Abstract

As a new payment instrument, electronic money usage is increasing yearly. This can be seen from the increasing volume and nominal transactions. This study aims to see whether electronic money transactions affect the effectiveness of monetary policy in Indonesia, as seen from economic growth, inflation, interest rates, and money supply. The analytical method used is the Vector Autoregression/ Vector Error Correction Model (VAR/ VECM), using secondary time series data sourced from the Central Bureau of Statistics and Bank Indonesia, observation period 2010M1 to 2021M12. The results show that there is a long-term relationship between the electronic money variable and the monetary policy variable in the VAR model, so the model shifted to VECM. Second, this study finds that an increase in the volume of electronic money transactions positively affects the effectiveness of monetary policy in the long run. Meanwhile, in the long run, an increase in the nominal of electronic money transactions has a varying impact on monetary policy indicators.

Abstract

Generation Z plays a crucial role in shaping the tourism industry, distinguished by its unique characteristics and strong digital expertise. Using bibliometric analysis, this study examined 192 publications indexed in the Scopus database between 2018 and 2024. The findings indicate an increasing interest among academics after 2020, with a focus on collaborative efforts and global contributions. Key themes include social media, sustainability, and virtual reality, reflecting evolving research directions in Generation Z's travel preferences. Based on these findings, future studies should explore longitudinal analyses and cross-cultural comparisons to refine tourism strategies, leveraging innovative technologies and marketing approaches to increase the engagement with Generation Z travellers.

Abstract

As a country with a large population, Indonesia shows an increasing trend of imports of consumer goods every year. This can further restrict the growth of the domestic industrial sector, so it is important to analyze the factors that influence imports of consumer goods to establish the right policy. The purpose of this research is to analyze how imports of consumer goods are affected by per capita income, inflation and exchange rates in short and long term period 2000 – 2022. Previous research shows diverse results regarding the effect of inflation on imports of consumer goods. Some research also focusses on imports in general so research that specifically discusses imports of consumer goods is still limited. This research attempts to analyze by using analysis method that is the Error Correction Model. Based on analysis, simultaneously both in short and long term imports of consumer goods are significantly affected by per capita income, inflation and exchange rates. Partially, per capita income and inflation have a significant effect on imports of consumer goods in the short term. Then, in the longer term, per capita income and exchange rate have a significant effect on imports of consumer goods. The variable in this study that has a dominant influence on imports of consumer goods in Indonesia is per capita income.

Abstract

This study analyzes whether the inflation threshold's effect impacts economic growth and determines the relationship between inflation and economic development. The data used in this study were obtained from the OECD: Economic Growth and Inflation, Investment, Money Supply, and Population Growth. This study uses time-series data from 1970-2019 using a threshold estimation model. The analysis technique used is multiple regression with the OLS method. The results of this study estimate an inflation threshold of 5%. Inflation with a point of 5% has a statistically negative and significant impact on economic growth. However, there is no evidence that an inflation rate below the 5% threshold can increase economic growth in Indonesia.

Abstract

This study aimed to explain the impact of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) on productivity and economic growth in Indonesia. The data used in this study are sourced from the World Bank and Federal Reserve financial data. The analysis in this study uses the Vector Autoregression/ Vector Error Correction Model (VAR/ VECM) technique to identify the impact and influence of ICT on productivity and economic growth in Indonesia in the short and long term. The results of this study indicate a long-term relationship between productivity based on total factor productivity (TFP) data and economic growth with other variables used in this research. In the research results, Fixed Broadband Subscription (FBS) and Internet Users (INT) have a significant and positive impact on economic productivity in the long term. Still, they are not substantial in the short time. Then, Fixed Broadband Subscription (FBS) and ICT Goods Export (ICTEXP) have a significant and positive impact on economic growth in the long term but are also insignificant in the short time.

Abstract

This research aims to determine the impact of increasing the use of information and communication technologies, in terms of cellular phones, computers, and the internet, on the provincial Gross Domestic Regional Product per capita in Indonesia. Static panel data regression using Within-Group Fixed Effect and dynamic panel data regression using System GMM is employed. The result shows that increasing the use of cellular phones, computers, dan the internet can promote provincial GDRP per capita. However, the impact caused by using ICTs is still relatively small.

Abstract

Indonesia is the fifth largest coffee exporter in the world. However, the improvement of Indonesias coffee export volume experiences fluctuation every year and even tends to decrease. This occurs due to some factors that affect it. The objective of this study is to analyze what factors affect the coffee export volume from the demand side and the most dominant factor which affects the export volume of Indonesias coffee from the demand side. This study uses a linear regression data panel method with five destination countries. The data which are used are secondary data between 2003-2019. This study shows domestic coffee consumption and gross domestic product per capita affect positively and significantly. At the same time, the real exchange rate affects negatively and is significant to Indonesias coffee volume export. The variable of gross domestic product per capita is the most dominant factor of Indonesias coffee export volume.

Abstract

This study aims to explain how the impact of the exchange rate and its volatility on exports in Indonesia. The analysis technique used is Generalized Autoregressive Conditional Heteroskedasticity (GARCH) to obtain exchange rate volatility, and Vector Error Correction Model (VECM) to identify factors that affect exports. The results of the study show that in the long run, the consumer price index and exchange rate volatility have a significant impact on exports in Indonesia.
