Abstract

Abstract This research aimed at knowing and describing the correlation between scientific literacy and student critical thinking skill on Chemical Bond lesson. The research method was Quantitative Descriptive with Correlation Hypothesis testing. This research was administered at Vocational High School of Telkom Pekanbaru. The subjects of this research were the eleventh-grade students. The objects of this research were scientific literacy and student critical thinking skill on Chemical Bond lesson. The instruments of collecting the data were Chemical Bond questions based on scientific literacy indicators and critical thinking skill. The questions and questionnaire were stated worthy, if they passed valid aspects. The validity could be seen from validity result by using validation sheet. The technique of analyzing the data was Product Moment Correlation with SPSS 21.0 program. Based on the research findings, it was obtained that there was a significant difference between scientific literacy and student critical thinking skill on Chemical Bond lesson at Vocational High School of Telkom Pekanbaru. The Hypothesis was analyzed by using Pearson Product Moment Correlation with α that was 0.05. The correlation coefficient was 0.910 with probability that was 0.000. It meant that there was a positive correlation between scientific literacy and student critical thinking skill on Chemical Bond lesson. Abstract

This research aimed at knowing the effect of implementing peer instruction integrated guided inquiry model on reaction rate lesson toward student critical thinking ability.  it was conducted at the first semester in the academic year of 2018/2019, and it was on reaction rate lesson at the eleventh-grade students of natural science 1 and 2 of state senior high school 2 tapung, kampar regency.  it was a quasi-experiment with pretest-posttest group experimental design.  51 students were the samples, and purposive sampling technique was used in this research.  instruments were essay test in the form of pretest and posttest and observation sheet.  the obtained data showed that there was a significant effect of peer instruction integrated guided inquiry model on reaction rate lesson toward student critical thinking ability, about 8,4%. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh penerapan model pembelajaran inkuiri terbimbing integrasi peer instruction pada materi laju reaksi terhadap kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan pada 2 kelas yaitu XI MIA 1 dan XI MIA 2 SMA Negeri 2 Tapung Kabupaten Kampar tahun ajaran 2018/2019. Jenis penelitian ini adalah quasi eksperimen dengan design pretes-postes. Sampel sebanyak 51 orang siswa dengan teknik pengambilan sampel purposive sampling. Instrumen penelitian berupa tes essay dan lembar observasi. Data yang diperoleh menunjukkan bahwa terdapat pengaruh yang signifikan dari penerapan model pembelajaran inkuiri terbimbing integrasi peer instruction pada materi laju reaksi terhadap kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa sebesar 8,4%.Kata kunci: inquiri terbimbing, berpikir kritis, laju reaksi

Abstract

ABSTRACTThis research was instigated by the questionnaire result that 51% students of State Senior High School 8 supposed that the Chemistry subject was difficult, and the lack of using educational website.  This research aimed at (1) producing chemistry instructional media website based, (2) knowing validity and practicality level of chemistry instructional media website based on Acid Base Lesson at State Senior High School 8.It was a Research and Development (R&D).  The steps of this research were using Borg & Gall model that was limited to the fifth step—revising the test result.  The mean score of media validation by the material and media experts was 89.58% and it was stated very valid.  In practicality test score done by 5 Chemistry subject teachers, the result was 86.66% showing that chemistry instructional media website based was very practical to be used in facilitating teaching and learning process atState Senior High School 8.  In the test result of 35 students for knowing student response to chemistry instructional media website based, the result was 76.59% showing that the media was on good and proper category to be used. Abstract

AbstractThis research was instigated by Chemistry subject at State Senior High School 1 Siak Hulu that was dominated by Lecturing method, and the low of student scores on Atomic Structure lesson in the Academic Year of 2016/2017.  This research aimed at knowing the effect of Joyful Learning model with Recitation method using Physical Self-Assessment learning strategy toward student learning achievement on Atomic Structure lesson.  Experimental method was used in this research with True experimental pretest posttest control group design.  Purposive sampling technique was used in this research.  The samples were the tenth-grade students of Natural Science 1 as the experimental group and the students of Natural Science 2 as the control group.  The used instruments were learning achievement test that was supported by observation sheet and documentation.  The research findings showed that tobserved score 2.74 and ttable was 2.00.  It showed that tobserved was higher than ttable, there was an effect on learning achievement, and the effect was 11.5%.  So, it could be concluded that there was an effect of Joyful Learning model with Recitation method using Physical Self-Assessment learning strategy at State Senior High School 1 Siak.Keywords:     Joyful Learning Model, Recitation Method, Physical Self-Assessment Learning Strategy, Learning Achievement, Atomic Structure

