Abstract

This study dicusses the analysis of the banding process in the manufacture of joint brake rod products based on data in a field. Analysis of the bending process that is carried out is to maximize in reducing the percentage of scrap formed in the blank process. The purpose of the analysis in this comparison process is to understand how the bucket elevator works and find out the number of buckets (bowls) in the bucket elevator needed to transport the product. The research method carried out is through direct observation of the literature studies that have been obtained in the form of books or journals and the internet as references. This calculation is carried out to be used as a benchmark as a comparison material from the calculation results with information data on the number of joint brake rods in the field. This comparison material is based on several basic theories and conclusions obtained from the result of calculations. Therefore, the process that occurs in the press machine, especially in the bending process, there are several this that need to be taken into account to produce a good and optimal product. Some of these include bending styles. From this research, it can be concluded that the amount of force for bending process is 8,640 N. The amount of force required for the pad to hold the material during the bending process is 1,160 N. The total force required for the bending process is 10.8T.

Abstract

Motorcycle is a two-wheeled mode of transportation that is driven by an engine. There are several interrelated components in its use, including a shaft to transmit the rotation generated by the engine and to support balance. The purpose of this study was to determine the calculation of the rear axle of the Yamaha Jupiter MX 135CC. In this study, it can be said that the external load is 401.8 N, where the shaft that receives the bending load will produce a stress that occurs due to the shaft is 108.486 MPa with a diameter of 4.52. It can be said to fail if the stress that occurs is les than the material and the machine element will be said to be safe if the strength of the material is more than the stress that occurs.

Abstract

Currently, many automotive vehicles have become the primary need for a company or individual. So that the supporting factors that can improve the vehicle must be prepared and already in a condition that is ready for use. To be able to work the vehicle, one that can support the running of the vehicle is the axle on the CVT (Continously Variable Transmission). This shaft serves to continue the rotation of the crankshaft to the Primary Pulley then the rotation is forwarded to the Secondary Pulley which is connected using a V-belt. Thus the condition of the shaft to be used must be in a state that is ready for use. So that there is a shortage or defect in the shaft, there will be a condition of the shaft both in terms of material and size and must be in a condition that is ready to be used. If replacement with a perfect shaft. For this reason, in making the shaft, it must really use calculations with high accuracy. This research has a problem formulation, namely how the working principle and function of a shaft in the engine element and how to calculate the shaft in the engine element. And aims to determine the working principle and function of a shaft in machine elements. From the results of observations and calculations that have been made, the design power is 8.58kW, the torque moment is 39.41Nm, the shaft diameter is 15.8mm, the diameter of the drive pully (ds1) is 115mm, the diameter of the drive pully (ds2) is 122mm, the speed of the V-belt is 10 ,2m/s, V-belt length 972.48mm, V-belt tension requirement 156.8N

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of variations in the percentage of HCL on the rate of corrosion. corrosion, to determine the effect of variations in current strength on the hardness value and microstructure of ST 60 steel. This study used an experimental method including the preparation of tools and materials, specimen making, welding process and corrosion rate testing, micro hardness vicker hardness. Then the highest corrosion rate value was obtained. of 3.6873996123 mm/year. The highest hardness value is at a current of 140 A in the weld metal area with a hardness value of 242.3 HV and the lowest hardness value is at a current of 120 A in the base metal area of ​​169.5 HV. The conclusion in this study is that the higher the current, the lower the corrosion rate will be inversely proportional to the hardness value, where the higher the amperage, the harder the hardness value

Abstract

The construction of metal construction nowadays involves a lot of welding elements, especially in the field of design, but corrosion of metal has a bad impact on welded joints, including a decrease in the strength of the material and damage to the construction. The quenching heat treatment process is also a major factor that greatly influences changes in mechanical properties due to phase changes. This study aims to improve the mechanical properties of construction steel type ST 37 on GTAW welding results with oil cooling media SAE 15W-40, coconut oil and without cooling media (free air). The results showed that the highest hardness test was found in coconut oil cooling media worth 244.4 HV than SAE-40 oil cooling media, coconut oil, without cooling media and raw materials. The lowest corrosion rate value is found in the SAE 15W-40 oil cooling medium worth 0.3545 mmpy compared to other cooling media (.coconut oil, without cooling media) and raw materials.

