Abstract

Telah dilakukan penelitian pengaruh suhu air pada proses penggilingan kedelai terhadap kadar protein susu kedelai. Variasi suhu air yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah: 30,40,60 dan 100 oC. Untuk menentukan pengaruh suhu air pada proses penggilingan kedelai terhadap kadar protein susu kedelai digunakan analisis data anova satu arah dengan taraf signifikansi 5 % dan 1 %.Hasil analisis menunjukkan bahwa variasi suhu air yang digunakan pada proses penggilingan kedelai berpengaruh nyata terhadap kadar protein susu kedelai. Dimana kadar protein pada suhu 30oC adalah 2,583%, 40oC adalah 3,789%, 60oC adalah 4,415%, 80 oC adalah 3,876 dan 100 oC adalah 2,189%. Dari hasil penelitian diperoleh kadar protein tertinggi didapat dari penggilingan yang menggunakan air suhu 60 oC.

Abstract

Pedada fruit (Sonneratia caseoiaris) potential as a food source because it contains high nutrient. In this study pedada fruit used as raw material for making tempe. Tempe is made by the fermentation time of 48 hours with 5 grams of tempe yeast and nutritional levels tested. The results showed the moisture content, ash content, fat content, protein content, and carbohydrate content are respectively 79,87% (8Nl max 65%); 1,76% (8Nl max 1,5%); 3,50% (8NI min 10%); 3,90% (8NI min 10%) and 10,96% (8Nl max 2,5%). Organoleptic test results it can be concluded that the panelists liked the tempe of pedada fruit with test scores for flavor, color, texture and scent are respectively 3,6; 3,4; 3,68; and 4,6. Flavor, color, texture and aroma the tempe of pedada fruit acceptable by the panelists.

Abstract

Susu kelapa mengandung lemak dan protein serta kadar air yang tinggi sehingga menyebabkan produk ini mudah rusak. Untuk mendapatkan susu kelapa yang awet atau tidak mudah rusak, maka perlu ditambahkan bahan pengawet alami seperti vitamin E. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui ada atau tidaknya pengaruh penambahan vitamin E terhadap bilangan peroksida , pH, dan kadar protein dengan variasi waktu. Perubahan kualitas yang diamati berupa bilangan peroksida ditentukan dengan cara titrasi, pH ditentukan dengan pHmeter dan, kadar protein ditentukan dengan metode kjedhal dengan variasi waktu 0 (kontrol), 4, 8, dan 12 hari pada suhu 30C. Kualitas susu kelapa yang ditambah dengan vitamin E 100 IU dengan variasiwaktu 0 (kontrol), 4, 8, dan 12 hari masing-masing adalah: bilangan peroksida 0,3740; 0,4760; 0,6120; 0,6800 meq/kg , pH 6,1700; 5,9066; 4,7167 dan 4,0333, kadar protein 2,6657%; 2,3492%; 1,7163%; 0,8630%. Sedangkan kualitas susu kelapa tanpa penambahan vitamin E dengan variasiwaktu 0 (kontrol), 4, 8, dan 12 hari masing-masing adalah: bilangan peroksida 0,3400; 0,5440; 0,8840; 1,1560meq/kg, pH 6,1767; 4,6266; 3,1333; 2,2166, dan kadar protein 2,6561%; 1,5917%; 0,9876%; 0,4123%. Waktu maksimal penyimpanan terbaik untuk kualitas susu kelapa yang sesuai (bilangan peroksida dan pH dengan CODEX sedangkan kadar protein dengan SNI) adalah susu kelapa dengan penambahan vitamin E 100 IU sampai pada hari ke – 4.

Abstract

This research aimed at analyzing student critical thinking skill using practical work method on Thermochemistry lesson. It was conducted at the first semester of the eleventh grade of Islamic Senior High School of Diniyah Puteri Pekanbaru in the Academic Year of 2018/2019. It was using descriptive method and it was pre-experiment with one shot case study design directing to get the information about critical thinking skill appeared, to see student critical thinking skill that could be developed through practical work method on Thermochemistry lesson. The subjects of this research were the eleventh-grade students at the first semester in the Academic Year of 2018/2019. Purposive sampling technique was used in this research, and it was obtained a class comprising 20 students, and they were divided into 4 groups. Observation, interview, and documentation were the techniques of collecting the data. Final data analysis of observation sheet showed student critical thinking skill that the total percentage was 77.09% and it was on good category.

Abstract

  Traditional medicine from drug crop has more than a pharmacological effect so that its use should be acurate and correct. The mistake in traditional medicine usage and or drug crop can be dangerous for health. Therefore, it is required a complete scientific information to avoid it. It had been done the research of anti-bacteria activity test from crude extract of ethyl acetate and ethanol from skin and seed of Pulasan to bacterium Staphylococcus aureus and Escherichia coli with dilution method to determine Minimum Inhibitory Concentration (MIC) and Minimum Bakterisidal Concentration (MBC). The biggest MIC and MBC was respectively obtained from ethyl acetate extract that was 0,76 mg/ml, and ethanol extract that was 156,13 mg/ml. In general, skin and fruit seed extract of pulasan (Nephelium mutabile) has bigger resistance ones to bacterium Staphylococcus aureus compared to Escherichia coli.