Abstract

AbstractThis research was instigated by the low of students creative thinking ability at State Senior High School 1 Perhentian Raja. This research aimed at knowing the effect of implementing Guided Inquiry learning model with student workbook toward student creative thinking ability on Colloid lesson at State Senior High School 1 Perhentian Raja.  It was Quasi Experimental research.  Simple Random Sampling technique was used in this research.  The samples comprised two classes, the eleventh-grade students of Natural Science 1 that were 33 students as the Control group and the students of Natural Science 2 that were 32 studentsas the Experimental group. The techniques of collecting the data were tests in the form of homogeneity test as the preliminary data, pretest and posttest as the final data, observation, and documentation. The instrument of this research was creative thinking ability test in the form of essay with the indicators of fluency, flexibility, originality, and elaboration. The pretest and posttest data were analyzed by using t test at 5% significant level.  The research findings showed that there was a significant effect of implementing Guided Inquiry learning model with student workbook toward student creative thinking ability on Colloid lesson that t was 4.268 and the score of Sig. Abstract

Rendahnya kemampuan pemahaman konsep siswa merupakan salah satu kendala dalam proses pembelajaran. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pemahaman konsep siswa kelas XI pada materi termokimia menggunakan instrumen Four Tier Multiple Choice. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian deskriptif kuantitatif dimana sampel dalam penelitian diambil dengan teknik porposive sampling. Analisa data dalam penelitian ini dilakukan dengan Rasch Model. Subjek dalam penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas XI MIPA 1 SMAN 12 Pekanbaru yang berjumlah 36 siswa. Teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan tes four tier multiple choice yang terdiri dari 20 soal, wawancara dan dokumentasi. Berdasarkan hasil analisis data menyatakan bahwa persentase pemahaman konsep siswa kelas XI MIPA 1 SMAN 12 Pekanbaru pada materi termokimia yaitu pada kriteria paham konsep 38%, kriteria tidak paham sebesar 32%, kriteia miskonsepsi sebesar 27% dan kriteria error sebesar 3%. Dari hasil yang diperoleh dapat disimpulkan bahwa pemahaman konsep termokimia kelas XI MIPA 1 SMAN 12 Pekanbaru masih kategori sedang.

Abstract

Abstrak Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh fakta bahwa kimia seringkali dianggap sebagai ilmu yang kompleks dan abstrak, sehingga dibutuhkan pembuktian dan visualisasi yang jelas. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui bentuk desain video praktikum sel volta berbasis STREAM, serta untuk mengetahui tingkat validitas dan praktikalitas dari media ini. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah Research and Development (R&D) dan model Design, Development, Research (DDR). Tahapannya antara lain analisis (analysis), desain (design), pengembangan (development), dan evaluasi (evaluation). Penelitian ini dilakukan di SMA Al-Huda Pekanbaru. Lembar wawancara, angket uji validitas materi dan media, angket praktikalitas guru, dan angket uji respon siswa merupakan intrumen pengumpulan data pada penelitian ini. Hasilnya adalah 93,3% untuk tingkat validitas materi, 100% untuk tingkat validitas media, 93,3% untuk tingkat praktikalitas guru dengan kriteria sangat praktis, dan 97,83% untuk hasil uji respon siswa dengan kriteria sangat menarik. Maka dapat disimpulkan bahwa video praktikum sel volta berbasis STREAM (Science, Technology, Religion, Engineering, Art, and Mathematics) sangat layak digunakan dalam kegiatan pembelajaran. Kata kunci : DDR, Video Praktikum, STREAM, Sel Volta Abstract This research was instigated with the fact that chemistry is often considered as a complex and abstract science, so clear proof and visualization is needed. This research aimed at finding out STREAM (Science, Technology, Religion, Engineering, Art, and Mathematics) based voltaic cells practical work video design form, and finding out validity and practicality levels of this medium. It was Research and Development with Design, Development, Research (DDR) model. The steps were analysis, design, development, and evaluation. This research was conducted at Senior High School of Al-Huda Pekanbaru. Interview sheet, material and media validation test questionnaire, teacher practicality questionnaire, and student response test questionnaire were the instruments of collecting data. The results were 93.3% for material validity level, 100% for media validity level, 93.3% for teacher practicality level with very practical criteria, and 89.83% for student response test result with very interesting criteria. So, it could be concluded that STREAM based voltaic cells practical work video was very appropriate to be used in learning activities. Keywords : DDR, Practical Work Video, STREAM, Volta Cells
