Abstract

The COVID-19 pandemic has brought humans into a new civilization, where Zoom meeting is no longer just an application but a changing pattern of human interaction with each other. This change, of course, requires adaptation, and not a few end up having problems due to Work From Home. Zoom applications risked two times of experiencing fatigue in students and four times of experiencing stress and also having issues in disruption of social functioning. This article aims to provide a solution to a person's resilience as a social being in the zoom era (zoom politicon) by applying Sufism and kenosis values. The approach used is library research. Through this study, we can see that some of the values in Sufism and kenosis have become the basis for a person to survive all challenges in life, especially amid fatigue doing activity online. These current values also protect a person from being caught up in a sin that eventually perishes. Human values as a part of zoom politicon must still be put forward to reflect one's spiritual journey to God.

Abstract

Abstract

Statistics show an increase in violence against women during a pandemic. Violence experienced by women is invisible and silent suffering that can be heard on humanitarian issues during a pandemic. This article intends to contribute to theological thinking as well as advocacy for women suffering during the pandemic. This theological thinking is built through a narrative analysis of Judges 19: 1-30 using a feminist perspective narrative analysis. This analysis aims to critically review the text of violence from a pro-women perspective. It is hoped that this analysis will be useful in enriching the treasures of theological thought related to the narrative of Judges 19: 1-30 and emphasizing the importance of discussing gender-based violence in theological thinking and ecclesiastical ministry. In the end, violence against women in Judges 19: 1-30 cannot be separated from the phenomenon of moral degradation among the Israelites. So contextually, the existence of gender-based violence, especially against women, can be seen as a moral crisis that must be seriously confronted during a pandemic.

Abstract

In the era of globalization, human lifestyles are influenced by the currents of global change. This article addresses the phenomenon of YOLO (You Only Live Once), which is becoming increasingly popular in modern society. While it encourages an appreciation for life, there is also a prevalent negative interpretation of YOLO, particularly among the younger generation. This research aims to explore the perceptions of Christian believers regarding the concept of YOLO and how the Christian faith perspective aids in achieving a balance between worldly living and preparation for eternal life. A qualitative research method employing a literature review approach is utilized to analyze the definition, integration with Christian values, and practical applications of YOLO in the daily lives of Christian believers. The findings underscore the significance of cherishing life by honoring God and preparing for the eternal. From a Christian faith perspective, life serves as a preparation for an existence alongside God after death, necessitating a judicious application of YOLO in every choice and action. AbstrakDalam era globalisasi, gaya hidup manusia terpengaruh oleh arus perubahan global. Artikel ini membahas fenomena YOLO (You Only Live Once) yang semakin populer di kalangan masyarakat modern. Abstract

Toxic Masculinity is a problem that is rooted in false rationalization. This rationalization becomes crystallization since the masses agree on it together. As a result, it becomes an objective view and lifestyle. The Apostle Paul proclaimed equality in this regard, of course, equality when living in Jesus Christ. This is the foundation for those of us who believe in Him. However, this equality must be felt and experienced. This research uses a library research method with a qualitative approach. Merleau Ponty's phenomenology invites you to feel that feeling "sense," not to replace that feeling, but to accept it and then exist. Because individuals have bodies, the body is directed at "being in the world," and we must "be in the world."

Abstract

Young people who exist and interpret their relationships horizontally really need to understand the meaning of their relationships, of course, in their friendships. The fundamental problem is that young people prioritize reciprocity in their friendly relations rather than the value of "kindness." In Plato's view, friendship can be likened to a triangle, where the level of interchange between actors is relative, not primary. To find out vague problems, researchers used the Gap Method and a literature study approach. This discussion results in young Christians interpreting their existence in relationships as free of horizontal relationships alone. Still, instead, they pursue the vertical relationship of "God" together. Christian youth who involve God in their friendship relationships will go beyond epithumia and thumos relationships; their relationships will be at the logistic level.

Abstract

Many people are facing problems with money, including Christian Leaders. Problems appear when a pastor serves others in order to gain prosperity. This attitude caused his teachings by emphasizing a successful life. Wealthy tend to be a standard of success. Surely the prosperity Gospel is false because Jesus Christ taught His believers to gain spiritual wealth in Heaven by giving priority to the kingdom of God (Matthew 6:19-34). This lack of attitude occurred among the pastors of the Synod of the Bible’s Truthful Voice Church (abbreviated as GSKI). Therefore, this article aims to seek the correlation between the GSKI pastors' perception of the concept of gaining treasure in Heaven consider to the Kingdom of God. Using the Quantitative Method, Correlational type, the Hypothesis is tested with SPSS 20 application. The results showed that the attitude of seeking treasure in heaven is a pattern of life that is formed by the pastor motive who gives priority to serving God, the kingdom of God, and His righteousness simultaneously. Hence, this article contributes to the research on how to practice the Kingdom values.

Abstract

Indonesia stands firm in its democratic values and respects its presidential election in 2024. However, the scent of the history of identity politics still lingers and threatens the harmony of voting. Even though identity politics seem to be a common and acceptable method, it bears danger, especially to Christians as a minority. This can happen through the burdens and biases of Christians to vote. Through descriptive literature methods of biblical perspective with contextual interpretation alongside political reviews and literature, this paper tries to answer the question of how a Christian should vote for their future leader amidst the pressure of identity politics. The Bible can be a clear guideline to show that such political events and methods had already occurred in the Old Testament and New Testament eras. The wisdom contained in the Proverbs that was intended for future young leaders, as well as the wisdom of Jesus Christ, can help shape the answer on how a Christian should vote for their future leaders. This paper finds that Christians as minorities should try to be objective following biblical standards and the quality of a leader, such as righteousness, multiple councils, servanthood, and accountability, rather than drowning in misconceptions of defensive and subjective votes based on religion-ethnicity sameness or popular opinion.

Abstract

This research aims to conduct an in-depth study of claims about the birth of Jesus from a virgin, which is thought to have occurred through the process of parthenogenesis. In Christian tradition, the birth of Jesus from Mary is considered a miracle involving the concept of birth without human fertilization. By using descriptive qualitative methods through an interdisciplinary approach that includes hermeneutics (text analysis and science), this research tries to reveal whether parthenogenesis is a scientific possibility that can explain the birth of Jesus. This research method involves textual analysis of the birth narrative of Jesus in the New Testament, as well as scientific examination of the possible process of parthenogenesis in human reproduction. The results of the theological and scientific analysis will be evaluated to determine to what extent the claim of Jesus' virgin birth is acceptable from the perspective of faith and science. The results of this research show that the event of Jesus' birth can be called parthenogenesis if the reader looks at it through a scientific lens. On the other hand, the event of Jesus' birth is the intervention of God and His Holy Spirit as an absolute thing that cannot be separated and denied and even replaced with other concepts.