Abstract

Along with the increasing need for non-perishable foodstuffs, hazardous chemical food additives (FA) such as borax and formalin are widely used in the food industry, such as in making wet noodles, meatballs, rice cake, tofu, and others. This dangerous chemical FA is usually used as a food preservative, even though these chemicals are poisonous and dangerous to human health so that their use is strictly prohibited by the government. In order to anticipate the wider negative impact of the use of hazardous chemical FA added to foodstuffs, it is necessary to carry out counseling and socialization activities regarding healthy food free of hazardous chemical FA by mastering the technology for identifying food additives and handling them. This activity uses a method of mentoring the community learning process in the form of counseling and training. The target of the socialization activity was the majelis taklim of Babussalam Mosque, Tampan District, Pekanbaru City. The overall implementation of the activity exceeded the desired target because 96% of the participants understood food additives, 83.3% understood tips on recovering healthy and hazardous FA-free food, and 84% were interested in making hazardous chemical FA detection tools.

Abstract

This research was instigated by student difficulty in comprehending chemistry lesson that was theoretical, recitation and the lack of using instructional media. This research aimed at knowing the feasibility result of Stop Motion video as an instructional media especially on media lesson theoretical and recitation at State Vocational High School through validity test and practicality test. In this research Stop Motion video was designed by using Filmora application to support the learning on Development of Atomic Model Theory lesson. The final product was in the form of a valid tutorial video. It was a research and development (R&D) using model of Borg and Gall modification, and it was carried out at State Vocational High School 7 Pekanbaru. Interview and questionnaire were conducted for the techniques of collecting data. Stop Motion video as an instructional media developed was tested valid with 88.95% percentage (very valid) and practical with 82.75% (very practical). Based on these findings, it could be concluded that Stop Motion video as an instructional media on Development of Atomic Model Theory lesson have been valid and practical, and it got good student responses, so it could be tested in the next phase.

Abstract

Abstract Modeling and laboratory simulation can help overcome of cost obstacle, time, safety and other constraints in laboratory experiments. Many skills also had the opportunity to be fostered and promoted, especially in connection with the construction of thinking skills. However, the implementation of this program required an evaluation, in order to decided whether the program will be continuing or not, in addition its needed to found the focused of on overall quality of learning in order to make a recommendation in the decision making. This research was conducted by the mixed-method approached with triangulation design, in order to evaluate the effectiveness, problems or any obstacles of the implementation of the program. The population in this study was the third semester of pre-service chemistry students at UIN Syarif Kasim Sultan Riau, which was supported by lecturers, assistant laboratory and staf. The sample selection was done using random sampling techniques. Program evaluation in this study was conducted by the CIPP model (Context, Input, Process, Product). The results showed that the program was running quite effective when viewed from the overall average grades. The evaluation about context, inputs, processes and products had the good and very good score, in which the evaluation score of context and input, get the better score than process and product evaluation. This study recommends to be a continuing improvement program of modeling and simulation laboratories, both as an exercise before the experiments or replace the real experiments. Keywords: modeling; simulation lab; chemistry experiment Abstrak Pemodelan dan simulasi laboratorium dapat membantu mengatasi kendala biaya, waktu, alasan keselamatan dan kendala lainnya dalam praktikum di laboratorium kimia. Beragam kemampuan lain juga berkesempatan untuk ditumbuh-kembangkan terutama dalam kaitannya dengan konstruksi berfikir. Meskipun demikian, implementasi pelaksanaan program ini memerlukan evaluasi, guna memutuskan apakah program ini layak dilanjutkan ataukah tidak, selain karena diperlukannya penemuan terhadap fokus peningkatan kualitas pembelajaran secara menyeluruh guna menghasilkan rekomendasi dalam menentukan keputusan. Penelitian ini dilakukan dengan menggunakan pendekatan mixed-method desain triangulasi, guna mengevaluasi sebab-sebab efektifitas, kendala ataupun kegagalan pelaksanaan program. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah mahasiswa semester III jurusan Pendidikan Kimia UIN Sultan Syarif Kasim Riau, yang didukung oleh dosen, asisten laboratorium dan laboran dan pemilihan sampel dilakukan menggunakan teknik random sampling. Evaluasi program dalam penelitian ini dilakukan menggunakan model CIPP (Context, Input, Process, Product). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa program ini berjalan cukup efektif jika dilihat dari rata-rata keseluruhan nilai, mulai dari context, input, proses dan produk yang berada pada skor baik dan sangat baik, di mana skor evaluasi context dan input, lebih baik dibanding proses dan produk. Penelitian ini memberikan rekomendasi untuk terus meningkatkan penggunaan pemodelan dan simulasi laboratorium kimia, baik sebagai latihan sebelum praktikum maupun menggantikan praktikum yang sesungguhnya. Abstract

This research aims to produce and determine the feasibility of Predict, Observe, Explain (POE) based student electronic smart worksheet. The method used is research and development design. The development stages of this model consist of three stages: defining, designing, and developing. The research respondences were media design experts, learning material experts, chemistry teachers, and ten students. Instruments that used to validate and practical tests are questionnaires. Electronic smart worksheets are created using the articulate storyline application to develop the stages of POE learning. The validity of the worksheet in terms of media, material, practical, and student response results are 80% (valid), 97.14% (very valid), 96.81% (very practical), 89.61% (very practical), respectively. Based on these results, it could be concluded that POE based student electronic smart worksheet is suitable for use as an acid-base learning media.

Abstract

This study aims to study how the potential of peat water as a source of electrical energy using Microbial Fuel Cell (MFC) technology. Observations were made on two chamber vessel reactors (anodes and cathodes) and connected to electrochemical cell circuits (voltaic cells) and voltage values were measured, current, power density generated from the circuit for 9 days.The results of the measurement of the maximum voltage value, the maximum current generated and the maximum power density (8th day) of the reactor are obtained as follows: 50.8 mV, 1 µA and 3.64 x 10-2 mW / m2
