method used is qualitative descriptive method. Selection of informants here is the people of Medan City who follow social media accounts Instagram @humas_pemkomedan and informants in this study following the principle of saturation where if the data needed is still less will be done addition of informants to get new information until the data obtained reach saturation point that if from the source is the same, then the data collection through the interview is stopped. Data collection   techniques  were  conducted   by  semi-structured interviews to all informants, and the results of this study showed that where the perception of the image is described into the first two aspects through Instagram profile and the second is the content of Instagram @humas_pemkomedan consisting of 6 categories of uploads are as follows: The activities of Medan city administration, news reports on work, information and appeal, congratulations, videos, figures, then Public Perceptions About Government Image Medan City Through Social Media Account Instagram is tend to be positive.

Abstract

This research was conducted among communication science students of State Islamic University Medan of North Sumatra, the aim of this study is to determine the level of social skills in adolescents, online game addiction level, and the relationship of online game addiction with social skills in adolescents among communication science students of State Islamic University of North Sumatra. This research uses quantitative methods. Research subjects were 186 respondents who were selected using random sampling. In collecting data, researchers used a Likert scale.  The analysis of data in this study uses simple linear regression. In this study, researchers used the Sociopsycholog theory from Little Jhon. The results of the research conducted, it is known that (1) the level of online game addiction in adolescents among communication science students at the State Islamic University of North Sumatra is in the medium category with a percentage of 69.4%. (2) while the level of social skills of adolescents among communication students of State Islamic University of North Sumatra Medan is in the medium category with a percentage of 85.5% or 159 subjects (3) known also (correlation coefficient 0.215 with p = 0.000 and Sig scores .2-tailed 0.05) which means that there is a significant relationship between online gaming addiction and social skills among students of communication science at the State Islamic University of North Sumatra in Medan.

Abstract

This research is motivated by the presence of Razor Infotaiment on RCTI which is quite popular with the community as entertainment. The purpose of this study was to determine the perceptions of residents of the Environment 21 of Tanjung Mulia Village. The theories used in this study include a description of the theory of mass communication, television mass media, perception, razor infotaiment. The population of this study were residents of the Environment 21 of Tanjung Mulia Village. The sample of this study was 40 people from the Environment 21 of Tanjung Mulia, Medan. The research method used is descriptive quantitative method. The results of the study showed that residents of the Environment 21 regarding Silet infotaiment shows on RCTI were very positive, where people's perceptions of the Silet's infotaiment impressions on RCTI were quite positive when viewed in terms of broadcast material related to the screening schedule, content, time, duration. Likewise from the side of the presenter who brought the infotaiment program.
