Type of this research is descriptive qualitative. The research object was a housewife with a new profession as an onion cutter in the lower middle class environment. The housewife comes from a family affected by Covid-19. Data obtained through observation and semi-structured interviews. The thinking framework used is Pierre Bordieu's perspective on the masculine domination. The masculine domination that was found in the social practices of the Sotang’s Village during the Covid-19 pandemic included: (1) women and onion cutting jobs during the Covid-19 outbreak; (2) female onion cutters as mothers and teachers; (3) space contestation for women onion cutters; (4) poverty and women. The role of women in increasing economic capital cannot be exchanged for symbolic capital. The form of masculine domination followed by symbolic violence as a result of the persecution of women from the lower middle class in the  Sotang’s Village during the Covid-19 pandemic has become part of the strengthening of androcentric culture.

Abstract

The Qur'an is translated and interpreted using Javanese to spread Islam in Java. A handwritten Javanese script called Serat Alpatékah is used. The Javanese language's structure and Islamic history have never been combined to analyze this manuscript. Descriptive-philological research is the methodology employed. This type of research combines descriptive and philological methods. Words, phrases, and sentences (part of grammatical structure) from Surah Al-Fatihah and Al-Baqarah in Serat Alpatékah manuscript were used as the research's primary sources of information. The study's findings indicate that 1) Rekso Pustoko Puro Mangkunegaran Office, Surakarta owns the Serat Alpatékah manuscript used for script teaching. The script's purported author is R.Ng. Ronggowarsito. Using conventional techniques, text from manuscripts made of Serat Alpatékah is transliterated. The form of the text critique apparatus in the text is adjusted according to the Javanese dictionary. Standard techniques for text editing in the manuscript Serat Alpatékah. Eugene A. Nida's translation theory is applied to ascertain the sentence structure found in Javanese, the target language; 2) The analysis phase explains the textual, contextual, and grammatical relationships. The Javanese sentence structure revealed in the Serat Alpatékah manuscript is related to the tafsiriyah translation process. The aim of translation is to convey the message from the source language to the target language. To achieve this goal, the Serat Alpatékah manuscript is never translated without grammatical analysis or text restructuring.

Abstract

This study explores the translation methodologies of three Javanese Qur'an manuscripts: Serat Alpatékah, Kuran Jawi and Kitab Kuran. These manuscripts primarily employ tafsiriyah translation, a method that, while effective linguistically, often overlooks sociocultural aspects that can influence public acceptance of the translation. To address this gap, this research investigates how translation strategies in these regional language Qur'an manuscripts account for the socio-cultural nuances inherent in each translator's local context. The study adopts a descriptive-philological approach, utilizing Javanese words, phrases, and sentences—specifically from the translation of Surah Al-Baqarah—as its primary data. Data were collected through interviews, observation, and documentation. The findings reveal that both formal and dynamic equivalence are used to varying degrees within the tafsiriyah translation method, particularly evident in the absorption of Arabic elements into Javanese and in word equivalence. Furthermore, the tafsiriyah translation method demonstrates a greater prevalence of semantic translation strategies compared to structural strategies. Future research should also consider Javanese Qur'an manuscripts written in Javanese script, as they offer valuable insights into the cultural and historical variations embedded within Javanese language varieties.

The COVID-19 pandemic significantly impacted the economy of rural communities in Indonesia, including Sampung Village, Sarang District, Rembang Regency. This research aims to enhance the economic value and shelf life of the sapodilla harvest by transforming it into Zapota Chips. Using a Participatory Action Research (PAR) approach, the study involved community members in the process. Key strategies included trial production of sapodilla products, branding and packaging of Zapota Chips, launching the product, establishing the UMKM Guyub Berkarya organizational structure, and conducting seminars with the Dinas DAGKOPUKM Rembang Regency. Additionally, marketing relationships were cultivated, and mentoring was provided for UMKM members. Financial planning discussions and coordination for distribution were also conducted. The initiative engaged local resources, particularly young women and housewives, to enhance economic empowerment. The results indicate that these efforts successfully increased the economic value of the sapodilla harvest, fostering local development. This program exemplifies how community involvement and strategic planning can harness local potential for broader economic benefits.

Abstract

The phenomenon of differences in the implementation determination of Eid al-Fitr in 1418 H was regretted by the Indonesian people. Responding to the emergence of differences in the determination of 1418 H, KH Maimoen Zubair through his work Nusuus al-Akhyar fi Al-Shum wa Al-Iftihar intends to provide solutions to Muslims in Indonesia in facing the differences surrounding the determination of Eid al-Fitr. This type of research is qualitative research with the research approach used being discourse analysis initiated by Van Dijk. The data used in this study consisted of primary data and secondary data. Primary data are in the form of lexemes, words, phrases, and sentences in Arabic that contain ideas about the determination of the beginning of the month of Ramadan and Shawwal in the book. Secondary data come from sources, journals, print media, online journalism, and other scientific works to find out the context of social situations that can influence the writing of the book. Data collection methods in this study are interviews and literature study. The results showed that the linguistic aspect that stands out in the discourse of persuasion is the invitation to promote unity in the midst of controversy over differences in each group; the author's ideology appears in the title, the lexemes "judge" and "hilal"; the pronouns of the time and person in the text indicate that there is a different social context from the current condition. The social conditions that appear in the book are the differences in the method of determination by Indonesian Mass Organizations and the emergence of certain polemics in 1998.

This study uses semiotic analysis by Roland Barthes, being able to answer some problems related to the meanings studied. Furthermore, the steps used in this study are: first, looking for the original meaning by translating the tembang into Indonesian, second, researching some words that can represent connotative meanings, third, analyzing the data has been obtained to get messages (myth) conveyed in these verses. The existence of this research will be able to contribute to the development of science in the field of semiotics of the interpretation of the Qur'an.