Abstract

Welding is an important factor in the industrial world because welding is used in all aspects such as joining, repairing or repairing materials. In various aspects of welding, failures often occur, either broken, or defects that cannot be seen by the naked eye. Therefore, testing in welding joints becomes necessary to see whether the welding can be said to be good or bad. Various welding tests that are familiar are microstructural testing and macrostructural testing. These two tests have different roles or functions, for microstructural testing it is useful to see the density of a weld, to determine the type of phase formed in a welding, to determine grain boundaries, and so on. Meanwhile, for macrographic testing, the function is to find out into a welding, find out the defects that occur in the welding and so on. For more clarity the author will discuss metallographic testing in a welding.

Abstract

Brakes in general are a system that works to slow down or stop rotation. The principle of the brake is to convert the energy of motion into heat energy. The braking effect is obtained from the friction caused between two objects. The method in the calculation is by direct observation to find data in the form of specifications on the front brake components of yamaha jupiter mx 135cc 2013 motorcycle, then the calculation process is carried out to determine the type of force on the fornt brake such as hand force (, piston force (, piston compression force on the canvas (F), braking force (. Based on the results of the study, it is known that hand force ( = 235 Kgf, piston force ( = 493,5 Kgf, piston comression force on the canvas (F) = 3454,56 Kgf (2 canvas), braking force ( = 82,18 Kgf.

One of the efforts to increase the competitiveness of farmers in addition to improving the quality of their agricultural products must also be able to handle agricultural products into commodities that have high selling prices. In other words, they must master post-harvest handling technology. One of these technologies is to turn these agricultural products into flour, including disc mill machines or storage machines. Abstract

Natural fiber reinforced composites are influenced by the characteristics of natural fibers, matrix, fiber bonding and fiber treatment. Examples of the treatment are alkalization and direction to determine the effect of the two treatments on the tensile strength produced by the composite material. The alkalization process uses 5%NaOH with immersion time 2 hours, 4 hours and 6 hours and combined with variations vertical, horizontal and random directions with the fraction used 85% 15% hand layup method and ASTM D638-02a standard test. the direction variation the highest tensile strength value produced in the vertical direction with a value of 43.76 MPa 6.67% strain and 6.55 MPa elastic modulus and the lowest value produced in the horizontal direction with tensile value of 2.32 MPa 0.47% strain and elastic modulus 5.05 MPa. While the best soaking time in the horizontal and random directions was 4 hours while for the vertical variation it was 2 hours because it had better fiber density and density than alkalization times 4 and 6. The best alkalization time for agave sisalana fiber based on 2 of the 3 variations in direction was 4 hours , so researchers took the best outline of the alkalization process is 4 hours.

Abstract

In recent years, the use of polymers has increased in various industries. Not only in the home industry, but polymers have also played a big role in the automotive industry. Examples of polymer applications in the automotive industry include the use of headers on mirrors and vehicle plates. There have been many studies that reveal the properties of polymers that can be equated with metal materials. In addition, the availability of polymers is considered easier to obtain than metal materials. It's just that there is still a need for more research in this regard. Plastics processing involves many of the same operations as metal production. Plastics can be molded, poured, and shaped as well as processed by machining and joining. Plastic raw materials are often found in the form of pellets or powder. Plastics are also available in the form of sheets, plates, bars and pipes. Plastic processing methods can be done by: extrusion, injection molding, casting, thermoforming, blow molding and others. Injection molding is one way that can be done in producing components from plastic materials. The injection molding machine consists of several parts, such as: nozzle, hopper, heating elements, mold and piston. After 600 minutes of manufacturing process using several processes such as facing process, contouring process, finishing process, drilling process, and programming process, a molding is produced. spoon for home industry scale.
