Abstract

Reverse Engineering (RE) is a process in manufacturing that aims to reproduce or recreate existing models, either components, sub-components, or products without using existing design documents or working drawings. Through this reverse engineering idea, the process of making the Pump Block component is started with making part and mold design, making sand casting, then finished with machining processes. The machining process that is carried out is the turning process, the milling process, and the drilling process which is assisted by using jigs and fixture to make it easier on finishing the Pump Block parts in the machining process. By using the processes, so it is produced the similar pump block that is resemble with desired original object.

Abstract

Pembangkit Listrik Tenaga Mikrohidro adalah suatu pembangkit listrik skala kecil yang cocok digunakan pada daerah pedesaan terpencil dan terisolir yang terletak pada daerah pegunungan yang memiliki potensi air yang besar akan tetapi jaringan listrik PLN tidak ada. Di Sumatera Barat sendiri, PLTMH memiliki potensi yang cukup besar untuk dikembangkan. Potensi ini menimbulkan konsekuensi penguasaan teknologi fabrikasi peralatan PLTMH, terutama turbin aliran silang oleh bengkel-bengkel yang ada di sekitarnya. Berdasarkan survei yang sudah dilakukan umumnya bengkel-bengkel ini masih melakukan pengerjaan secara manual dengan peralatan produksi yang sederhana dan volume produksi yang sangat rendah. Karena proyeksi ke depan berkaitan dengan potensi yang cukup besar ini, maka perlu solusi teknologi tepat guna yang cocok yaitu dengan memakai perkakas pegang dan pengarah untuk membantu proses pembuatan cakram pemutar yang merupakan salah satu rakitan penting turbin aliran silang. Dengan perkakas bantu yang dirancang ini beberapa kekurangan pada proses pembuatan secara manual seperti keterulangan bentuk profil dan ketelitian pengerjaan dapat diatasi. Juga, pengerjaan penandaan pelat dan pengerjaan tambahan dan perbaikan untuk setiap langkah proses dapat dikurangi atau bahkan dieliminir. Hal ini berakibat kepada penurunan waktu non-produktif yang cukup signifikan. Juga beberapa langkah proses manual yang kurang ergonomis, dengan perkakas bantu yang dirancang akan menjadi lebih ergonomis bagi operator.

Abstract

This study focuses on the design and development of a smoking device aimed at enhancing the quality and production efficiency of smoked fish. The primary objective was to create a device that optimizes the smoking process, ensuring consistent product quality while increasing production capacity. The development process involved a systematic design approach, including the selection of materials and construction techniques. The smoking process utilized a combination of drying and the application of natural smoke compounds derived from the combustion of organic materials. Performance testing was conducted using catfish as the primary substrate, with measurements taken for smoking duration, moisture content, and production rate. The effectiveness of the device was evaluated based on sensory characteristics, including texture, color, and aroma. The smoking apparatus was constructed with dimensions of 126 cm x 100 cm x 180 cm and is capable of accommodating up to 32 kg of fresh fish per smoking cycle. Results indicated that the smoking device achieves a production rate of 4 kg of smoked fish per hour, yielding products with a desirable golden-brown color and distinct smoky aroma. The findings demonstrate that the device significantly improves production capacity and allows for enhanced control over smoking conditions, contributing to greater consistency in product quality.

Abstract

A This study proposes an optimization-based power control strategy to enhance voltage and frequency stability in micro-hydro power plants (MHPP). The approach integrates multi-objective optimization, adaptive control, predictive algorithms, and robust mechanisms to overcome instability caused by load and water flow variations. System modeling and simulation were performed in MATLAB/Simulink, followed by experimental validation on a laboratory-scale prototype. Results show significant improvements compared to conventional PID and fixed-gain Electronic Load Controllers (ELC), reducing voltage and frequency deviations by up to 69% and 67%, respectively. Total Harmonic Distortion (THD) decreased to 3.8%, power factor improved to 0.93, and overall efficiency reached 87.2%. The method proved effective, stable, and feasible for real-time microcontroller implementation, offering a reliable solution for isolated and rural MHPP systems.
