Abstract

Increasing the local materials' utilization through community participation in freshwater fish farming is one of the keys to realizing family-based food independence. It can be done by utilizing narrow land, utilizing local raw materials that can be used as ingredients for handmade fish feed, preventing pests and diseases, and improving the aquatic environment's quality. Those steps need to get the attention of various parties through an appropriate technology approach. One of the areas for developing freshwater fish farming in Malang is the Sukun sub-district. The fish farmer group association called "Gapoktan" in the sukun sub-district that carries out fisheries activities is the "Mekar mulyo" Gapoktan. Gapoktan Mekar Mulyo was formed in 2014 with the chairman, Mr. Rahmad, located in Gadang village, Sukun sub-district. There are four groups: one mina weling fish cultivator group, two farmer groups, namely blossom sari, advanced farmers, and one mulyo farmer group. The number of group members is 55 people. Internal community service activities for Gapoktan "Mekar Mulyo" fish farmers in Gadang village, Sukun District, Malang City aim to increase knowledge and skills on the application of acceptable fish farming methods (CBIB), to improve partners' skills in producing fish feed based on indigenous raw materials, and to increase the skills and knowledge of partners in environmental management based on herbal plants. The methods used in the fisheries team's internal community service program where training and mentoring on acceptable fish farming methods (CBIB), independent fish feed production, and probiotic propagation based on local raw materials. The internal community service activities results are as follows: partners can implement an intensive cultivation system in freshwater fish cultivation activities based on acceptable fish farming practices (CBIB). The program partners have succeeded in producing independent fish feed in fermentation, increasing probiotics manufactured from local raw materials, and partners can implement sustainable water quality monitoring. This evaluation is in line with the increase in fish production data during the activity.

Abstract

Catfish farming is growing rapidly because the cultivation and marketing technology is relatively easy for the community to master, and the required business capital is relatively small. Pond water waste originating from fish metabolism and dissolved food waste is toxic to fish. One of the efforts that can be done is fish farming that is integrated with plants through an aquaponics system. Research to determine the effect of AB Mix addition on the growth of African catfish and lettuce cultivated by the aquaponics system. The research method used was an experimental method with a completely randomized design (CRD) consisting of three treatments and three replications. The addition of AB mixed nutrition did not differ in the growing significance of catfish and lettuce. However, the increase in growth occurred with an increasing dosage of AB mix with the best treatment with AB Mix 3 mL L-1. This treatment resulted in absolute growth in fish of 20.52 g and 4.62 g of watercress. The use of a dosage of AB mix higher than 3 mL L-1 may result in better growth.

Abstract

Giant prawns (Macrobrachium rosenbergii) need enough nutrients for the reproductive process. One way to give feed which contains high enough protein. Complete nutritional content, especially protein, can be found in natural food. The type of natural feed used for main feeds including squid, sea worms, trash fish. Complete nutrient content can affect the rate of gonadal development and fecundity. (Squid, sea worms, trash fish) on the level of gonadal maturity and density of broodstock parents (Macrobrachium rosenbergii). This research was conducted by a completely randomized design (CRD) trial design. This study used 4 replications of different types of feeding. The types of feed given are squid, sea worms, trash fish, and pellets at a dose of 5% from biomass/day. The parameters of observation include observation of the level of gonad resistance, fundamentality of broodstock parent, and measurement of water quality (temperature, pH, and dissolved oxygen). The results showed that the administration of different types of feed (sea worms, trash fish) had a very significant effect on the level of maturity and had a significant effect on the probability of prawns (M. rosenbergii). After analysis of variance, the results of F Calculations are greater than F Table 0.05 and F Table 0.01. The smallest significant difference test (LSD) was obtained in P1 (Squid feed) with the Gonad maturity rate ± 5- 6 days as much as 83 % parent and fecundity average results of 28,846 ± 4,925.3 thousand / 45 g.

Abstract

Performance of Eel (Anguilla bicolor) maintened in containers of different colors. Growth is the main driver in increasing the profitability of aquaculture. In addition to maintenance management the color of the container is also a factor supporting the growth of eels. This study aims to determine the effect of the color of different rearing containers on the growth and appetite response of eel. The test fish used were elver stage eels with an average weight (129 ±131g). The method used is an experiment with two treatments they are grey and green. The test fish were placed in a container measuring 19x4 m2 and a water level of 1m with a stocking density of 1100 individuals each, 30 days of rearing. The variables observed were growth performance including SR (Survival Rate), ADG (Average Daily Growth), FCR (Food Conversion Ratio), SGR (Specific Growth Rate). The results obtained indicated that there was a significant difference in the average growth of fish reared in grey and green containers. Grey container treatment was proven to get higher yields with average final weight values (192.4 ± 4.5 g), FCR (1.01 ± 0.02), ADG (2.01g/day ± 0.06), SGR (1 .25%BW/day±0.02). Based on the results of the study it can be concluded that there is a significant difference in the growth of eels reared in ash and green containers. The color of the ash container proved to be better in supporting growth performance. Keywords: Elver; Green; Grey; Nocturnal
